MODEL Debut3 #nicola - Uploading & Downloading Portrait ID Codes

MODEL Debut3 # nicola has a fun feature that allows players to upload and download model portraits in the game. You can upload portraits you have taken yourself for others to download as well as download other players portraits. These are all saved to a model catalogue available at the Production Studio. This guide will cover how to use this feature in the game and how to access other players content. The screenshots in the guide are in Japanese as I play the Japanese version of MODEL Debut3 #nicola however the English version is quite similar and the pictures explain the steps quite well.

It is super easy to download other player's portraits via an ID code by visiting the Production Studio. Here you can create and share your own portraits or download others via online communication. Don't worry if you do not have a Nintendo Online subscription as the service runs off the game's internal server. It is similar to the one Fashion Dreamer uses and doesn't require any payment.

To add a portrait to the online servers, select the Portrait option and then press ZR to move to the third tab with the globe. On the left hand side of the screen, select the third option to upload a portrait onto a public server. This will bring up all the portraits you have taken at the Production Studio and doesn't not include ones you have taken as part of jobs. Unfortunately these cannot be upload to the public server and are limited to in-game viewing only. Select the portrait you wish to upload and the game will ask to confirm you wish to publish the portrait online. Then you'll receive a confirmation screen and the portrait will be added to the globe tab. Super simple!

On this tab, you will see all the portraits that you have available for other players to download and you can also easily switch the portrait to private if you wish by pressing the Y button. The ID code for each portrait is displayed along with the title of the photo and each code is unique to that image. Players can enter this code in their game to download your portrait to their game and I will explain this feature next.

To download a portrait from another player in MODEL Debut3 #nicola, select the Model Catalog option at the Production Studio and press ZR to move to the download tab. On the left hand side of the screen, select the third option to download a portrait. A screen will pop up asking to enter the ID code you have from another player. Once the code is entered, you can search the online database to locate the portrait. It will give an error message if the code is invalid.

A great feature is that if you press the minus button on your joycons or controller, it will bring the image up in portrait mode and give a more detailed look. This is great for taking screenshots and even displays your ID code! Here is an example of a portrait from my character's portfolio and the code if you wish to download it!

And that is it for this awesome feature in MODEL Debut3 #nicola and I hope it has helped explain this aspect of the game. Now with the game being available in English, there will be more ID codes available for download as I haven't found too many in my time of playing the game since it was released in Japan last year. Hopefully the server is not region locked and players from both the Japanese and English versions can share ID Codes. I will be starting a new blog series of sharing portraits from my character's portfolio with the ID codes for download. Originally I was planning on writing a blog post about that however it kind of snowballed into this guide! I hope you enjoyed this guide and you can find all my MODEL Debut content on this page here and please let me know your ID codes in the comments so I can download your portrait! Hopefully this feature will be the new version of Shopdo codes!

  1. Hey, I just remembered to check your blog again, after you mentioned it yesterday at the meet (you know who I am, the other fashion expert lol). Nice to see you’ve kept up with the blog since the Style Boutique 2 days! Lots of useful info and nice screenshots

    1. Haha hello mysterious fashion expert! Glad to see you found the blog after all this time. I actually stopped posting Style Boutique stuff recently after doing it forever & only really stopped because they turned off the online features. See you around!
