Girls Mode 3 Magazine キャラぱふぇ ゲーム スペシャル

Thought I'd share some photos of one of my Girls Mode 3 magazines I brought from Japan. This issue is the special game edition of Chara Parfait which is a game magazine in Japan targeted at girls. I brought the magazine from Amazon Japan and the title of the magazine is キャラぱふぇ ゲーム スペシャル released in June 2015. The first section of the magazine is devoted to Girls Mode 3 whilst the rest is about other games.

Magazine Cover

The beginning of the magazine contains some adorable Girls Mode themed postcards. The postcards are themed around the brands and styles of the game. There is also a tear-out calendar covering months in 2015 and 2016. It features characters dressed in the various styles and photos from the game. The back of the calendar has a study schedule to write in and more character images. I haven't used any of the postcards yet as they are just too perfect to use and I just can't bring myself to tear them out.

Adorable postcards

The magazine covers the features of the game such as hair styling, fashion shows, designing clothes and the different fashion styles in the game. There is a wealth of information to read and gorgeous pictures of characters, items and aspects of the game. The first section details the locations and activities in the game and further information about each one. You can notice in the photos below that in Girls Mode 3, some of the main characters look different. The skin tone of characters such as Noor, Laurie, Tarquin and Arabella was changed to a darker tone in the Europe/Australia and North America versions of the game (Style Boutique & Style Savvy).

Information on where to visit & what to do in the game.

Information on the beautician.

Information on the hair salon.

Information on the Designer Lounge & making custom items.

The next few pages detail basic steps on how to play the game. The magazine covers whats new in the game and fun facts. It talks about how to style an outfit around a certain theme or brand and things to think about when taking part in the fashion shows. More information is provided on fulfilling requests as the Designer Lounge and making items from your own designs at your Boutique.

All the brands in the game are detailed in the next part of the magazine. A short profile is given about the brand and a small selection of items is shown of ones you will find in the game. Pictures are included to give you inspiration on outfits you can create with items from the brand. I own a number of Girls Mode magazines and most have sections devoted to information on the brands so it seems to be a common aspect of the magazines. You may notice the brands have different names in the Japanese version of the game. Most are similar sounding names and honestly I prefer the name flute f instead of Chorale as it sounds more feminine.

Information on the Stray Cat (Stage Dive) and flute f (Chorale) brands.

A cute mini magazine is hidden inside that showcases seven days of outfits of various styles featured in the game. I really love this as it gives you ideas of outfits you can create with each style and see how different items go together. A short section of dressing in costumes from Fantania (Purple Moon) is included as well but only for three days instead of seven.

How to dress in a bold style.

The last part of the Girls Mode 3 section features a short manga telling the story of your character and Sophie. It's a cute little story and is nice ending to the Girls Mode 3 coverage of the magazine.

The brand of the magazine Chara Parfait did a collaboration with Girls Mode 3 in Japan and a DLC set was released featuring the brand. The set includes a keyboard themed clutch, a flower patterned mini dress and a flower headband. The DLC is only available in Japan for Girls Mode 3 unfortunately and no other regions. I would've loved to have been able to download this because that keyboard clutch is amazing!! Hopefully more items of this design will be included in the new game.
