September Favourites

I was thinking about what to talk about in this month's favourites and I couldn't think of much. This month went past pretty quick with work and stuff so I don't remember much that went on. The weather hasn't been very spring-like here as it has been raining most days with temperatures in the tens. Some days we even had stacks of hail which I haven't seen for a long time. Hopefully it will warm up soon and we can all get some use out of our summer attire! Just a quick monthly favourites this month as I don't have much going on.

Gaming

This month I've mainly just been playing some 3DS here and there as well as some Sims 4. Found a bunch of game packs on clearance at some stores so I was able to get some more content for my game. Picked the perfect time honestly to get into the game as I don't have to pay an arm and a leg for the content.

The other day Nintendo announced some exciting things in their Direct video. First off is Brewster finally in Animal Crossing New Horizons! I'm happy he is coming back as I miss all the old characters and I'm sure others do to. I was actually playing New Leaf the other day on my 3DS and it made me sad that so many cool characters were removed in New Horizons. I wonder what content Brewster will bring to the game and I haven't played for ages so it gives me an excuse to try the game out again.

Another piece of interesting news was the Disney Magical World 2 remaster for the Nintendo Switch. My friend sent me a messaging asking if I had seen the new Disney game for the switch they announced and I was over the moon thinking it was a new game or a port of the arcade version exclusive to Japan. Then all my excitement went down the drain when I discovered what it actually was. Like who was asking for a rerelease of the 2nd game? I've already played that one and still own it! I read about some DLC being included which is just clothing and items. Nothing worthy of being called Enchanted. At least the first game had DLC that added new regions and that would've been worth the remaster or just combine both into a set. I'm waiting until it comes out in December to see if anything new has been added but I just don't have the time nowadays to grind at a game I've already completed. I do miss taking cute screenshots in the game :( The pose mechanic in that game was hilarious!

Halloween Time!

The spookiest time of the year is here for it is Halloween! I thought it would be fun to share my favourite things about Halloween. Halloween isn't that big in Australia but in recent years it has been growing in popularity. More shops are now selling decorations and costumes and I've even seen a few houses all decorated around the suburbs. I think because Christmas is pushed so early in the shops that people forget about Halloween. I am totally over seeing Christmas stuff in August so I'm all for Halloween.

First off on the Halloween list is one of my favourite characters, Rilakkuma! Japan always goes all out for holiday themed anything and Rilakkuma is no exception. San-X brought out some super adorable Rilakkuma and friends Halloween plushies this year. Just look at these costumed cuties! Rilakkuma in the ghost outfit would be my favourite.

When I was younger, Halloween wasn't celebrated at all over here. So my only exposure to it was through American television shows. I grew up watching Nickelodeon, Disney Channel and Cartoon Network so I loved around Halloween time when the channels would play the Halloween specials. Big Time Rush was one (and still is) one of my favourite live-action Nick shows and the Halloween specials of that were so hilarious. But the ultimate Halloween special would be the Sabrina the Teenage Witch ones. The show was perfect for Halloween and the Halloween episodes were always well done. Planning on marathoning the Sabrina specials on the 31st for Halloween.

Halloween seems to be the hot topic for Youtubers around this time. A few of my main Youtubers put out good content for teh spooky season. I'd say Ashens has the best Halloween videos where he buys Halloween themed junk (or tat as he refers to it as) and reviews it. Looking forward to seeing the horrors he finds this year. Another Youtuber that I quite like is Mia Maples who is a Canadian Youtuber who reviews clothing websites, does make-up videos and other fun things. She's down to earth and gives honest reviews of the products she tries. I'll leave her recent costume try-on video below where she tries out costumes from Fashion Nova.

Couldn't forget Disney in a Halloween themed post! Halloween shows up in Disney Magical World and it's probably my favourite holiday in the game just because of the cute costumes the main characters wear. It's a shame that you can't craft the outfits that Mickey and friends wear for yourself. I really want Daisy's outfit!!!

My Top 10 Video Games

On this blog, I often post about the game series Style Boutique for Nintendo 3DS. Well today, I thought we'd take a look at other games that I love playing and series that I've grown up with. This post will contain my Top 10 Video Games from various consoles and reasons why I'm fond of them. So in no particular order, here are my Top 10 Video Games!

Rollercoaster Tycoon Series
Easily the best theme park management game by far, the Rollercoaster Tycoon games allow you to build your own theme park or work through pre-built ones in different scenarios. I'm quite fascinated by theme parks (especially defunct/abandoned ones) in real life so it would only be suitable to enjoy a theme park simulator. I have the three-pack of the series on Steam, but I tend to play OpenRCT2 and the third game the most. OpenRCT2 is a modded version of the game that tends to run more smoothly on my PC than the first one (it always seems to crash whenever I built a chair lift) and you can turn on some hilarious cheats. Mad Mouse style roller coasters would be my favourite style of ride to build as they are my favourite style in real life.

One of my current parks in OpenRCT2

The Sims Series
Nowadays this game gets a bit of a bad wrap with all it's ridiculous expansions and prices, but back in the day, The Sims was the hottest game. I remember a time when a new Sims 1 game would come out and you'd go hang out at your friends house all day playing it. It was our multiplayer and we'd play it for hours only taking a break for jumping in the pool or walking to the local deli for some Paddle Pops and chips. Hot Date and Pets were the popular ones but when Making Magic came out, it used to crash everyone's computers. Sims 2 was amazing and we'd never seen expansion packs like it had before. Open For Business was my favourite and I would always turn my house into a entertainment venue all the time. I wasn't into Sims 3 at the time it was out as I didn't play much video games then but I have the expansion packs on Steam now and play it from time to time. Sims 4 is a bit restrictive with a lot of elements, but I like the realistic style and new in-depth features to the characters. I only have Get To Work and Get Together and I quite like them. Lazy Game Reviewer on Youtube has the best Sims play throughs and reviews, I always enjoy the silliness of his Sims 1 play through.

Disney Magical World
This favourite is an interesting one, I knew nothing about the game for years after it's release until I read about the second instalment in a Japanese magazine. I was interested at the concept of a Disney style game that was part RPG, part crafting and part collectable gatherer. Luckily after noticing Disney Magic Castle My Happy Life 2 ディズニー マジック キャッスル マイ ハッピー ライフ 2 in the magazine, the western version of the game Disney Magical World 2 was announced for release in a few weeks. So my friends and I each got copies of the game and we loved it! The outfits were super adorable and the quests were challenging. I picked up the first game Disney Magical World a while after and I'm still playing it today. The second game is much better, the first one has too much grinding for random items that never appear and whilst the cards are cute, I'm stuck on the last 15.

My favourite NPC in the game: Carrot Man

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
We used to have a copy of this on our PC back when it first came out and I used to play on my siblings save to collect the hidden packages. I just liked exploring the colourful 1980's environment in the game more than missions. Now that I'm older, I don't mind the missions at all. I have the Steam version which is awfully buggy at times, but still a classic. The soundtrack is totally killer and the game has a wonderful story line full of interesting characters. Vice City would have to be the best GTA game for me due to the amazing open world, story line and introduced me to a lot of great 80's tunes.

30 Day Cosplay Challenge Day 20 - Alice from Alice In Wonderland

Today's cosplay is another Disney Magical World inspired costume! I will be cosplaying Alice from Alice In Wonderland which I'm sure everyone knows. I recently made a dress based off her classic outfit for a party and that was the main inspiration for this idea. I just love the design of the outfit she has on in the original Disney movie.

For the outfit, I went with a baby-doll inspired look that is a bit more modern that Alice's original dress mainly because I've omitted the apron part. That was mainly due to not finding a close fit to it in the game and I thought this beautiful skirt and inner combination from Marble Lily matched the design of her original dress. Had another chance to use my favourite pair of shoes from Marble Lily once again and the hairbow of course which I also adore.

30 Day Cosplay Challenge Day 16 - Minnie Mouse

I wanted to go for a polka look for one of the cosplays so I thought Minnie Mouse would be perfect for just that! I didn't copy an outfit of hers exactly, but was more inspired by the Minnie Mouse outfits in the Disney Magical World series.

For the Minnie Mouse outfit, I went with a cute polka dot dress from Marzipan Sky and accessories from the baby-doll image. The final outfit turned out super adorable and is something I'd wear in real life. I decided to use the carnival location for the photo shoot as I thought that related to the Disney theme parks the closest. Tried out the hime bangs style for a change and it looked great with the ribbon curl pigtails.

Disney Magical World 2 - Trip Down Memory Lane

Last month I finally 100% completed Disney Magical World 2 on the 3DS. I made a previous post talking about completing the game and my game percentage was actually over 100% because I had downloaded the DLC items. I noted that I would post my collection of pictures from the game and I finally collated them all together.

Disney Magical World 2 is a adorable game that lets you talk photos when playing the game. I had lots of fun talking silly photos with various Disney characters using the greetings feature. You unlock different greetings in the game, some normal everyday greetings and lots of ridiculous ones. My favourite poses were the outrageous ones like appearing surprised and looking up. I ended up with quite a collection of pictures of my character posing in a silly fashion.

Disney Magical World 2 - 100% Completion!

Finally fully completed one of my favourite games on the 3DS, Disney Magical World 2! After a year of playing, I finally got all the items in the game and achieved 100% completion. It's actually over 100% because I downloaded the DLC and Magical AR Items. I unlocked most of the items last year but I had to wait a while to get the rest as they were seasonal items only available at certain times of the year such as Halloween.

Disney Magical World 2 is an extremely fun and adorable game! I highly recommend it if you like games such as Animal Crossing or ones where you collect and craft items. The second game in the series is much easier than the first which I'm playing through now. You can clearly see how they fix certain features to make them easier to achieve such as crafting quest items, prices of items and completing favours for residents.

I will make a more detailed blog post about the game in the future as I have so many photos to post, but for now I'd thought I'd share one of my favourite things to do in the game. One of the best things in the game is being able to take photos whilst doing silly greetings. I had a joke running that I would always do the look up greeting in the photos so here's some hilarious photos of that.
