Disney Magical World - Marvellous Memories

Even after having the game for a long time now, I still haven't been able to 100% complete Disney Magical World. I still have a number of season specific clothing items to unlock along with 6 cards to collect. Since I haven't been making much progress in either of those departments, I thought it would be nice to share some photos I have taken of my adventures in the game. Now you can save photos you take in Disney Magical World but you cannot transfer them from the game onto the 3DS. Such a silly system, like do they just save in game and not on the SD card like every other game. So I ended up just taking photos of the in-game photos on my phone so please excuse the terrible quality of the photos.

First off are my photos from seasonal events and I have to say Halloween has my favourite costumes in the game. I really wish you could get the main character (i.e. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, etc) costumes to craft. I had the same thought in Disney Magical World 2 as I loved their outfits at Halloween and New Years. Daisy has the best Halloween outfit and Minnie and Mickey have super adorable New Years outfits that they wear in game at the start of the New Year.

December Favourites & Blog Update

I'm so glad that December is finally over and the new year is here because the last month has been a hectic one. It's the busiest time at work so it's been flat out but thankfully it's quietened down now. December was also busy with some Christmas stuff so I didn't get up to whole lot of stuff. But still some worthy mentions so let's get on with my December Favourites!

Gaming
I've been playing this game on Steam called Voodoo Garden which I've talked about before. It's a clicker style game with beautiful art design and is quite cheap as well if you want to pick it up in the current Steam sale. Almost finished the game this month achievement wise. I've filled up my entire garden and unlocked everything but I only have one achievement left to get. I quite enjoy clicker style games so if you have any recommendations for ones on Steam, leave them in the comments below!

In Disney Magical World, I finally got all the Christmas and Winter themed furniture and recipes. The Christmas items were rather cute and it was fun to throw a Christmas party on the 25th. I believe I'm only missing one or two winter season clothing items and other than that, I've just been collecting cards. Planning on collecting cards for January then trading them at the end of the month. Only missing a few cards now to complete the set of 300 and it's so frustrating never getting ones I need.

Music
Been super into After School recently and have been listening to some of their Korean releases non-stop. Mainly I've been into Cheot Sarang 첫사랑 (First Love) - The 6th Maxi Single which has perfect songs on it. The title track from their Virgin album is another favourite this month. I love the early sound of After School like the songs off the New Schoolgirl release. Virgin reminds me of those so I think that's why I enjoy it so much.

Stationery
Finally was able to use my new 2019 Diary which is the kikki.K Weekly Diary in the Sweet design. I had the same diary in 2018 which I reviewed here so I decided to get one again for 2019 as I liked the layout and design of the diary. I will post a more in depth review soon but here's a sneak peak at the diary. I got it back in October as a gift when it was available in the gift set with some bookmarks and a pen.

October Favourites

My favourite month of the year has ended sadly. October is my favourite month for various reasons, one being that the weather finally warms up. However October here wasn't actually that warm, only two or three days above 30. Halloween was great, we ended up having quite a few trick or treaters! Mainly young children in super adorable costumes. I brought a bag of Milky Ways to give out because who doesn't love Milky Ways. I had a few left, maybe I'll go eat them after this post. Anyway, here are my top things for October!

Gaming
Finally collected all the Halloween & Nightmare Before Christmas items in Disney Magical World. Had to reset the game a few times to get the skeleton counter as the request didn't want to spawn. I also managed to finally get the last items to craft the remaining outfit items I was missing. So now I'm only missing some fall and winter specific items and less than 10 cards. The card thing is frustrating as I cannot get the last Daisy card! I got Minnie's somehow the other day and Daisy just keeps giving the same ones and not the Super Rare. Sigh, maybe this month I'll get it from her. I hate random chance in games, makes everything take so much longer.

Music
No new CD's this month but I'm planning on getting Dream Ami and MOMOLAND's new releases next month. Just still trying to decide which versions of BAAM from MOMOLAND to get, leaning towards Type A because I adore the bumblebee style outfits the girls wear on it.

Thinking about getting this version of BAAM.

This month I've actually been listening to some non K-Pop and J-Pop music. Shocking isn't it. I was going through my MP3 player at the gym and decided to listen to some of the older albums in my collection. Many years ago, I was a hardcore fan of this Australian rock band called The Living End. I used to collect all their releases and track down rare promo discs from the band. I've been listening to some of their older stuff recently and thinking about picking up their recent release as well. Here's their most well-known song Prisoner Of Society which was a staple for all the summer music festivals when the band was on the line-up.

Beauty
Managed to track down another flavour of the Kiss Therapy lip balms from Lipsmacker. This time it was the Grapefruit one which is my new favourite. It smells like Passionfruit soft drink (or Pasito as the Kirks brand is called) which is my favourite soft drink besides Raspberry and Vanilla Coke. So strawberry is the only flavour I'm missing now but I'm guessing it's just your standard strawberry scent. Not a huge fan of strawberry lip balms as they are a bit boring and overpowering sometimes.

Stationary
So my friend and I were in one of the Japanese stores in town a few weeks ago and I came across the best sticker set ever. I was so excited when I saw this Maru the Shiba themed stickers. Omg they are just so adorable! The tennis racket one is my favourite. They also had round shaped stickers with similar images of Maru.

During the same trip to town, I found this Winnie the Pooh stamp set from Daiso. It is similar to another stamp set I had brought previously from there and is a decent stamp. You need to be precise with the pressure to get a good print with it and to be careful not the bleed the ink through certain typse of paper. I'm going to blog about my stamp collection in November so keep an eye out for that!

My Top 10 Video Games

On this blog, I often post about the game series Style Boutique for Nintendo 3DS. Well today, I thought we'd take a look at other games that I love playing and series that I've grown up with. This post will contain my Top 10 Video Games from various consoles and reasons why I'm fond of them. So in no particular order, here are my Top 10 Video Games!

Rollercoaster Tycoon Series
Easily the best theme park management game by far, the Rollercoaster Tycoon games allow you to build your own theme park or work through pre-built ones in different scenarios. I'm quite fascinated by theme parks (especially defunct/abandoned ones) in real life so it would only be suitable to enjoy a theme park simulator. I have the three-pack of the series on Steam, but I tend to play OpenRCT2 and the third game the most. OpenRCT2 is a modded version of the game that tends to run more smoothly on my PC than the first one (it always seems to crash whenever I built a chair lift) and you can turn on some hilarious cheats. Mad Mouse style roller coasters would be my favourite style of ride to build as they are my favourite style in real life.

One of my current parks in OpenRCT2

The Sims Series
Nowadays this game gets a bit of a bad wrap with all it's ridiculous expansions and prices, but back in the day, The Sims was the hottest game. I remember a time when a new Sims 1 game would come out and you'd go hang out at your friends house all day playing it. It was our multiplayer and we'd play it for hours only taking a break for jumping in the pool or walking to the local deli for some Paddle Pops and chips. Hot Date and Pets were the popular ones but when Making Magic came out, it used to crash everyone's computers. Sims 2 was amazing and we'd never seen expansion packs like it had before. Open For Business was my favourite and I would always turn my house into a entertainment venue all the time. I wasn't into Sims 3 at the time it was out as I didn't play much video games then but I have the expansion packs on Steam now and play it from time to time. Sims 4 is a bit restrictive with a lot of elements, but I like the realistic style and new in-depth features to the characters. I only have Get To Work and Get Together and I quite like them. Lazy Game Reviewer on Youtube has the best Sims play throughs and reviews, I always enjoy the silliness of his Sims 1 play through.

Disney Magical World
This favourite is an interesting one, I knew nothing about the game for years after it's release until I read about the second instalment in a Japanese magazine. I was interested at the concept of a Disney style game that was part RPG, part crafting and part collectable gatherer. Luckily after noticing Disney Magic Castle My Happy Life 2 ディズニー マジック キャッスル マイ ハッピー ライフ 2 in the magazine, the western version of the game Disney Magical World 2 was announced for release in a few weeks. So my friends and I each got copies of the game and we loved it! The outfits were super adorable and the quests were challenging. I picked up the first game Disney Magical World a while after and I'm still playing it today. The second game is much better, the first one has too much grinding for random items that never appear and whilst the cards are cute, I'm stuck on the last 15.

My favourite NPC in the game: Carrot Man

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
We used to have a copy of this on our PC back when it first came out and I used to play on my siblings save to collect the hidden packages. I just liked exploring the colourful 1980's environment in the game more than missions. Now that I'm older, I don't mind the missions at all. I have the Steam version which is awfully buggy at times, but still a classic. The soundtrack is totally killer and the game has a wonderful story line full of interesting characters. Vice City would have to be the best GTA game for me due to the amazing open world, story line and introduced me to a lot of great 80's tunes.

May Favourites & Blog Update

The last day of May brings the end of Autumn and soon the beginning of winter. However it's been freezing cold here recently so it could've been winter already. Nicer weather the past few days, so hopefully it stays that way for a little while. Anyway, time for my monthly favourites! I've also written a little update on the blog at the end of this post about my plans for future posts.

Gaming
Goes without saying, been playing New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star of course! Managed to get a few new customers in my boutique recently and I've seen the chased the story line girls off for a while thankfully. Besides Style Boutique, I'm still grinding away at Disney Magical World trying to craft all the items. I'm stuck at the moment trying to obtain rare items like the Rainbow Clover and Fairy Diamond Bubbles to make some items. Other than that, I collected all the Easter set and just waiting for other holidays later this year to get more items for the 100% collection. I took this funny photo from the game that I thought was amusing as it wasn't Easter in the game anymore. Easter started in-game after Easter had occurred in the real world. Excuse the camera photo as you cannot move photos from the game off the 3DS as they aren't stored on the SD Card.

It's not Easter anymore!

Besides 3DS games, I'm looking forward to a game on Steam called House Flipper. It was released recently, but I'm waiting till it comes on sale during one of the many Steam sales to pick it up. I find it quite fascinating and interesting as the game lets you basically remodelled a house and decorate the interior. Sounds right up my alley!

Music
Got a bunch of new singles and albums this month which I've posted about before so I've been listening to them. Besides those, I've really been into E-girls latest release Showtime. Haven't got the new album just yet as I'm saving up to get the top version, but I've been streaming the album on Spotify. No stand out faves just yet, but Showtime is definitely on that list.

Another song I've been into this month was (G)Idle's debut song Latata. Loved it from the first listen! Looking forward to seeing what their future releases are like and I need to make time to listen to their debut album as I've seen people raving about it.

There's a few more new tracks that came out this month that I haven't had a chance to listen to yet like AOA's new release Bingle Bangle. Really need to work on getting some new music on my MP3 so I can listen to them at the gym and in the car.

Television
This month I've been super invested in watching Produce 101 China. I'm so obsessed with this show and personally I prefer this version over the Korean one (season 1). I find the China one is a bit more positive and less drama. My fave girl so far is Gao Qiuzi because of her upbeat personality and hilarious antics. Plus she's actually quite talented in singing and dancing. I'm actually quite fond of all the girls on a show so it's hard to narrow down my top faves. Yamy and Sunhee are pretty cool and I've become more interested in Meiqi who is from WJSN. I'll definitely need to look her past performances up! I've linked the theme song MV below and be sure to look up the episodes (they are subbed too) if you are interested in watching this amazing show.

January Favourites

The first month of 2018 has just flown by! Can't believe it's the end of January already and it will be February tomorrow. Or as I like to call it, the one month that is impossible to spell. This month I managed to put out quite a few blog posts and I'm proud of myself for keeping this blog updated regularly. I've got ideas for future blog posts so it should be an exciting year. Anyway onto the monthly favourites!

Gaming
Once again, I've been playing a variety of games this month. Been playing a bit of Style Boutique 3 of course and have been posting play journals here of my adventures. Trying to collect clothing items currently and I wish you could make money at the other shops as I need all the dollars I can get to buy new items!

A cute mannequin display I made this month.

Still playing Disney Magical World on the 3DS. There was a moment a while ago where I absolutely hated the game as I could never get the items I need as they drop randomly. The cafe parties are the biggest issue for me currently. I've managed to get the Minnie Star Medal one, but I'm having difficulty with the Donald one at the moment. I've held three 8 combo parties and he still won't give me a medal. Ugh, this game. However I had made a significant dent in completing the furniture collection. I just wish the items cost less coins to craft as some are like 1200000!

Last month I brought this cute game on Steam called Castaway Paradise which is kinda like Animal Crossing. I've been playing it quite a bit this month and it's rather enjoyable. I'm slowly working on doing landscaping on the island, just waiting until I unlock the garden pack as I really want the stone walls that come with it. I only have one more stone bridge to unlock and then I've completed all the puzzle pieces parts of the game. I wish the quests were a bit more varied and that you could reject them. I hate the donate a shell to the museum one as I literally have only two more to donate for the collection but haven't come across them. Only have four more Steam achievements to unlock in the game and one is for growing all the flowers in the game. So I've set up this little area on the island to grow each type of flower. I still have quite a few to unlock as I'm only at Level 26 currently. The hydrangea flowers would be my favourite style of flower, but I'd like to try and plant a variety of types around the island once I know what they all look like.

My little flower area in Castaway Paradise

Growing some vegetables!

Music
Didn't get any new albums this month, but I've exploring Yahoo Auctions for good deals on albums on my wishlist. So hopefully this year I'll pick up a few bargains of J-Pop albums I've been wanting for a while. Music wise, I've been loving E-girls still especially the E.G. Crazy album. It's just so amazing! I'd rank it as my number one album of all time now as all the tracks are perfect. Even if I don't like a track, I always play the album in the car and I start loving it!

Art
I wish I had more time for art, but it was something I missed doing this month. I managed to squeeze in some time to experiment with galaxy paintings with watercolours. I know I'm super late to the trend, but they are just so intriguing. I love watching videos of artists making them on instagram. I tried making one myself, but I used just cheap Monte Marte paper (Australian brand you can buy at discount stores here) and some random white acrylic paint I had lying around for the stars. It turned out ok and I definitely learnt the dos and does of the galaxy paintings. The watercolour paint I used is the Sakura Koi brand. It was a fun little project and I'm looking forward to trying it out again.

My attempt at a galaxy painting with watercolours.

Sewing
This month I started working on a new sewing project. Unfortunately didn't get to finish it this month like I was originally planning, but it's getting there. I've been making the Romper from this New Look pattern 6373 which is view B on the pattern. It has been a good pattern to work with as it had some new techniques I had actually never tried. I've been sewing for years, but only really stuck with dresses and skirts. So it was interesting trying something new. The fabric I'm using is quite hard to work with but looks stunning as it has this amazing paint splatter pattern on it. Looks great with the flounce part of the outfit.

October Favourites

Another month has passed so here are my favourites for the month of October!

Gaming
Still playing Disney Magical World and slowly working my way through it. I'm currently up to 82 stickers and cleared most of the episodes. I'm stuck on defeating the final boss in Aladdin's World and I'm having trouble upgrading the wand as I don't have access to the last item I need for it. It's hard to earn coins in this game compared to the second one so now I've got a system of playing the game a few times a day just to collect coins at the Cafe.

Also in gaming news, I'm super excited for the release of New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star! I can't believe a new one came out so quickly, I'm still playing the second one. I've played the demo a few times and it seems the game is similar to New Style Boutique. The in-game clock system is going to drive me nuts though, I prefer the 3DS clock one.

Music
Didn't pick up any new albums this month, I'm saving up to get E-girls E.G. Crazy album and Dream Ami's Try Everything single. I really wanted to get Dream Ami's album she released this month but it was just too expensive and I already owned nearly all the tracks. That's one thing that frustrates me about j-pop albums, they often have songs I already brought in single form. I would've loved to have gotten the CD+DVD+Photobook version of her album as the cover was stunning, but it's a bit too out of my budget.

Isn't this Dream Ami cover so gorgeous?

Art
My friend got my some gifts this month from Daiso which has the cutest and quirkiest stationery. A while ago we were in Daiso and found this hilarious pencil caps which are just caps you put on top of your pencil. Turns out my friend brought me a packet and they're actually quite good. It's handy to use on coloured or drawing pencils when you carrying them around in a pencil case. I also got some decorative tape which as an interesting case. It's kinda like a click pen, you click the top and the tape comes out the bottom. Then when you are finished, you just click it again and the tape retracts. I find it better than the usual white-out tape dispenser as I always seem to misplace the lid of mine. The BMO Badge shown in the picture was a gift as well and that comes from a company called We're All Mad Here. I have a super cute Lumpy Space Princess one from them as well that says Whatever It's 2009.

Toys
I had a gift card to use up recently so I decided to pick up two new Barbie Fashionista dolls for my collection. I used to be into Barbie collecting a long time ago, but stopped because my collection got too large (ended up selling half of it) and I wasn't interested in teh dolls that were out at the time. Now I've slowly been getting back into collecting mainly because of the amazing Fashionista dolls that Mattel produces. Fashionista dolls however are hard to get hold of in Australia and I rarely see new ones. I check all the toy stores and departments every week and they're still selling Fashionistas from 2016. I contacted Mattel and they said new ones aren't scheduled for release in Australia until next year which is annoying. Anyway I ended up getting Dolled Up In Dots (Number 13 Original) and Chambray Chic (Number 22 Curvy). I choose the Dolled Up one mainly for the outfit and I choose the Chambray Chic as I did not yet have a curvy doll and I really liked the face mold of this doll. I've already got a petite brunette doll in my collection so now I'm only missing a tall one to have all the different varieties. I also picked up a few outfit sets but I'm planning on making a post about Barbie's soon to cover those.

This month I came across the most adorable mug. Saw these cute Pokemon themed Halloween mugs in a store and they are just perfect! The top one is my favourite as I love the colours on it and how cute Pikachu looks in that Halloween outfit. Halloween merchandise from Japan is always amazing and if I lived there, my place would just be full of so much stuff (especially Rilakkuma which is my number one favourite).

September Favourites

The end of September is almost here so I thought I'd post a list of some of my favourite things from this month!

Gaming
Recently I got Disney Magical World and I've been playing it during my free time. I've got the second one which I've almost finished and the first one is quite different from the second. It's a lot more challenging trying to get items to craft items so it's taking a while to get anywhere in the game. I'm up to about 35 stickers so far which isn't too bad.

Music
Got a few new albums this month which were mainly j-pop ones. Other than that, I've been getting back into music I used to listen to before I got in kpop and jpop. Been on an 80's kick recently so I've been listening to Icehouse, Pet Shop Boys and Eurythmics. The radio plays at the place I work and it's always exciting when they play what they call 'old school music'. Now I wouldn't call 2011 old school, but when they start playing hits from 2006, it takes me back to listening to the same songs back in senior school.

Movies
I don't get to the movies too often considering I work next to one, but I managed to make it there this month. It was the 20th anniversary of Spiceworld this year and cinemas around the country where airing it to celebrate. I went to the screening the other night and it was amazing! I hadn't seen a movie in this particular cinema room (I usually go to ones in the smaller cinemas) but it was awesome to see it on the biggest screen the cinema has. It was really fun and I enjoyed feeling like I was back in the 1990's as a kid singing along to the hits of the Spice Girls.

Books
Haven't had the chance to read too many books this month, but at the start of September I did read Scooter Girl. Originally I had seen it in a local comic shop when I was in there with friends. However I came across it at my library so I thought I'd hire it to read and I really enjoyed it! The story was interesting and I loved the mod feel to the story and characters.
