Started playing the cutest new game on the Nintendo Switch, Magical Craft - My Enchanted Dress Shop! I made a blog post about the game being released yesterday and I started playing it that night. So far I'm enjoying it and it's a lovely game about making dresses and traveling around a quaint village. Here is the beautiful menu screen that loads up at the start of the game. The colour palette is gorgeous and fits well with the classic feel of the environment.
The storyline of Magical Craft - My Enchanted Dress Shop is that your character takes over the role of dressmaker at your grandmother's atelier. You also have magic powers that allow you to create amazing creations and this is known as sewing magic. The game calls them enchantments and they are basically mini games you play when creating items.
Here is what the menu screen looks like at the atelier and it's pretty simple to start with. I've unlocked more options after playing for a little while. But at first you learn the basics of the game mechanics. My first attempt at sewing magic was to attach some embroidery to a dress. It was a lovely flower which attached on the top part of a dress. I thought I could pick whereabouts it went however there was a pre-selected location for it. Still looks rather cute!
In order to design dresses in the game, you need to play a mini game to complete the work job. This is a simple button pressing game where you press the corresponding button on the controller when it appears or do the action it requests. For example rotate the L stick or hold the B button. You can set the difficulty of the mini games on the options screen and two difficulties are available - easy or normal. Nothing too crazy because this game is targeted at a younger audience.
The next work order was the attach a bow to a dress and it's the same dress as before. You only have one to start out with and I've seen other characters wearing some lovely designs around town. This one either let me select the front or back for the placement. I picked this purple fabric which did not match at all. Between these jobs, I did visit around the town to buy fabric but totally forgot to take screenshots. I was that immersed in the game and was trying to take in all the new areas!
This is the only photo I took this play session from around the village as I love her dress! It's just too pretty and love all the ruffles. She works at the Cafe and it must get tired standing in this pose all day. I hope I can unlock this dress style in the game as you could make some nice colour combinations with the different tiers and bows.
Only a short play journal today and I didn't have many photos to share as I got too into the game and totally forgot! I really wanted to pet the cats around the village however they all kept running away this early in the game :( Looking forward to playing more Magical Craft - My Enchanted Dress Shop and seeing what wonderful things I can unlock. The storyline seems interesting and it looks like there are a number of characters to meet in the game.
