April Favourites

Somehow April just flew by and we are already nearly a week into May. Time just goes so quickly nowadays, it's hard to keep up with what month it is. I know it's a little bit late, but here are my favourites for the month of April!

Gaming
Still playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp and there was a fun event last month which was a fishing tourney. I managed to collect all the items and this tourney wasn't as hard as the Nintendo themed one. Loved the school uniform items you could collect and here's a cute picture of my workmate and I in the game wearing the uniforms. Don't we look adorable?

Actually been playing a little bit of Style Boutique last week because I thought of doing another One Item Challenge. This time it will be an item from Brooke Bridge and no idea when I'll post it as I haven't had the time to create all the outfits just yet.

Music
I have a massive amount of haul posts to put up on here of my recent additions to my collection. I posted a review of CD Japan the other day so check that out if you haven't seen it already. I was quite impressed with the site and will definitely be using it again. Here are the two CD's I got from there and I'm super excited for Dream Ami's new single which I've been listening to like crazy.

At the moment I'm reorganising my music collection which is a massive project. The idea behind this is that I'm having a huge pain trying to sync things between all these tech devices we have nowadays. Plus my new car doesn't have a CD player so I can't play my CD's in it anymore. A few years ago, I had an issue with my computer and it busted up my iTunes making the files all weird. Like I still have all my old stuff, just not the original files and everything is just one single file. So I decided the other day to refresh my whole collection and start from scratch. I want to make sure everything has a physical file now and a back-up in case I ever lose anything. Plus it will help me discover old tracks that I love and forgot about. Speaking of which, I've been listening to some old stuff recently from my collection so I'll post some in this months music favourites section.

Beauty
So the Lipsmacker Kiss Natural lipbalms that I loved are now out of stock where I live sadly. Luckily I still have some left to use up. I did however manage to melt one of them in a hilarious stupid fashion. I couldn't find my lipbalm at work and wondered where on earth I had lost it. Turns out it fell out of my backpack when it was unzipped in my car. So the lipbalm had been sitting on the seat the entire day and melted into the pill shape of the container. Like you can still use it, it just looks really silly now.

January Favourites

First monthly favourites post of 2019! Actually did a fair amount of stuff this month so I'll have some things to report on. So let's get straight into it!

Gaming
I was super into New Style Boutique during the month of January and played it a fair amount. I'm talking about the 2nd game in the series, known as New Style Boutique in Europe and Australia. It's fun seeing a different style of game after playing the other instalments so much. Loving the Miss Ribbon brand as well and it's interesting to see how many items originally belonged to that brand. Here's a quick photo of my character I took at the photo studio!

Music
I haven't posted about them yet, but I got two new K-Pop albums off eBay recently. The albums were the 1st Mini Album Would You Like? from WJSN and the 2nd Single MAYDAY from April. The packaging of both albums is just gorgeous and the April one has my favourite packaging by far of all the albums I've recently collected. It also fits perfectly with my other April single Boing Boing. I have the WJSN mini album on another J-Pop/K-Pop shelf and it fits perfectly with my Nature and Orange Caramel singles. These shelves are where I keep my larger albums that aren't jewel case releases. Most of those are in some IKEA shelving that fits CD's and DVD's perfectly and I have more in IKEA boxes because my CD collection is too big for the space I have shelf wise.

October Favourites

My favourite month of the year has ended sadly. October is my favourite month for various reasons, one being that the weather finally warms up. However October here wasn't actually that warm, only two or three days above 30. Halloween was great, we ended up having quite a few trick or treaters! Mainly young children in super adorable costumes. I brought a bag of Milky Ways to give out because who doesn't love Milky Ways. I had a few left, maybe I'll go eat them after this post. Anyway, here are my top things for October!

Gaming
Finally collected all the Halloween & Nightmare Before Christmas items in Disney Magical World. Had to reset the game a few times to get the skeleton counter as the request didn't want to spawn. I also managed to finally get the last items to craft the remaining outfit items I was missing. So now I'm only missing some fall and winter specific items and less than 10 cards. The card thing is frustrating as I cannot get the last Daisy card! I got Minnie's somehow the other day and Daisy just keeps giving the same ones and not the Super Rare. Sigh, maybe this month I'll get it from her. I hate random chance in games, makes everything take so much longer.

Music
No new CD's this month but I'm planning on getting Dream Ami and MOMOLAND's new releases next month. Just still trying to decide which versions of BAAM from MOMOLAND to get, leaning towards Type A because I adore the bumblebee style outfits the girls wear on it.

Thinking about getting this version of BAAM.

This month I've actually been listening to some non K-Pop and J-Pop music. Shocking isn't it. I was going through my MP3 player at the gym and decided to listen to some of the older albums in my collection. Many years ago, I was a hardcore fan of this Australian rock band called The Living End. I used to collect all their releases and track down rare promo discs from the band. I've been listening to some of their older stuff recently and thinking about picking up their recent release as well. Here's their most well-known song Prisoner Of Society which was a staple for all the summer music festivals when the band was on the line-up.

Beauty
Managed to track down another flavour of the Kiss Therapy lip balms from Lipsmacker. This time it was the Grapefruit one which is my new favourite. It smells like Passionfruit soft drink (or Pasito as the Kirks brand is called) which is my favourite soft drink besides Raspberry and Vanilla Coke. So strawberry is the only flavour I'm missing now but I'm guessing it's just your standard strawberry scent. Not a huge fan of strawberry lip balms as they are a bit boring and overpowering sometimes.

Stationary
So my friend and I were in one of the Japanese stores in town a few weeks ago and I came across the best sticker set ever. I was so excited when I saw this Maru the Shiba themed stickers. Omg they are just so adorable! The tennis racket one is my favourite. They also had round shaped stickers with similar images of Maru.

During the same trip to town, I found this Winnie the Pooh stamp set from Daiso. It is similar to another stamp set I had brought previously from there and is a decent stamp. You need to be precise with the pressure to get a good print with it and to be careful not the bleed the ink through certain typse of paper. I'm going to blog about my stamp collection in November so keep an eye out for that!

September Favourites

September is over and October is finally here. The shops are starting to fill up with Christmas stuff already and I'm going to be sick of it by November as usual. Halloween isn't big here in Australia so you don't see much of it in the shops, they go crazy with Christmas stuff instead. I'd rather see Halloween stuff because it's more fun and crazy. Anyway, here are my favourites for September 2018.

Gaming
This month, I took part in the 30 Day Cosplay Challenge in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star. The challenge finished up yesterday and I have to admit it was fun taking on the task of creating more challenging looks. I've created a round-up of all 30 outfits in the Challenge which you can find at the 30 Day Cosplay Challenge Page. Here's some of my favourite photos from the challenge:

Music
I did get a big Zenmarket haul the other day which I'll post on here soon as I got some exciting albums for my collection including multiple versions of AOA's 胸キュン Mune Kyun single.

My favourite solo artist Dream Ami released her 7th single recently titled Wonderland. The song is just too perfect for her and the MV is quite creative. I love the single covers for the song as well as they finally have a new colour scheme for her releases in this beautiful lilac purple. The physical single isn't due out till late October unfortunately so shall need to wait to get hold of it.

Finally a new colour scheme for Dream Ami's releases!

Beauty
Last month, I mentioned the Kiss Therapy by Lipsmacker and how I was interested in finding more flavours of the lip balm. Well I managed to track down the Eucalyptus Mint one at Chemist Warehouse (different store to where I found the Superfruit one). Honestly the Eucalyptus Mint isn't as nice as the Superfruit one and feels a bit more heavy on the lips. It would be good for when you have a cold as you can smell the Eucalyptus scent in it. The texture of the Superfruit lip balm is smoother from my experience and I use this one more. Still trying to find the Grapefruit and Strawberry flavours. I'm not huge on Strawberry scented lip balms but hopefully it will be as smooth as the Superfruit. I'm excited for Grapefruit as I intriuged at what smell it will have. The products are difficult to track down as not many shops stock them. The first Chemist Warehouse I got the Superfruit one at doesn't sell Lipsmackers anymore and the second one where I found Eucalytpus Mint was sold out of Strawberry. Might try some different Chemist Warehouses if I do into town again as there are a few within 100 metres of each other. Sounds silly doesn't it, but there is legit three Chemist Warehouses in the mall then another a few blocks away. Priceline states they sell them, but I'm yet to see them in store. Same with Big W as I can never find them even at the big stores. It's not like shops don't stock Lip Smacker, the range is quite big in most chemists and department stores.

August Favourites

This month went way too quick and I feel like I didn't do anything besides work. So this month's favourites might be a bit small as I didn't get up too much to experience too many things.

Gaming
Played a little bit of New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star this month, but only really creating outfits. I'm thinking of actually doing New Game+ soon to bring some excitement back into the game as I'm getting a bit bored of nothing happening in my game. Probably sometime next month once I've got enough material for guides and I can restart. I did however come across this amusing glitch whilst updating my Shopdo the other day. When I went to update the outfits, one of them had this bizarre line through the top 3DS screen. It didn't appear with the other two outfits so it was quite strange.

During September, I will finally be doing the 30 Day Cosplay Challenge that has been going around on tumblr for a while. It took me a while to get around to doing it as I had to think of 30 things to cosplay. I will be posting one cosplay a day for the entire month, so remember to check each day for a new outfit!

Music
This month I've mainly just been waiting for new releases from some of favourite groups. Dream Ami has a new single scheduled for October and MOMOLAND announced the Japanese version of BAAM for November so I'm excited for both of those. Will probably get the CD Only of Dream Ami as I usually do and I'm not sure for BAAM as of yet but I'm leaning towards Type B. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu also announced a new album so that one is added to list. I have a large Zenmarket haul arriving this week so I'm looking forward to sharing what I got as it's lots of albums I've been wanting for a long time.

No particular stand out favourite song this month as I've just been listening to my backlog. But I have been enjoying some music from April recently. I only have their Boing Boing album so far, but I'm interested in collecting some more. I quite like their song Yes Sir which I've linked below.

Beauty
I came across an amazing discovery recently in the form of a lip balm. Now I used to be a fan of Lipsmackers when I was younger however I had to stop wearing them due to allergies to the favouring and perfume in them. The other week I was at Chemist Warehouse and noticed a new Lipsmacker item in the lip balm section. It seems the company has released a natural lip balm line called Kiss Therapy. The lip balms are dermatologist tested and contain moisturising agents to improve the look of lips. I also love how they are SPF 30 (very helpful in Australia) and the scents are wonderful. I only have the Superfruit one so far as I haven't come across the other favours just yet. I wish I was able to find the 4-pack set in store but I might have to try online.
