January Favourites

First monthly favourites post of 2019! Actually did a fair amount of stuff this month so I'll have some things to report on. So let's get straight into it!

Gaming
I was super into New Style Boutique during the month of January and played it a fair amount. I'm talking about the 2nd game in the series, known as New Style Boutique in Europe and Australia. It's fun seeing a different style of game after playing the other instalments so much. Loving the Miss Ribbon brand as well and it's interesting to see how many items originally belonged to that brand. Here's a quick photo of my character I took at the photo studio!

Music
I haven't posted about them yet, but I got two new K-Pop albums off eBay recently. The albums were the 1st Mini Album Would You Like? from WJSN and the 2nd Single MAYDAY from April. The packaging of both albums is just gorgeous and the April one has my favourite packaging by far of all the albums I've recently collected. It also fits perfectly with my other April single Boing Boing. I have the WJSN mini album on another J-Pop/K-Pop shelf and it fits perfectly with my Nature and Orange Caramel singles. These shelves are where I keep my larger albums that aren't jewel case releases. Most of those are in some IKEA shelving that fits CD's and DVD's perfectly and I have more in IKEA boxes because my CD collection is too big for the space I have shelf wise.

On the topic of music, Dream Ami brought out a new single which is one of her best songs yet. The new song is called Good Goodbye and I loved it from first listen when it released yesterday. The single had an early release yesterday and the physical single will come out in March. I'm super excited for it because the otufits and design of this single is amazing. Probably one of my top favourites concepts from her so far.

Another top song I've been listening to this month is the latest release from Sudannayuzuyully スダンナユズユリー titled LOOK AT ME NOW. Have to admit it's another banger from the group! The song was a digital release only but the song will be included on the groups first full album SYY in March. Excited for the album but the prices are quite steep for the editions. Not sure yet which edition I'll get as their is no special incentives on the CD Only and I'd love the get the DVD version. The CD+DVD+BOX edition is way out of my budget and the goodies you get with it ain't super interesting to me at over 7000JPY. Blogger didn't want to link the MV so you can find it here!

Beauty
Sadly I've almost used up all my Lip Smacker Kiss Therapy lip balms. Tragic! I've been searching through shops that I know stock them but no luck finding any. I will never understand why shops stock things for like two seconds and then never again. Maybe I'll give normal Lip Smackers a try but I usually avoid them because the perfume/scents in them is a bit too much for me sometimes.

Stationery
The new diary from kikki.K is going along great! I posted a review of it a few weeks back and have been using it a fair bit since. Love all the space each day has in the weekly section and I've been taking plenty of notes about my Shopdo updates and online purchases. Makes it way easier to track and see what's going on.

  1. Hi Marzi it's Jo,
NSB is an amazing game definitely one of the best in the series, it seems to be more commonly known as Trendsetters.
The DLC in NSB is amazing.
I love your shelves the Isabelle figurine is adorable, I have something similar mine is a tiny Isabelle with a tiny Town Hall I got it for pre ordering New Leaf back in 2013.
    Thanks so much :)

    1. I refer to the game as New Style Boutique more as it wasn't known as Trendsetters over here. But now that more games have come out with the same title, it always confuses people when I talk about the game.

The Isabelle figurine is from a magazine from Japan, she's one of those bobble head things that move via solar power.

    2. It was called NSB over here too, it tends to be referred to as Trendsetters online a lot.
Cute! I love any Animal Crossing merch as it's hard to come by here, I only have a few bits and pieces :)

    3. There's a fair bit of Animal Crossing merch here at the local gaming stores. We have a Japanese import store that used to carry a lot of merch. All of mine has come from Japan apart from a little gacha I got many years ago when Wild World was out on a school excursion once.

    4. Yeah there's not much here just bits and bobs usually when a new game is released so hopefully we'll get some long overdue merch when AC Switch is released.
I sometimes see the Wild World Gacha on eBay, they're really cute.
Also Good Goodbye is super catchy and has an awesome concept :)

    5. A friend of mine happened to be in Japan around the same time the gacha was available, so they got me a stack of them. I have some of my 3DS currently

    6. They are more easy to find in Japan, I miss the charm hanger on the newer models :)
