Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book - Marble Lily

We have finally reached the time when I review the Marble Lily pages of the Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book! I feel like I should've done this brand ages ago as it seems to be one the most popular ones in the game series. I personally quite like Marble Lily for the gorgeous dresses and cute shirts that match well with other styles in the game. The brand has the same name in Japanese and I've always felt it reminds me of the EGL brand Angelic Pretty. Japanese EGL culture is quite fascinating and the outfits are beautiful. So I can see how this brand is influenced by that fashion style.

The main style of the Marble Lily brand is the Baby-Doll style of course which as I mentioned is very similar to the EGL fashion style in real life. It also features items that fit within other styles such as lively, girly, gothic, feminine and preppy.  In New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward, Marble Lily become home to a few items from the defunct Miss Ribbon brand. These are the faux fur coat with bow, bell sleeve bolero, straw bag with rose, heart knee sock and lacy sandals with bow. These fit quite nicely within the brand and I've used these in a number of outfits over the years. The main draw card of the brand is the wide range of dresses as the brand has an amazing selection of them in a range of colours, patterns and prints. Shopdo Update - February 2020

I've kept the feminine themed boutique for another one as I love this interior and last month's outfits proved popular. The outfits for February feature a range of styles and are suitable for different occasions. First up is a feminine themed look featuring this gorgeous aqua tone and for this look, I wanted to try using a trench coat style outer as I rarely use those. I paired it with this skirt from Enid Chen and some cute heels. The second outfit is a girly outfit as that's my usual go-to look for Shopdo outfits. I actually really like this and feel it would be cute in real life to wear. Again I tried to use some items I rarely use which resulted in this camisole top with these shorts. Last outfit is a baby-doll one and I went for a brown colour scheme to try to match the boutique interior. The outfit is a mixture of items from Marble Lily, Raven Candle and Marzipan Sky. Shopdo Update

December is here and that means a new Shopdo update! I have three new outfits for this month and I went with a Christmas theme for the outfits this month. Kept the same boutique interior as I quite like the blue toned look and my character has another girly outfit on that is one of my personal favourites. Onto the new outfits for this month and first up is a floral themed baby-doll look. I went with this pannier skirt as the green and red tones reminded me of Christmas and the roses are quite merry. This is an ideal baby-doll look as it features many key elements to the style: pannier skirt, gloves, bolero and knee high socks. The second look is a cute Santa inspired outfit featuring girly and baby-doll items. I've been quite interested in overalls and overall style dresses recently in real life so I wanted to create a look similar to them in the game. The final outfit for this month a girly outfit titled Pretty Present and I was inspired by the bows on the clothing items for the name. Shopdo Update - Announcement & Blue Girly Boutique Interior

First off with a quick Shopdo Update announcement! From this week onwards, I will be doing monthly Shopdo Updates instead of weekly. With my work schedule, it's a challenge to update my Shopdo each week and with Christmas coming up, it's going to get a lot busier. I've enjoyed doing the weekly updates and coming up with a billion different outfits over the last few years. But it's time to slow down a bit and I will be uploading new outfits at the start of each month. Not sure if I'll change the boutique interior each month yet, depends on how much I like the interior style and outfit wise.

Now onto the outfits! I've given the boutique a new interior as I've packed away the Halloween interior for another year. This time I've gone for a girly themed boutique with a lovely blue colour scheme. All of the Shopdo outfits are themed around this colour scheme. First up is a feminine ensemble that is one of my favourite feminine looks in Styling Star. I love the cut of these new items to the Chorale brand, they look stunning in every colour. The second outfit is a elegant Baby-Doll coordinate as I really wanted to use this combo of the striped skirt and top. The green tie is a nice touch and brings a pop of colour to the blue scheme. The final outfit is a cute casual girly look which I tried to use items I was a fan of in Fashion Forward. I don't use these much nowadays but they always look great together as seen in this outfit. Here is a look at the new girly inspired boutique interior and as you can tell from the pictures, the colour blue is the theme of this boutique. I based it off an old pink themed boutique I had in my Shopdo once and just swapped out the furniture items for the blue versions. I really miss the blue tall cupboard miniature that was in Fashion Forward, it would've looked stunning in this set-up!

Shopdo Update

First of all, apologies for the late Shopdo Update as I was sick yesterday and wasn't able to post the update. So the first thing I've done after getting home after work is to post the update and here it is! I have another round of costumes for Halloween and all of this weeks outfits are vampire theme. The inspiration was that I really want to try out one of the Sims 4 bundle packs that has the vampires pack in it, I thought that would be a fun one as supernatural creatures have always been interesting in the game. The first vampire outfit is an elegant feminine inspired look and whilst I was originally going to go with a chic look, I thought the Chorale might be a bit more suitable and looks like an everyday outfit one might wear. The second outfit titled Moon Vampire is inspired by Purple Moon items. I finally found a use for these tacky dresses from the brand that I just never use and I paired it with some items from other Purple Moon sets. The final outfit is a cute Baby-Doll inspired vampire coordinate. It's kinda a mixture between gothic and baby-doll but I wanted it to have a more cute feel to it than dark. Shopdo Update

Here is the new set of costumes for my Halloween themed Shopdo month! The first outfit is inspired by playing cards and whilst I originally was going for a Alice In Wonderland theme, I thought the name Joker was a bit more appropriate. Second is a glam styled outfit themed around a cat costume which the ears from Purple Moon were perfect for! I just adore these purple toned items in Styling Star and it has definitely been one of my favourite colours in the game. Last outfit for this week is a baby-doll themed look titled Apple Princess. I wanted to go with a princess outfit but didn't want to do your stock-standard princess look. These apple themed items from Purple Moon are just stunning when paired with items from other brands in the game. 100 Outfit Challenge Day 94: Mismatched

Now I've done a mismatch outfit previously in my 30 Day Outfit Challenge and the result was an interesting one. And it seems this time my mismatched outfit turned out kinda similar. I decided to narrow my choices to random girly themed items to see if the outfit would make some cohesive sense. I ended up randomly select the same style of bolero which was interesting considering how many outers are in the section. The rest of the outfit is kinda meh and just looks like you got dressed in the dark. It could look better without the bow and bolero which I added because I wanted a number of items in the outfit. Maybe I'll have more luck next time with my randomised outfit.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 93: Least Favourite Item

Today marks the first of October and the final month of the 100 Outfit Challenge. I went with another clothing themed prompt for today as I wanted to get outside my comfortable zone and try using an item I always avoid. We all know that item in Style Boutique that we never use because we either dispose it, can never work it into outfits or just don't understand the design of it. For me, my least favourite item would be these low neckline jumpers which are available from a variety of brands. I just don't get them and I'm not a huge fan of low necklines in jumpers. For my outfit, I choose to work with a pink spotted jumper as I love the colour and the pattern is cute. It was pretty easy from them and I made this girly styled look. I actually quite enjoy this and I like how you can see the detail on the inner with the low neckline.

Shopdo Update - Halloween Themed Boutique

Since October will soon be upon us, I thought I'd give the boutique a special Halloween make-over! For the month of October, I will be doing special Halloween themed outfits for my Shopdo updates since October is the spooky month. The first outfit for Halloween is your usual cheerleader ensemble which is just the basic cheerleader outfit from Purple Moon with some lively items added in. Perfect for your teen horror movie! The next outfit is a cute bunny themed coordinate in the baby-doll style. I love using this bunny ears from Purple Moon at Easter time for outfits, but why not add them in for Halloween as well? Final outfit is a elegant vampire inspired look once again featuring an item from Purple Moon. It really is the Halloween brand isn't it? I love this look as it is rather stylish yet mysterious. Quick look at my Halloween themed boutique which has an elegant Gothic inspired interior. I decided on using a couch in the centre of the room as I rarely do that and it feels a bit more cosy. Of course I included a black cat as it's the quintessential Halloween animal. My character has a Halloween themed outfit on for the new look and this outfit is one of my usual get-ups I wear around Halloween time in the game. I really do miss the Halloween themed DLC items from Fashion Forward as they were perfect for this holiday!

Shopdo Update

This week's selection of outfits are a colourful and fun bunch to match the lively look of my current boutique. The first outfit is a lovely pastel toned lively themed outfit featuring a camisole, skirt and some slip-on shoes. I quite like this camisole from April Bonbon and it's colour scheme. The second outfit is a psychedelic look made from some new items to the Retrobeat brand. I think these dresses are quite a unique design and it's nice to see items such as this in the game. Lastly we have another lively outfit which completely turned out all red! I really wanted to use this rose patterned bodice in the outfit and just picked a bunch of random red toned items to go with it. I quite like the final product and it's super adorable! 100 Outfit Challenge Day 77: Lively

This 100 Outfit Challenge has gone on so long that I thought I had already done a Lively themed day. Anyway here is my over the top lively outfit which is a mix of items from April Bonbon. The thing I like about creating lively outfits is that you can just chuck a bunch of things together and it works out. The fluro or neon items are always a good bet and that's what I went with for this look. April Bonbon is the only brand I tend to use vests from as they have the best selection. It was nice to go back to this cat skirt and paint splatter style socks as I used to love them in Fashion Forward but haven't used them a super lot in Styling Star.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 75: Chocolate

Writing this post today makes me really feel like a chocolate bar! Of course I went with this chocolate bar inspired coordinate from Marble Lily because is there anything else more suitable? I think not! This colour tone of this outfit is my favourite out of the colours it comes in as it reminds me of choco-mint and the colours work well together. I do wish however there was a blouse that goes along with this set as I can never find one I like perfectly. Now I'm off to eat a delicious Milky Way because they are amazing!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 63: Baby-Doll

September is finally here which means it is finally spring! Thank heavens as I am way over this cold winter however it's still lingering around a bit this week and we've had some freezing cold days in the last week. For my first outfit of spring, I've gone with a baby-doll inspired look as that is a style I've yet to cover. This outfit is very much in line with the new items present in Styling Star. I used a few new items in the outfit as well as some old favourites such as this beret from Marble Lily. This coordinate is perfect for that spring EGL meetup or a lovely walk through the gardens.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 61: Outer

For today's outfit I wanted to try and use an outer that I rarely use and the first one that came to mind was this style from Marble Lily. I always avoid them because they don't have a nice silhouette shape when used in outfits and always squish down the pannier skirts and dresses. I went with a nice black and pink toned outer and built a baby-doll inspired look around it. Turned out super cute and reminds me a bit of old-school style EGL outfits that I've seen in KERA magazines.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 55: 1990's

Ah the 1990's! One of the best eras for me and my personal favourite. Most of my favourite movies are from the 1990's as well as music. One of my top movies Night At The Roxbury even has one of my all time favourite songs 'What Is Love' in it. Love it when that song comes on the 90's dance CD we play at work sometimes. Today's look was inspired by the movie Clueless which I've actually done an outfit for before in my 30 Day Cosplay Challenge. So I tried to create the same outfit again but with different items. I feel like this look would be something I'd wear in real life as I love skirts and high socks. 1990's fashion was the best as it often looked all over the place but had this stylish appearance to it. It's great that it's come back into fashion as I've picked up a few cool logo tees at the shops, found a neon MTV logo one for $5 recently when I needed a shirt for work quickly.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 47: Favourite Dress

If you've been following my blog for a long time, you'll recognise this dress which I've posted about numerous times before. This Starry Dress from Marble Lily is my favourite dress in the entire game and I love all the colours it comes in. I've chosen the pink one today as pink is my favourite colour and the tone works great with the shadows on the hem of the dress. I tend to ignore the other short style dresses from Marble Lily as they look too big and not as stylish as this particular one. This dress is a gem and one of the best items in the series for me.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 46: Red

For today's outfit which is inspired for the colour red, I've gone with a Red Riding Hood cosplay. Not sure how we ended up at this as it wasn't my original intention for this outfit. I was planning on doing a baby-doll look as I thought that would look nice in a red tone but then this skirt got paired with the inner I was using and we ended up with this. It looks super cute and quirky! Sometimes it can be hard to work Purple Moon items into outfits and I tend to stick to the carnival outfit ones. But this worked out quite well and I'm happy with how it turned out as I tend to avoid red coloured outfits as it's my least favourite colour.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 45: Alice In Wonderland

A while ago, I did an Alice In Wonderland inspired cosplay for my 30 Day Cosplay Challenge and today I'm back with another Wonderland inspired look. This time I went with a Card Solider inspired look as these dresses from Raven Candle always remind me of them. I used the red toned dress to match one of the colours of the soliders and I haven't used this colour of the dress much in Styling Star. These tights from Raven Candle are hands down one of the best pairs of tights in the game. They look great with everything, are versatile and come in a great range of colours. I always use them in gothic style looks as black goes with everything. It seems soon enough I'm going to have a whole collection of Alice In Wonderland character outfits in Styling Star!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 44: Photo Shoot Location

A fun feature when taking photos in Styling Star is the opportunity to choose the location you'd like to take you photos at. I thought I'd take today and take some photos at my favourite location spot which is the Cake Shop. I just love the colour tones of the interior and cute details of the cakes in the display. I dressed up in a baby-doll outfit for the photo shoot and used a food inspired dress for the outfit. Thought it was appropriate for the location and I haven't actually used this particular dress from Marble Lily much. I do miss some of the photo shoot locations from Fashion Forward, especially Maple Crescent. Such a shame they removed the eastern inspired location when Japanese fashion is a major inspiration for many styles in the game.

Shopdo Update

Super quick Shopdo Update and I've kept the boutique interior for another week as I couldn't think of a new design for an update. The outfits are pretty simple this week as I just picked three outfits from my scrapbook as I didn't have much time to pick new ones. These are some favourite looks of mine from Styling Star and they have appeared a few times in Shopdo Updates as well in challenges and lookbooks. First off is a baby-doll look with a more casual appeal rather than a over-the-top coordinate. Love this shade of pink and combination of the patterns on the vest and skirt. Second is a lively look featuring more pink tones! It's all about the pink these week and this was a look I did ages ago for a challenge and liked it so much I saved it to my scrapbook.
