MODEL Debut2 #nicola - Adding to the Portfolio

I need to learn not to take as many screenshots when I play games as I always have a giant stack of them to sort through afterwards. That camera button is probably the most used on my switch! Today I have some snaps from MODEL Debut2 #nicola with some lovely photos I took for various jobs. Starting off with this new portrait I took of my character and this is one of my favourite hairstyles in the game.

The next modelling job was a fun one as I got to take a duo shot with Yuika! We decided on a girly image in the colour pink. Sounds perfect to me as I love those elements. I do wish the text all happened on one screen to make it easier to follow along. There are so many scene changes and characters talking.

MODEL Debut2 #nicola - Make-up Time!

There is a fun modelling job in MODEL Debut2 #nicola today and it focuses on make-up which is new! My job was to put together an outfit featuring pink eyeshadow and it was cool to have a different type of photo shoot. All the ones I've done before have focused on outfits and I like how varied the game is with the requests.

Here are a bunch of make-up selection menus you go through when doing the photo shoot. I went for a make-up look with shades of pink closer to the pink side rather than red end of the colour spectrum. The blush seemed a bit too much but looking back it could've worked. I've never been a heavy blush person and even in real life I find it tricky to find the right balance. Especially since I am quite pale and want it to show in photos but not go overboard. The pink lens could be interpreted as dramatic and they just seemed like the best ones.

MODEL Debut2 #nicola - New Friends & Jobs

Large amount of screenshots for this MODEL Debut2 #nicola play journal as this was from a long play session. I managed to cover a few parts of the game during this play through and took some lovely photos as well! Starting off is the next modelling job and the theme is a sweet inspired look using an item with lace.

Once again, it was a challenge to pick an outfit that I liked and there was too many choices for the bottom half of the outfit. I wanted to go with a pink and black themed outfit as I found this nice top that had lace details to it. Quite a few skirt choices to go through and something with flow to it felt right. The first skirt is cute but the mini length didn't feel right.

MODEL Debut2 #nicola Play Journal - Far Behind

Whilst scrolling through the screenshots on my Nintendo Switch, I noticed that I had stacks of screenshots from MODEL Debut2 #nicola that never made it onto the blog. So I made myself a goal to clear out my backlog of pictures and be up to date with my play journals. I totally didn't know I had taken that many screenshots. Get ready for lots of blog posts about this game and of course the third installment in the series which I started recently.

Starting off with a new modelling job and this one has the theme of a pink bag. Of course I went for an entirely pink outfit! I had a lot of fun with this one and ended up with this hot pink coordinate. The bags are well animated in MODEL Debut and I like how they sit on characters more than Style Boutique.

MODEL debut2 #nicola Play Journal - Introduction to GIRL's BOX

In last weeks MODELdebut2 #nicola play journal, I talked about unlocking the hall where you can buy clothes and boy is there a lot of clothes! This is only one brand as well! I actually didn't even buy much as I was enjoying just looking at the ones available. The game is similar to Style Boutique in which there are tabs for each type of clothing. You have your usual tops, bottoms, shoes and then you get subsections in each part. This blog post probably won't have much text and will be very image heavy as I have a fair amount of screenshots to share. The brand I'll be sharing today is called GIRL's BOX and the game called it fashion shop according to my google translate. This brand feels very girly like Marzipan Sky and the items have a youthful and casual look to them. 

First set of screenshots are the inners and tops which come in a range of styles and colours. Looks like a number of these inner items would work great paired with tops and I've even done that with my character at the end of this post. There is a good mix of pastel and bright toned items with some reminding me of AZ-USA or April Bonbon. I had a good laugh at some of the prints on the tops as they were legit just stock photos stuck onto the clothing. I've included one screenshot of a top that was a photo of ice-creams on a stand.

MODEL debut2 #nicola Play Journal - A Change in Hairstyle

I'm back with another MODEL debut2 #nicola play journal! This game is the best game on the Nintendo Switch hands down!!! I think I'm just over hyped because I finally have a fashion simulator to play on there. Now onto the play journal and for this first screenshot, I cannot remember what the context on this was. Something about a meeting? Who knows as its time for a new modelling job! Chihiro is pleased so far with my work for the magazine and with clients. In the last play journal, time rolled over to a new month in-game which means new jobs have opened up!

The theme for the next job is a lovely hair focused advertisement and I'm super excited as I get the chance to change my hair style! Whilst this doesn't unlock the actual hair salon part of the game, it is nice to see some different looks and shake it up a bit. There was too many beautiful styles to choose from :( I couldn't make a decision! I really liked the third hairstyle as the cut was gorgeous and I wish my bangs looked that good.

MODEL debut2 #nicola Play Journal - Too Cute Poses & Outfits

In my previous play journal for MODEL debut2 #nicola, I started my career off as a model and took a photo for my model portfolio. Today it is time to take part in my first advertisement! I've been enjoying this game way too much since I started playing. So I was rather excited to see how the advert part worked for the photoshoots. To start off, here is the map layout for the game and as you can see not much is available at the start of the game. There is the Nicola company building and you can also access your apartment.

The game sent me to the Nicola headquarters to meet with Chihiro who is the editor-in-chief of the editorial department. She asked me to join the magazine for some work from now on and Shiori was pleased with the news. Both of these characters kind of remind me of Evie from the Style Boutique series. There is a note in the bottom right hand corner that informs the player that photos can be taken with the Y button. I've just been taking them with the screen capture button on the switch which works basically the same.

From this location which is called the Nicola editing department, you can accept various jobs for the Nicola company. The jobs have different themes with these one styling around aspects such as spring time or what my google translate app calls 'glitter bag girl coordination'. I'm interpreting that as a bold inspired look I guess. I selected the one of the jobs which was for a spring time outfit featuring certain clothing items. It required a skirt and top from Hanagara. I'm still 100% new to this so I'm still figuring out what all of this means. It is super fun even though challenging as the search feature is way different to the one I'm used to in Style Boutique. A new tutorial screen appears to instruct on how to use the clothing search feature to find suitable items. I'm slowing getting used to it and have managed to find most themes I'm after.

August Favourites

Winter is finally over even though the first day of Spring here was absolutely freezing! It was 7 degrees at my house this morning when I left for work and I was rugged up when I got there too. So over this cold weather and hopefully it will warm up soon with some lovely spring weather. Onto the monthly favourites now!

Gaming

I started a new challenge in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star this month called the One Year Challenge! I've posted a few outfits already and you can check out the first theme which is hearts here. This challenge looks like it will be a fun one and definitely a challenge to post outfits every week for a year. The current schedule for the challenge posts is on Saturdays (Australian time) and I will make up a page for the challenge soon.

The other gaming news for the blog is that I have started playing MODEL debut2 #nicola on the Nintendo Switch. It is a fashion simulation game from Japan and I love it to death! It is super cute and I throughly enjoy the editing part of the game where you can design your advertisement. I've only posted one play journal so far for the game but I have another one lined up for early September. How gorgeous does my character look in the game? I haven't unlocked different hair colours or styles yet but I cannot wait to change it to something else fun.

Stationery

Headed to the local bookstore in town this month armed with some gift vouchers! I get them through training modules at work and it's a fun reward to pick out a new book. I actually ended up using the vouchers for this adorable Pusheen re-usuable tote bag and sticker set. I'm crazy at Pusheen branded merch and I've used the bag quite a lot. It's great for throwing into a small bag to take with me whilst I go shopping. The stickers are lovely as I didn't have any of Pusheen in my collection yet and they are good quality. The other item I got from Dymocks was this Standard Issue planner notebook which is more of a notebook than a planner. I think it uses the term planner as there are dates available on the pages. The cover is hard and the pages lie open flat when you open the notebook. A very nice stylish notebook which I'm looking forward to using once I finish off one of my journal notebooks.

The first play journal of MODEL Debut2 #nicola is here! I've been playing a fair bit of the game recently and I love it so much! It is super fun and all the clothing items are gorgeous! It is definitely filling that Style Boutique void in my heart. Doesn't the title screen look adorable? I quite like the character models in this game and they are well animated in the game when you talk to characters. The girls on the far left have the cutest outfits and I've actually tried similar looks myself in the game.

The first part of the game is the character customisation of course! There are a wealth of items to choose from and easily scroll through. You basically move through the categories on the top and select one from the box below. The categories for face customisation are: eyes, face shape, eye type and placement, lips, eyebrows and skin tone.

モデルデビュー2 ニコラ MODEL Debut2 #nicola!!!

Earlier this week I received a very special parcel in the mail and I am way too excited for this! I brought a Nintendo Switch game from Japan called MODEL Debut2 #nicola which is a fashion simulator game. Now I'm sure my readers by now have figured out that I really like fashion simulator games as I tend to post a lot about the Style Boutique series haha. Unfortunately Style Boutique is not available on the Switch and there isn't many fashion titles out there. So I'm rather excited to get hold of this game to live out my fashion dreams!

Originally I wasn't planning on buying this at all but decided to after a conversation with some friends. We were discussing cute games on the switch and I brought up MODEL Debut #nicola which is first game in this series. Once I googled it, I discovered there was a sequel released only just last year. Then that was all I could think about it! So I ended up ordering a copy from YesAsia because I thought why not? I've been dying for a fashion game on the Switch and this is the best thing I have available. I did buy some k-pop albums as well from YesAsia which I will post about soon.

The game is known as モデルデビュー2 ニコラ in Japan and there is a fair amount of information about the game online. It is based on a magazine targeted towards girls that is released in Japan and the 3DS had a game by the same magazine called Girls Fashion Shoot. MODEL Debut2 #nicola is a sequel to the first switch game and the graphics have definitely been improved! I love the poses on all the characters and the outfits look gorgeous. There are a number of activities you can do in the game such as coordinate outfits, take part in photoshoots and advertising campaigns or change hair and makeup. There is even a dating simulator part of the game apparently! I haven't got up to that yet so I cannot comment on it too much.
