February Favourites

Going to give myself a gold star as I spelt February correctly in the title on the first try! Seriously, I struggle to spell February every year when it rolls around. Anyway this month went so quick! I still feel like it's December though because it's just been so busy and I don't realise how quick the days are going. It's still pretty hot here, we're having a sudden heatwave. Normally I don't mind the heat but after the last heatwave in January when it was nearly 50 degrees, I'm a bit over it. Plus it's quite hot at my work then it's hot at night so you can't sleep then everyone is tired for work the next day. The endless circle!

Gaming
Amazingly I didn't play much video games this month. A bit of Style Boutique here and there to update my Shopdo but I don't recall playing it much. All the posts on the blog this month were a back log of images I had from the game. I did however make some new outfits on teh Design Centre which I need to post on here. Here's a sneak peak at one of them!

Music
Big month music wise. I got a large order from Japan but it's not quite ready yet to post on here as some of the CD's absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke when I got them. So I've been using some techniques to make them smell better and I think there working so far. I did get some albums and singles in good condition or brand new. Picked up CLC's Japanese releases from Tower Records which I'm super happy about. I brought the two I didn't get from Tower Records second hand the other day so I'm excited to receive those soon. Here's some of the songs I've been listening to this month!

Shopdo Update

I'm quite a fan of this week's Shopdo outfits as they turned out super adorable and stylish. The boutique has the pink Valentine's inspired interior once again because I haven't decided on what style I want to change it to next. The first outfit is a mash-up of the lively and girly styles which are pretty similar styles anyway. I find quite a few of the pastel toned items from April Bonbon match perfectly with Marzipan Sky or even Marble Lily items. The second outfit is a stripey red and pink toned baby-doll outfit. Originally I was going to do a combination of Baby-Doll and feminine, but I came across this inner and skirt that matched perfectly. So I kept this outfit to just the baby-doll style because it turned out lovely. Last but not least is a girly outfit for the third outfit. Love this dusty pink tone that's quite popular in the game. This outfit looks super comfy and perfect for a day out when you want to be comfortable yet stylish. You can find all these outfits as my Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Colour Outfits Collection - Orange

Welcome to the ultimate Colour Outfit Collection because this one for the colour orange worked perfectly! Every outfit turned out stunning and I just love them all. I would've never thought that the colour orange would look so nice in so many styles. I just can't single out which ones are my favourites as I think they are all lovely. Which one do you like best? Would it be eastern for it's subtle touches of colour, preppy for that ready for back to school look or chic for it's power woman appearance. I'm happy that this Colour Outfit Collection turned out so well because I never thought I would like all the outfits and find some new looks.

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun - Single Review (Cutie Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B)

Last week I posted a review of the 胸キュン Mune Kyun single from AOA and the review looked at the Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B. This week the review will be about another edition of the single, the Cutie Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B. I won't go into as much detail with this review as the single is pretty much the same apart from the single design and photobook. So let's take a look!

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun - Single Review Cutie Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B

胸キュン Mune Kyun is AOA's third Japanese single and is the Japanese version of their hit Korean song Heart Attack. As I mentioned in the first review, the single was released in eleven editions: Limited Sexy Versions CD+DVD Type A and CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B, Limited Cutie Versions CD+DVD Type A and CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B, and seven member editions. I have all the Limited Sexy and Cutie versions but not yet the member versions. I don't usually collect those early on as they are pretty basic with just a member CD plate. My copy of the Cutie Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B was second hand and came with the following contents:

  • CD - 6 Track Album
  • Photobook
  • Photocard

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun - Single Review Cutie Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B
The single has the same design as the Sexy Version but feature the Cutie concept and a pink/aqua green colour scheme. The photobook is separate from the case and is the same size as the other version. Photos of the members in cute sporty themed outfits are the concept of the Cutie version and the girls wore the same outfits in the dance version of the MV. I love the colours of this single as I'm always a fan of pastel schemes and it matches well with the tennis court background of the main photo. The track listing is shown on the back cover along with production credits.

The interior of the single is the same as the Sexy Version but this time 胸キュン Mune Kyun is written in a different font. Both fonts are just gorgeous and the stunning CD design is featured once again. Still one of my favourite designs in my collection.

Shopdo Update

Super quick Shopdo update because I've had a super busy day and want to get this up before Monday finishes. Keeping the Valentine's inspired interior once again and the outfits belong to some lovely themes this week. First is a basic Baby-Doll coordinate as they are always popular and fun to make. I went with a simple pink toned outfit featuring a striped pannier skirt. The second outfit is a mash-up of girly and baby-doll images. I've been wanting to try out a biker jacket with some Marble Lily items for a little while now and it looks amazing! Definitely will try some more image combinations in the future. Lastly we have a girly outfit because why not? Went with some deeper pink tones and a beautiful floral headband. You can find all three outfits at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Shopdo Visits - The Mega Post

This is going to be one mega post as I've been visiting a lot of Shopdo's recently and haven't done one of these style of posts for ages. I went through all the boutiques I had saved to my favourites in the game and visited them all. These boutiques were saved as favourites for a variety of reasons; boutique design, character or catalogue outfits.

First off was this boutique which I assumed the person was a fan of Jennie from Blackpink as all her outfits were named after her. Her character even had a Jennie inspired outfit on! I thought that was super cute and who doesn't love a bit of Blackpink? I love their Japanese album, especially Playing With Fire. I hope they bring out an English album now that they are signed to a US label, I'd love to see some new tracks from them.

Next is some random boutiques I visited and I have to say that I adore all their outfits! People have such unique ideas that I would've never done myself. The first player has the most gorgeous gothic/baby-doll inspired outfit using one of my favourite new dresses in the game. I think I saved the fourth boutique with the chic player as I loved their boutique layout. It's so elegant and sophisticated and reminds me of real life boutique.

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun - Single Review (Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B)

Haven't had an AOA review for a while so I thought I would post one. Last year I got a few editions of their Japanese single 胸キュン Mune Kyun which was one I had been after for a while. This is my favourite song from the group and the Japanese version is my favourite version of it as well. Let's take a look at one of the many editions of the single, the Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B.

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B

胸キュン Mune Kyun is AOA's third Japanese single and is the Japanese version of their hit Korean song Heart Attack. The single was released in eleven editions: Limited Sexy Versions CD+DVD Type A and CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B, Limited Cutie Versions CD+DVD Type A and CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B, and seven member editions. Boy that's a lot of editions! I currently have all the Sexy and Cutie versions but not the member editions. I brought my copy of the Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B used and it came with the following contents:

  • CD - 6 Track Album
  • Photobook
  • Photocard

AOA 胸キュン Mune Kyun Sexy Version CD+PHOTOBOOK Type B

The design of this edition reminds me of K-Pop releases as it looks like a book you open. I haven't had too many J-Pop releases like this so it was a surprise. I'm more of a jewel case person for J-Pop releases as I love having my collection look symmetrical. Both the Sexy and Cutie Type B editions have the same sized book, just with different images. I'll post a review of the Cutie version next. The Sexy version has the group posing in sporty outfits on the front with a pastel colour scheme which I'm always a fan of. The back cover has the group logo along with the track listing and production information about the release. I love how Japanese releases list the release date on the back as it makes it so easy to catalogue my collection.

When you open up the single, you will notice that the photobook isn't actually held in place like normal K-Pop releases. I was quite surprised by this and wasn't expecting it to pop out. The interior design of 胸キュン Mune Kyun is pretty basic but the CD has gorgeous Japanese lettering on it. One of my favourite CD designs I've seen for a while and it fits the simplistic feel of the design.

Shopdo Update

Had such a busy day today but I've finally found some time to post this weeks Shopdo Update before the day ends. Keeping with the Valentine's Day inspired boutique interior, I've got three new pink themed outfits. The first being a chic themed outfit thats perfect for a classy Valentine's event. Added in my fave pair of glasses from Enid Chen of course! THe second outfit is a psychedelic look for all those quirky lovers out there. I tried to use some items I rarely use from the brand such as this button up tee and shorts. It's crazy but somehow works. The third and final outfit is a simple girly themed outfit featuring some stripey items. I found these shorts that match perfectly with this outer, I really need to spend more time finding matching sets as I've been discovering quite a few lately. You can find all these outfits as well as my character in a lovely designer outfit from the Design Centre at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

New Style Boutique: Play Journal - Memories

So I've been playing New Style Boutique for a little while now and it's quite enjoyable. I totally forgot about how simple the games were back then and how bags being added in was a massive feature. So many classic items you see in teh game now can be found in this installment and I've been crazy trying to collect items again. Think I've brought out every Miss Ribbon items I can get my hands on.

Here's a cute photo of my character and Evie hanging out at the park then my character taking part in a photo shoot at the photo studio. I totally forgot that the photo studio doesn't let you choose you poses and takes three random photos for you. I was playing New Style Boutique 2 the other day and couldn't figure out why I could not find certain poses. Turns out my brain was fixed on the giant selection of poses from Styling Star and was expecting them to turn up. It's a bit boring to only have a few poses in New Style Boutique but you do get some great shots suggested to you to pick from.

I've opened up all the brands at the Exhibition Hall and the brand representatives gave me some super cute outfits. I forgot that not every brand is open each day so I've had to wait a few times to stock up on feminine cardigans and girly camisoles. As I mentioned before, I've been hanging out at Miss Ribbon the most out of all the brands. I'm just so interested in seeing which items used to belong to the brand and most I've been being to pick out myself. Some were a new experience for me as I didn't recall them being part of the glam style. A lot of items from Marble Lily in Fashion Forward actually came from Miss Ribbon, that really surprised me.

Dream Ami Wonderland - Single Review (CD Only Edition)

Since Dream Ami has just announced her eighth single Good Goodbye scheduled for release in March, I thought it was the perfect time to finally post a review of her last single Wonderland. I brought the CD Only edition of the single last year but have yet to post about it on Marzipan Wonderland. And talk about amazing, the single has the same word in it as my blog name. It was like fate brought us together

CD Only Edition of Wonderland

Wonderland is Dream Ami's seventh single and was released in October 2018. The single is available in two editions: CD Only and CD+DVD. This is the first Dream Ami release to only have two editions and there is no One Coin editions like her previous singles. I got the CD Only edition as that is the usual edition I currently collected from Dream Ami. The single comes with the following contents:

  • CD - 4 Track Album
  • Lyrics Booklet
  • Jewel Case
  • Cardboard Sleeve
  • Plastic Sleeve with promo sticker

Wonderland single in the plastic sleeve

This single brings a new colour scheme to Dream Ami's releases which is a beautiful lilac purple. All her previous releases have been in the tones of pinks, blues and reds. I just cannot choose my ultimate favourite single design as they are all so wonderful, but this one would definitely be tied for first. The aesthetics of the single still have her signature pastel tones and the cardboard sleeve has that elegant matte feel to it like all the other singles. Dream Ami has the best single/album designs out of all the artists I collect honestly. They always put so much care and thought into designing them and they are a billion times better than some of the awful E-girls covers she was in. The front cover of the cardboard sleeve and jewel case have different photos which is nice. Wonderland has the same photo on both back covers though unlike previous releases which had different ones. The photos included in the single are inspired by the miniature concept of the MV for Wonderland.

Shopdo Update - Valentine's Themed Boutique

Since a new month is upon us, I thought it would switch up the boutique interior on my Shopdo. I was inspired by Valentine's Day to go with a pretty in pink look. More on the new boutique look later as we should get straight to the new outfits! I decided to go with an all pink themed this week to match the new interior of course (and also because pink is my favourite colour). The first look is a classic outfit that we've all seen before - the beautiful pink toned dress from Marzipan Sky. Love this new style of dresses to the game! The second outfit is an old school Baby-Doll coordinate featuring some bright hot pink tones. Basically I just threw whatever together than matched this dress and it seemed that there were quite a few items that matched it. The final outfit is another girly look inspired by flowers and this biker jacket. I've been super into these lately and wanted to create a girly look built around it. You can find this rocking outfit as well as the other two at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Also quick thanks for all the Shopdo likes as I recently went over 4000 likes! Whoo! So exciting to reach that milestone. Seems my outfits are the most popular aspect of my Shopdo. I find that strange because I'm the opposite when it comes to giving likes on Shopdo. I give out heaps of personal and shop likes rather than catalogue ones. I guess they are quicker to give out than having to load the catalogue.

Here is the new Valentine's inspired look of my boutique. I swear I've done a similar layout many times before, I guess I just love pink that much! The boutique has a mixture of girly, baby-doll and feminine touches to it and there was too many cute miniatures to choose from for the tables. My character and my assistant have on some of my designer items to match the pink tones of the new look.

Style Boutique 2 Room Address Update: Luxury Palace

For February's Caprice Chalet room, I thought I'd get a little fancy and upload the luxurious room I designed a few years ago. It's only a simple room but it goes overboard with elegance. The room is titled Luxury Palace and you can download it in Style Boutique 2 at the room address 180-239-9851.

The main inspiration for this room designed was trying to find the right combination of items that got customers to rent the room out as a luxurious room. Basically you have to use the luxury couch and the Palace wall and flooring. Then I just put in some expensive looking miniatures like the mantel clock and glass slipper. The red curtains worked perfectly to create that rich mansion appearance and I even forgot they were miniatures for a second and though they were part of the wallpaper!

January Favourites

First monthly favourites post of 2019! Actually did a fair amount of stuff this month so I'll have some things to report on. So let's get straight into it!

Gaming
I was super into New Style Boutique during the month of January and played it a fair amount. I'm talking about the 2nd game in the series, known as New Style Boutique in Europe and Australia. It's fun seeing a different style of game after playing the other instalments so much. Loving the Miss Ribbon brand as well and it's interesting to see how many items originally belonged to that brand. Here's a quick photo of my character I took at the photo studio!

Music
I haven't posted about them yet, but I got two new K-Pop albums off eBay recently. The albums were the 1st Mini Album Would You Like? from WJSN and the 2nd Single MAYDAY from April. The packaging of both albums is just gorgeous and the April one has my favourite packaging by far of all the albums I've recently collected. It also fits perfectly with my other April single Boing Boing. I have the WJSN mini album on another J-Pop/K-Pop shelf and it fits perfectly with my Nature and Orange Caramel singles. These shelves are where I keep my larger albums that aren't jewel case releases. Most of those are in some IKEA shelving that fits CD's and DVD's perfectly and I have more in IKEA boxes because my CD collection is too big for the space I have shelf wise.
