MOMOLAND BAAM (Japanese Version) - Single Review (Regular CD Edition)

MOMOLAND released their second Japanese single BAAM last month and I recently received my copy of the single in the mail. I ended up getting just the regular CD edition as the other two versions where a tad out of the price range for the moment. The other editions are stunning though so I will be picking them up in the future. Anyway for now, let's take a look at BAAM from MOMOLAND!

MOMOLAND's second Japanese second BAAM (Regular CD Edition)

BAAM is the second Japanese single from K-Pop group MOMOLAND and was released in November 2018. The single comes in three editions: Limited Edition A CD+DVD, Limited Edition B CD+DVD+Sticker and a Regular CD Edition. No photocards are included in the single, but you do receive a special one if your purchase the single from certain retailers and online stores in Japan. The regular CD edition inlcudes the following contents:

  • CD- 4 Track Album
  • Jewel Case
  • OBI Strip
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Event Ticket (First Press Only)
  • SOLE FURY x MOMOLAND promo flyer

MOMOLAND Event Ticket & SOLE FURY x MOMOLAND promo flyer

All editions of the single come in the standard jewel case. Now I don't mind these types of releases but the groups previous Japanese release BBoom BBoom had a photobook version. I've posted a review of that edition here and I was hoping the group would continue with the same format for their future Japanese releases but they did not. A photobook edition would've been amazing as I love the outfits the group wears on all the single covers. I'm the kinda person who likes consistent album designs for releases so that the collection has a theme to it. Say for example, Orange Caramel used the same sized album designs for their Korean releases or KARA always had the jewel cases for their Japanese singles. It's sound fussy I know, but I like to have my collection looking streamlined and not all over the place size wise.

The design of the regular CD edition is quite cute and has the girls in striped themed outfits sitting around a globe on the front cover. The back photo for me though is way better and I personally would've put it on the front instead. The background is a tangerine kinda colour and keeps reminding me of Streets Go Disco from Crayon Pop which I have in the Australian jewel case release.

YesAsia Haul - MOMOLAND, Dream Ami & NATURE

Received a new order from YesAsia this week which contained two singles I've been waiting for. Those singles being MOMOLAND's recent Japanese release BAAM and Dream Ami's seventh single Wonderland. I also got a single from a new exciting rookie group called Nature which is just a stunning physical release.

Nature is a new group to the K-Pop scene and I just had to have their first release for the beautiful design. The release is titled 1st Single Album - 기분 좋아 and was release in August 2018. Plus the songs are amazing as well! I was surprised at how pretty the album is in real life and it's just the perfect. You get two photocards with it and I got Gaga who is super cute and a group card. The group has just released their second single which also has amazing packaging so I'll be picking that up one day in the future.

Finally got a copy of Dream Ami's recent release Wonderland that's been out since October. Got the CD Only version of course as I'm collecting those editions from her at the current moment. The single design of this release has to be one of my favourites from her releases as the purple tone is just stunning. Plus the sleeve and jewel case have different photos on the front! Yay! Dream Ami's releases go back and forth having same or different photos on the front covers, so I was excited to see this one was different.

I had a lot of trouble trying to decide which version of BAAM from MOMOLAND to get. Now I originally wanted to get one of the DVD versions, but they were just a bit out of my price range. So I settled on getting the Regular CD Edition first and collect the other ones later. Personally I would've preferred the image that's on the back of the single to be the front cover.

October Favourites

My favourite month of the year has ended sadly. October is my favourite month for various reasons, one being that the weather finally warms up. However October here wasn't actually that warm, only two or three days above 30. Halloween was great, we ended up having quite a few trick or treaters! Mainly young children in super adorable costumes. I brought a bag of Milky Ways to give out because who doesn't love Milky Ways. I had a few left, maybe I'll go eat them after this post. Anyway, here are my top things for October!

Gaming
Finally collected all the Halloween & Nightmare Before Christmas items in Disney Magical World. Had to reset the game a few times to get the skeleton counter as the request didn't want to spawn. I also managed to finally get the last items to craft the remaining outfit items I was missing. So now I'm only missing some fall and winter specific items and less than 10 cards. The card thing is frustrating as I cannot get the last Daisy card! I got Minnie's somehow the other day and Daisy just keeps giving the same ones and not the Super Rare. Sigh, maybe this month I'll get it from her. I hate random chance in games, makes everything take so much longer.

Music
No new CD's this month but I'm planning on getting Dream Ami and MOMOLAND's new releases next month. Just still trying to decide which versions of BAAM from MOMOLAND to get, leaning towards Type A because I adore the bumblebee style outfits the girls wear on it.

Thinking about getting this version of BAAM.

This month I've actually been listening to some non K-Pop and J-Pop music. Shocking isn't it. I was going through my MP3 player at the gym and decided to listen to some of the older albums in my collection. Many years ago, I was a hardcore fan of this Australian rock band called The Living End. I used to collect all their releases and track down rare promo discs from the band. I've been listening to some of their older stuff recently and thinking about picking up their recent release as well. Here's their most well-known song Prisoner Of Society which was a staple for all the summer music festivals when the band was on the line-up.

Beauty
Managed to track down another flavour of the Kiss Therapy lip balms from Lipsmacker. This time it was the Grapefruit one which is my new favourite. It smells like Passionfruit soft drink (or Pasito as the Kirks brand is called) which is my favourite soft drink besides Raspberry and Vanilla Coke. So strawberry is the only flavour I'm missing now but I'm guessing it's just your standard strawberry scent. Not a huge fan of strawberry lip balms as they are a bit boring and overpowering sometimes.

Stationary
So my friend and I were in one of the Japanese stores in town a few weeks ago and I came across the best sticker set ever. I was so excited when I saw this Maru the Shiba themed stickers. Omg they are just so adorable! The tennis racket one is my favourite. They also had round shaped stickers with similar images of Maru.

During the same trip to town, I found this Winnie the Pooh stamp set from Daiso. It is similar to another stamp set I had brought previously from there and is a decent stamp. You need to be precise with the pressure to get a good print with it and to be careful not the bleed the ink through certain typse of paper. I'm going to blog about my stamp collection in November so keep an eye out for that!
