MODEL debut3 #nicola Play Journal - Chaotic Outfit Choices

Recently I was going through my Nintendo switch games and came to the realisation that I never finished MODEL debut3 #nicola! Ages ago, I spent heaps of time playing it and got my rank up super high. Ended up finding some screenshots saved on my switch SD card and thought it was the perfect time for a play journal on the game. These are just a random collection and I won't be highlighting the storyline much as these are mostly from jobs and a meet up with friends. First off is this simple looking outfit from a modelling job. It reminded me of the basic clothes in Style Boutique because I swear these same items appear.

No idea what on earth I was thinking with this look for this tv spot. Like why is my hair bright green? Sometimes the items available for the job are terrible and you end up with something like this. Maybe if the top had a pattern on it, it would've looked ten times better. 

This winter inspired outfit is much prettier and less chaotic. Usually I'm not one to use gloves in an outfit however they were suitable for this job. The cardigan looks super comfy and I could do with one like that currently as the temperatures dropped suddenly here the last few days. Last Friday it was t-shirt and shorts weather during the day, but at night it was freezing and I had to eventually put a thermal on the next day to stay warm. So I'm not looking forward to upcoming cold months :( After this toasty outfit, I headed out to meet up with a friend and take a cute photo to remember it. 

MODEL debut3 #nicola Model Portfolio - Flowers

Lately I have been thinking about MODEL debut3 #nicola as it has been ages since I played it. It is such a fun game and I miss taking cute photos of my model. Today's blog post is a photo from my model portfolio in the game and this look is simply called Flowers. I've never been one for coming up with good names for things. I can think of funny or stupid ones for things like Kahoot quizzes but naming stuff in games feels so personal because you might get stuck with it. Anyway I went with flowers for this one because as you can see, it has a lot of floral prints. 

Isn't it crazy that the print of the clothes is the same as the background? Like it was meant to be! Honestly it looks chaotic and I like that about this photo. This would be a nice outfit for warmer days in spring or summer. I have a clothing item similar to this and it is always a lovely piece to wear. Wish I could wear it everywhere however it is more of a going out item. For the shoes, I went with platform sandals as I was super into them over the warmer months.

MODEL debut3 #nicola Model Portfolio - Date Outfit

Time to share one of the photos from my model portfolio in MODEL debut3 #nicola and this one is called Date Outfit. Now I do not recall why on earth I called it this and it does not scream date night. Sometimes I find it hard to name stuff and I obviously just threw this one out in the world. The outfit is a mix between preppy and chic in my opinion. Some of the items remind me of Enid Chen such as the top and the skirt is very preppy coded. The hair is quite similar to my own except much shorter.

MODEL debut3 #nicola Play Journal - Jobs Galore

No fashion game can escape me from wearing a beret and this first outfit in today's MODEL debut3 #nicola play journal proves that. I just cannot help but choose berets for outfits as they always look amazing. Happened in Style Boutique, Fashion Dreamer and now MODEL debut3. This outfit turned out super cute and I loved the colour tones of it. Also how adorable is this teddy bear purse!?!?! It is so fluffy and I have to resist using it in every outfit from now on.

MODEL debut3 #nicola Play Journal - New Clothing Brands Are Here

Time to power through these play journals for MODEL Debut3 #nicola because I am way behind on the blog compared to where I'm at in game. Pretty much going to post as many as possible until I catch up so I don't fall behind. This play journal has is starting at rank F however in real life I'm actually almost at rank C. So I'm going to focus on posting the journals for a little bit to reach that point. Anyway let's get going with this refreshing modelling job that I took part in. The outfit was super cute for this one and I love the hair colour! The background was nice at first however the photo was made a 100% better once I found this one that matches the fruit vibe more.

Later I visited a beauty store with Shunsuke and he made a great comment about lack of sleep. Dude I run off lack of sleep and I wish I could improve it. I brought a sleep mat early this year and whilst it is amazing, I hate seeing how bad my sleep patterns are. And now it will only get worst with all the super early starts I'll be doing for work along with long days. He means well I guess and my character cannot get dark circles haha. Perfect time for another Nicola App post!

MODEL debut3 #nicola Play Journal - New Jobs Unlocked!

Back with another MODEL debut3 #nicola play journal and I have lots of cool photo shoots to share in this one. First up is a look that combines khaki pants in a boyish style. Seemed like an easy job as pants are always a simply thing to choose. I thought a beanie would be a cool addition to this outfit and feels very boyish.

Spent some time talking to Narumi at a few places and she saved one of my items from disappearing in the wind. I really like her style and this hat suits her hairstyle well. She has some cool boyish image going on like the previous photo shoot theme.

October Favourites

OMG I was trying to hard this month to remember to post my monthly favourites as I have missed a few recently. It has been a crazy last few months for me however and it feels like it is slowly improving which is amazing. Plus the weather is getting a bit warmer however it is always crazy windy. My city was never a windy place but I feel like in recent years it has been super bad. I have just had two weeks off work for annual leave which was great! Loved just chilling out and not having to deal with stress constantly. Now I'm back and ready to take on the busy peak trade season over Christmas. Anyway let's get into the monthly favourites for October!

I feel like most of my blog readers would already be aware that MODEL Debut3 #nicola got an English release this month which was crazy surprising! I totally wasn't expecting it and I thought it was funny as I had been playing the game quite a lot recently before was announced. Honestly I love the game and was happy to see it reach a wider audience. I will of course be posting lots of content about the game including a few guides that I've done recently. Music

This month I have been obssessed with the Japanese pop duo Wink who were active in the 1980's to 1990's. I was already aware of two of their songs 愛が止まらない Ai ga Tomaranai ~Turn It Into Love~ and 淋しい熱帯魚 Samishii Nettaigyo but had never really listened to anything else. So I randomly brought their best of on iTunes and I'm hooked! Absoutely amazing and so annoyed I left it this long! Why are there so many amazing Japanese groups from the 1990's? My current favourite songs are 夜にはぐれて Yoru ni Hagurete ~Where Were You Last Night~ and 真夏のトレモロ Manatsu no Tremolo. The first song caught my attention as I already knew the original song that they covered. So I was like hey I know this song!

Which Should I Buy - Fashion Dreamer or MODEL Debut3 #nicola?

Now that the Nintendo Switch is home to another fashion game after the release of MODEL Debut3 #nicola, I've seen a number of people on the internet wondering if they should buy this or Fashion Dreamer.  Or if it worth buying since they already own Fashion Dreamer. I thought it would be helpful to put together a handy guide comparing the two games so that people can make an informed decision on which one to purchase. There are a number of game features that I will compare to make it easy to tell the difference between the two. Please note there are just my opinions on the game and whether or not I think it is worth it. My screenshots for MODEL Debut3 are in Japanese as I play the Japanese version however there is an English version available on the eShop. Let's go!

Storyline

Honestly I believe that MODEL Debut3 #nicola has the stronger storyline than Fashion Dreamer. The aim of the game is to become the top model by completing various jobs and increasing your follower count/rank. The game cycle runs by month and you get four jobs per month such as modelling, TV spots and commercials. You can unlock special jobs by reaching certain follower counts. This is super easy to do and all the jobs are super fun to complete. Each day you complete a job in the morning and in the afternoon you can either rank up a skill at various locations (ie gym or library) or hang out with NPC's to increase your friendship with them. I have played over 30 hours of MODEL Debut3 and I'm not even halfway through the story line! So there is plenty of content to keep you entertained and enjoy ranking up stats. If you are wondering about fashion shows, yes they do appear in MODEL Debut3! However when I took part in one recently, I was only able to choose my outfit and that was it. The game plays a montage of your character walking and then the top model is announced. I've included a screenshot of the fashion show and it isn't as detailed as the old Style Boutique ones.

Fashion shows are back!

Fashion Dreamer doesn't have a set story line like MODEL Debut3 however it does focus on increasing your follower count as well. First you create a muse which is your in-game character and then the game guides you through the aspects of the game such as setting up your showroom, increasing your influence and designing clothes. New areas which are called cocoons open up as your progress further in the game and basically you just go around creating outfits for other characters/online players to increase your followers. There are some neat tricks you can use to grind out likes and followers such as taking photos a certain way with other muses. Once you reach the platinum rank, the game credits will roll and I guess you can officially call that the game ending even though there are ranks after that. Most players are happy to just play Fashion Dreamer for the funnily enough fashion aspect as it is super fun to create your own items and dress up other players. Some have even create full fashion lines you can download at their showrooms. The game has monthly events that you can take part in along with mini games of bingo or gatcha for clothing patterns.

Winner - MODEL Debut3 #nicola has the more linear story line however it is a personal choice of whether you prefer that or the freedom of Fashion Dreamer to just dress up.

MODEL Debut3 #nicola - Uploading & Downloading Portrait ID Codes

MODEL Debut3 # nicola has a fun feature that allows players to upload and download model portraits in the game. You can upload portraits you have taken yourself for others to download as well as download other players portraits. These are all saved to a model catalogue available at the Production Studio. This guide will cover how to use this feature in the game and how to access other players content. The screenshots in the guide are in Japanese as I play the Japanese version of MODEL Debut3 #nicola however the English version is quite similar and the pictures explain the steps quite well.

It is super easy to download other player's portraits via an ID code by visiting the Production Studio. Here you can create and share your own portraits or download others via online communication. Don't worry if you do not have a Nintendo Online subscription as the service runs off the game's internal server. It is similar to the one Fashion Dreamer uses and doesn't require any payment.

To add a portrait to the online servers, select the Portrait option and then press ZR to move to the third tab with the globe. On the left hand side of the screen, select the third option to upload a portrait onto a public server. This will bring up all the portraits you have taken at the Production Studio and doesn't not include ones you have taken as part of jobs. Unfortunately these cannot be upload to the public server and are limited to in-game viewing only. Select the portrait you wish to upload and the game will ask to confirm you wish to publish the portrait online. Then you'll receive a confirmation screen and the portrait will be added to the globe tab. Super simple! 

MODEL debut3 #nicola Play Journal - Stylish Snaps

Slowly been working my way through playing MODEL debut3 #nicola on the Nintendo Switch and have some new screenshots to share of my adventures. It is going to take forever to rank up my skills in the game as you don't get many opportunities. Or maybe it just feels that way to me. 

Decided to take a new photo of my character in game as I had recently acquired some new clothing items. This time I went with a spring theme with a cute floral playsuit. I'm obsessed with these shoes as they are identical to a pair I have in real life and they are perfect for warmer weather! The hair matched perfectly with the vibe of the outfit as well and somehow I matched the background too! The photo is posted below along with my ID if anyone else wishes to download it which isn't a feature I've used a lot. It is pretty hard to find ID codes on the net and I don't use twitter where most are located.
