30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 7: Movie Inspired

Something a bit more challenging today and that is 'An outfit inspired by your favourite movie'. Now I have lots of favourite movies, most of which would be extremely hard to copy. But I decided to go with St Trinians which is a British film I absolutely love. Please go watch the movie right now if you haven't seen it as it's amazing and has the perfect soundtrack to go with it. I based the outfit off the 2007 film from the series and here is a quick picture for reference of the school uniforms I designed the outfit around.

When picking out an outfit, I searched for items from Brooke Bridge and Chorale. I did notice that there wasn't many inners/tops with ties that matched the exact colours of the St Trinians uniform. So ended up using a red tie one for the inner. Since the male clothing items have ties, I'd really like to maybe see ties added to the female section of clothing as there is lots of uniform combinations you could create with them. Anyway here is the outfit I created. Actually used one of the vest items, I never use them! Even in previous games I never used them. This time it actually suited the outfit quite well.

  1. Agreed about ties needing to be a separate item like for menswear! There are so many tie-able shirts/blouses.

    1. I never even thought about ties for ladies until I made this outfit. So we definitely need them as a new category, especially those cute bow ties.

It's a shame the special design items were removed in Styling Star because they had some great uniform style shirts.

    2. Oh yeah, the blazers for the designer items! I miss those too, I was planning on making myself my own perfect blazer + tie combo until I realized that they'd taken those out.

    3. I wasn't too impressed to see they were taken out. They were the only item I ever really designed besides the bear tights (which were also removed).

  2. Hi Marzipanini it's ID 0003531208 here, in my entire British life I have never watched St Trinian's it is on all the time in the UK pretty much every weekend either the first one
or the sequel is on the channel is Itv2 and it shows movies suitable for kids from 12.00-18.00 and adults movies from 18.30-2.00. The channel just has a problem with showing the same movies all the time as much as I love it despicable me 1 was on 12 times last month. I should watch St Trinian's it's not really my cup of tea ( I am a tea alcoholic) (LOL)
But it's good to watch new things. Do you like any other British films and do you like tea?. Thanks so much. X

    1. St Trinians is really good, you should watch it! The sequel isn't that amazing, I'm glad I only payed $1 for it because it wasn't worth it. I just have it for my collection now because I have the original movies as well.

I quite like a lot of British tv shows like Black Books and Father Ted. I'm more into 1990's movies, but I enjoy The Boat That Rocked and Wallace and Gromit which are British. I don't like tea unfortunately, I just cannot drink it for some reason. I've tried heaps of flavours but just can't stand the taste.

    2. Hi Marzipanini I'm going to try to watch St Trinian's being as it's always on Itv2 I'll try to watch 1&2. Also I love father Ted one of my earliest memories is drinking tea and eating cakes and watching father Ted (Drink! Drink! Drink!) with my Nan. If you like father Ted then you'll probably like dad's army which is hilarious. I keep meaning too watch black books it's on all the time also you should watch the British sitcom Miranda which stars Miranda Hart she's hilarious and she literally play's herself it has 4 series and she did a live show DVD she's really popular in the UK I have all her DVDs. I saw the boat that rocked I really didn't like it, but I love Wallace and Gromit. I love tea I love all flavours but the normal British brew is my fave (I'm so British). I like green tea all the flavours. One of my fave things to do is play Style Boutique while drinking tea. Thanks so much. X

    3. Yes I do know about Dad's Army. I haven't been able to get into Miranda, I tried watching it a few years ago. The Boat That Rocked isn't a very popular movie, most people I talk to hate it. But I really enjoyed it.

    4. Hi Marzipanini everyone's different with movies they like most people I meet either find or don't even know about one of my fave films Ricki and the flash but me and my mom love it. Also another British drama/soap is Eastenders which is about a close knit community in East London it's really great it's on the BBC also you should rewatch Miranda. Thanks so much. X

    6. Hi Marzi EastEnders has been about for ages it's on BBC one Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri the BBC is the UK's main Channel(s) so it could afford to put EastEnders on on a Wednesday it doesn't make sense. The UK also has other soaps such as Emmerdale and Coronation Street, Emmerdale is set in Yorkshire (Northern England) and Coronation Street is set in Manchester (Northern England) I only watch EastEnders I occasionally watch Emmerdale and Coronation Street. I just love Miranda she's very funny such British humor I can't stand it when British comedian's use American humor it just doesn't work, after you've watched the other shows you should try to watch Miranda again even if its just a few episodes.
      Thanks so much. X

    8. Hi Marzi my aunt and uncle live in Australia they came over here last year and the one before. They kept saying why on earth is Emmerdale and coronation street so far ahead they were two years behind (they live in Perth) so my aunt had spoiled everything and some of the storylines were not even active anymore.
I didn't know Australia had a UKTV service I knew about ABC I think if I ever visited Australia I'd be watching UKTV all the time.
      Thanks so much. X

    9. UKTV is on subscription tv so you have to pay for it. I haven't had subscription tv for years, so I"m not sure whats on UKTV anymore. I never really watched it much besides a few comedy shows.
