I've decided to post the Retrobeat pages as they are just so colourful and exciting. This brand is known as the psychedelic brand and features a wealth of clothing in every single pattern you can imagine! Plaid, shapes and even bread! The title of the brand in Japanese is トルテポルテ which translates to Torteporte. Very interesting name for an interesting brand! In the western region games, the brand is known as Retrobeat.

As I mentioned before, the main image/style of トルテポルテ is the psychedelic style and the brand also features the following styles: lively, girly, boho-chic, sporty, bold, rock, chic, feminine and preppy. That's quite a lot! I think the number of items available at トルテポルテ is quite decent and you can always find a few favourites from it. If they ever make a new Style Boutique game, I've always thought this brand or Soy would be on the chopping block. You know how the developers love taking brands out rather than adding new ones. I feel sometimes トルテポルテ doesn't get enough love in the game and fashion trends have evolved so more unique items could be added to the brand. Does anyone else feel like Retrobeat was a brand they ignore in the game but came to love it eventually? I felt that way as I tended to avoid it and once I starting making more outfits in Styling Star, I got really into the brand! You do have to spend time experimenting with the brand's items and you can find some good sets and combinations!

Shopdo Update

December is here and that means a new Shopdo update! I have three new outfits for this month and I went with a Christmas theme for the outfits this month. Kept the same boutique interior as I quite like the blue toned look and my character has another girly outfit on that is one of my personal favourites. Onto the new outfits for this month and first up is a floral themed baby-doll look. I went with this pannier skirt as the green and red tones reminded me of Christmas and the roses are quite merry. This is an ideal baby-doll look as it features many key elements to the style: pannier skirt, gloves, bolero and knee high socks. The second look is a cute Santa inspired outfit featuring girly and baby-doll items. I've been quite interested in overalls and overall style dresses recently in real life so I wanted to create a look similar to them in the game. The final outfit for this month a girly outfit titled Pretty Present and I was inspired by the bows on the clothing items for the name. Shopdo Update

The outfits for this week's set of Halloween costumes are some rather cute fairy themed looks. I went with a few similar images: lively, girly and psychedelic and tried to create fairy inspired looks based off the items in the game.  Each outfit features a different colour scheme and I went with dresses and skirts as they felt quite enchanted like. I thought fairies would be a cute costume to end my Halloween series on and I'll be back next year with another round of Halloween Shopdo Updates! 100 Outfit Challenge Day 100: Favourite Outfit

Wow, we are finally here at the final day of the 100 Outfit Challenge. It's been a long journey and a billion outfits it feels like. The theme for Day 100 is pretty simple which is to just choose your favourite outfit in the game. I knew I had to go with my eastern and psychedelic mashup as it's been my favourite since I made it what seems like a billion years ago for a challenge. Everything is amazing about it; the colours, the elegance and fusion of styles. It also combines some of my favourite colour tones in the game which are pink and purple. The backdrop is my lovely pink themed boutique from a while back as I loved this interior when I had it. 100 Outfit Challenge Day 97: New Styling Star Item

I would just like to thank the developers of Styling Star for including so many amazing new items in the game. One of my personal favourites are these strange poncho style outers which can be found at a few brands. I went with this quirky one from Retrobeat for my psychedelic outfit. I've probably made this look a thousand times already because I love it so much. I combined the outer with these adorable kitty socks from the same brand and some shoes to match the purple/blue tones in the ribbons and pockets. Another thing I love about this style of outer is that you don't have to worry about what inner and bottoms you use and can just select anything short. Super easy!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 87: Hat

Do you ever have a certain clothing item that you always wear like 80% of the time? Well I feel that's me with this style of hat in the Style Boutique games. I just always go back to them as these berets are too cute and go well with so many outfits. I tried to use items in the rest of the outfit that I normally don't use. This dress matches well with the purple shades of the beret and I added some purple toned accessories for the final touch. These patterned dresses are kinda cute and I should definitely try using them more!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 85: Under $29

I'm actually surprised at how good this outfit turned out considering the challenge of building an outfit with items under $29. I was worried at first that the outfit would look too basic and just like my basic styled outfits. But it kinda came out in a psychedelic style which is interesting. I tried to use items from a variety of brands and not just Basic U. The final look is quite fashionable and out of the box and I love how the skirt matches the t-shirt print. The only thing I struggled with is the shoes and I went with these to match the psychedelic look of the t-shirt.

Shopdo Update

This week's selection of outfits are a colourful and fun bunch to match the lively look of my current boutique. The first outfit is a lovely pastel toned lively themed outfit featuring a camisole, skirt and some slip-on shoes. I quite like this camisole from April Bonbon and it's colour scheme. The second outfit is a psychedelic look made from some new items to the Retrobeat brand. I think these dresses are quite a unique design and it's nice to see items such as this in the game. Lastly we have another lively outfit which completely turned out all red! I really wanted to use this rose patterned bodice in the outfit and just picked a bunch of random red toned items to go with it. I quite like the final product and it's super adorable! Shopdo Update - Bright Boutique

Since it is now the start of Spring, I thought a fun bright themed boutique would be a nice update for my Shopdo. This week's outfits are a bunch of lively and psychedelic looks in a range of colours. First off is this rather pink outfit featuring items from the lively style. These pants used to be my go-to lively item back in Fashion Forward. I feel like it's been ages since I last used them so I chucked them into this outfit. Second outfit is a psychedelic outfit with the perfect name! I thought these items looked really nice together but they don't normally go together. So I called this look Out Of Style to go with the outfit. The third outfit is a fun more cute looking lively outfit and it's more suitable for parties or nights out. Here is a snapshot of my new bright coloured boutique to accompany the new outfits. I tried using a few items I thought contained a number of colours to them and were lively looking. There is quite a selection of coloured shelves which is nice as the circle style ones fit well against walls or back up against each other.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 68: Cardigan

Another psychedelic outfit for day 68 because what can I say, the style has really grown on me in this latest game. I went for a more softer style outfit than yesterdays groovy ensemble. The theme for today is cardigan so I picked a fun design from the brand as Retrobeat has some interesting pieces cardigan wise. The colour tones in the outfit matched well with the skirt and inner which I was happy about as sometimes it's difficult to match items in the psychedelic style. This outfit feels a little boho-chic as well now that I look at it, it's very bohemian.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 65: Dance Dance Dance

Exciting theme for today's outfit with a dance inspired ensemble. I named the theme after an E-girls song of the same name which is one of my favourite tracks from their E.G. Crazy album. There is one brand that comes to mind when I think dance floor and that's Retrobeat. I've really come to love this brand in Styling Star and I'm disappointed I didn't use the brand more in previous games. I think the brand got some amazing new items in Styling Star and that really lifted up it's game. I went for a blue/purple toned outfit for the dance theme and hit the dance floor for the photo shoot. This t-shirt from Retrobeat seems to be the one I use the most as it's quite versatile and matches a number of items from the brand.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 55: 1990's

Ah the 1990's! One of the best eras for me and my personal favourite. Most of my favourite movies are from the 1990's as well as music. One of my top movies Night At The Roxbury even has one of my all time favourite songs 'What Is Love' in it. Love it when that song comes on the 90's dance CD we play at work sometimes. Today's look was inspired by the movie Clueless which I've actually done an outfit for before in my 30 Day Cosplay Challenge. So I tried to create the same outfit again but with different items. I feel like this look would be something I'd wear in real life as I love skirts and high socks. 1990's fashion was the best as it often looked all over the place but had this stylish appearance to it. It's great that it's come back into fashion as I've picked up a few cool logo tees at the shops, found a neon MTV logo one for $5 recently when I needed a shirt for work quickly.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 50: Mix-Up

Oh my gosh, we finally made it to 50 days in the 100 Outfit Challenge! It feels like forever since we started the challenge and there has been so many amazing outfits so far. For outfit number 50, I've gone with a mix-up theme. The idea is to combine two images into one outfit and I've gone with one of my top combos: psychedelic and eastern! I would've never put these two together but since discovering some fun outfits from challenges and Shopdo Updates, I've discovered they work quite well together. Today's look has a maroon tone to it and is a casual look for an afternoon stroll around town. The sun was setting in the game, so I got to take the photos with this beautiful dusk tone which matched the outfit.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 48: Artist

A little creative theme for today and that's to dress like an artist! I enjoy watching art and craft channels on Youtube so that was the main inspiration for this idea. I've gone towards a more kid style for the art outfit as I was inspired by the smocks we used to wear in art class as kids. They were these giant rain coat style things that came in the school colours. The elastic was always worn out on them and it was impossible to keep your sleeves up. But anything to keep your expensive school uniform from getting one drop of paint on it! Once I got paint on the back of my school kilt and never noticed for weeks. I used one of these cute new outers for the smock and a beret of course for that artist look.

Shopdo Update - Rock Interior

Finally a new interior for my Shopdo is up this week! I remembered to change it as it's been a few weeks since the last boutique update. This time I've gone with a rock look as I feel it's been a while since I last did this style. The first outfit for this week's update is a rock look of course! Went with a pink, white and black themed outfit as I quite like the pink toned items from Stage Dive. Next is a psychedelic look as that style is kinda similar to rock. More like an elegant version with a hint of far out. Last but not least is a casual rock outfit because I feel I don't make enough rock outfits and needed an excuse. Shopdo Update

Super quick Shopdo Update and I've kept the boutique interior for another week as I couldn't think of a new design for an update. The outfits are pretty simple this week as I just picked three outfits from my scrapbook as I didn't have much time to pick new ones. These are some favourite looks of mine from Styling Star and they have appeared a few times in Shopdo Updates as well in challenges and lookbooks. First off is a baby-doll look with a more casual appeal rather than a over-the-top coordinate. Love this shade of pink and combination of the patterns on the vest and skirt. Second is a lively look featuring more pink tones! It's all about the pink these week and this was a look I did ages ago for a challenge and liked it so much I saved it to my scrapbook. 100 Outfit Challenge Day 34: New Love

Every now and then, I'll get obsessed with new items in Style Boutique. For a while, it was the biker jackets then skirts from Retrobeat. At the moment, the hot item is these cat socks from Retrobeat. I just fell in love with them as they too cute! I've used these socks in all the colours available for various outfits over the last year. For this outfit, I thought I'd give the blue/brown toned ones a try in this psychedelic/basic outfit. I actually really like the look of this outfit which also features one of other favourite items which are these skirts also from Retrobeat.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 21: Psychedelic

After making all these outfits posts and challenges for Styling Star, I've become quite a fan of the psychedelic style. It was never something I used often in previous games but I felt the style and the Retrobeat brand has really improved in Styling Star. I owe most of it to the amazing new items that were added to the brand such as this skirt which I'm obsessed with. It's my go-to item which I'm sure readers have seen multiple times on Shopdo updates over the last year. It makes an appearance once again for my psychedelic outfit which is out of this world thanks to this silly UFO hat. So I'm off to make a billion more psychedelic outfits because I can't enough!

Shopdo Update

Excuse the boring black hair on my character that doesn't match my outfit. I was doing some more recreating of photo shoots and forgot to change my hair for the Shopdo Update. I've got a mixture of outfits up on Shopdo this week starting out with a psychedelic/girly combination. I really liked these cardigans in Fashion Forward but haven't used them too much in Styling Star. So I thought I'd work it into a psychedelic look and I was loving the grey tones obviously when I made this. The second outfit is a boho-chic look which I rarely do. I think that's because the brand Soy is quite limited and there's not that many items from it that I like to use in outfits. The final look is a girly outfit featuring pastel yellow tones. This was more of a quick look I threw together for the final look as I really liked these shorts and just picked items of the same colour for the rest of the outfit. 100 Outfit Challenge Day 10: Two-Tone

One of my favourite colour combinations in Styling Star is the classic black and white. I've made a few outfits similar to this one previously for other challenges, lookbooks and Shopdo updates. So it was only naturally I went back to this look for the Two-Tone theme. I decided to switch it up a bit and not use my normal skirt from Retrobeat. Thought I'd give this stripe one from Marble Lily a try and it matches perfectly. Went a bit crazy with the stripes with this look!
