December Favourites

Ah I cannot believe it is the end of 2022! This month has been hectic and I'm totally over this year. Let's just start 2023 already! Been a busy month and I wasn't able to update the blog as much as I wanted too. It has been difficult lately to write up posts so I think in 2023 I'll take a new approach to the blog. Will still be continuing on with the One Year Challenge in Style Boutique along with more Style Boutique related posts. In regards to music reviews, I love posting them however they aren't as popular as the Style Boutique posts and take more time. So I will continue to post them just not as detailed but there will be lots of lovely photos included! I will eventually get around to posting my J-Pop and K-Pop Collection as I haven't had any spare time to take photos for it. Plus I was hoping my last K-Pop order for 2022 would come in which is a Red Velvet album.

First off, I wanted to post this gorgeous Hermione doll I brought! I've been eyeing her off in EB Games for about a year now but she is always $40 there. I was in BIG W buying some Christmas gifts and she was there for only $15. Absolutely the most beautiful doll I've seen in a long time and she looks so much better out of the box. I have actually brought the matching Luna and Cho dolls too but don't have photos yet. Had to hunt those down but found them for $15 as well during the Boxing Day sales.

Gaming

I have actually been playing my Switch this month! I brought Mario Kart for it after putting it off forever. My friends are quite happy about that and I can finally play with them. E-Shop vouchers were recently on sale so I picked a few up to get some new games on the Switch. Been obsessed with casual puzzle or colouring in games. I wish Crosswords DS got a port onto the Switch as I love that game and it would be perfect on there. Thinking about getting a stylus to use for the pixel colouring games as it would be easier than using the fingers.

Beauty

Colourpop order finally came in and it was amazing! I've tried a few things out so far and I quite like them. The lip creme is really good and I was surprised at how well the colour turned out. I was worried it would be too dark on me. Rock Candy is a great palette and love the formula. I brought this one as I was on the lookout for some darker shades and some good silvers.

One Year Challenge Week 22: New Years Eve

Another perfect lined up theme with the date! Since it is New Years Eve, I thought some New Year party outfits would be ideal for this weeks outfits. When I think of party attire in Style Boutique, it has to be Enid Chen of course. Why does that brand have so many fantastic going-out clothing items! So I put together two glittery looks that would be fun to wear whilst counting in the New Year. Does Enid Chen have the largest amount of glitter themed items in the game? It definitely feels like that and I ended up using quite a few of them. The middle outfit is a bold themed look as that style is quite party perfect as well. Did managed to sneak in more Enid Chen items into this look because I wanted it to look a bit over the top. Love how these outers look with fitted dresses and doesn't cover too much of the outfit. Happy New Year everyone and may 2023 be the best year yet!

One Year Challenge Week 21: Christmas

The timing of this theme worked out perfectly as it is the Christmas themed outfits and it is also Christmas Eve! Talk about perfect. I went with a few red and green themed looks for this week as that just screams Christmas to me. Plus there are many gorgeous items that fall under these two colours. Starting off with a chic themed outfit that would be ideal for a work Christmas party. Couldn't believe how well these glasses matched the rest of the outfit! Never knew there was so much red and green toned pieces at Enid Chen. The second look is a more casual girly themed one and this would be fun to wear on Christmas Day. I've just realised that all these looks are quite summerly because here in Australia, it is usually quite hot on Christmas Day. I remember one year it was in the forties! And for the last look I went with some of the Christmas themed items in the game because why not? It's like a weird Purple Moon/Enid Chen mash-up.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and thank you for all the support on Marzipan Wonderland during 2022!

Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book - AZ-USA

When you look at the brand AZ-USA from the Style Boutique games, you realise how many items the brand is home to. I was going through the Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book and this brand has stacks of pages dedicated to it. Crazy to see all the different items the brand has available and so many outfits you could create from them. AZ-USA was always a brand I kind of ignore in the past, however I have enjoyed experimenting with the brand whilst playing Styling Star. I feel it really picked up in the new game and the challenges I've done over the years have helped discover some gems.

The main style of AZ-USA is the bold style of course and it can also be referred to as the cool style. I tend to call it that a lot and even considered it was the official image for a while. The brand also features items from the following styles: lively, girly, retro, boho, gothic, sporty, rock, chic, feminine and preppy. Streetflow was still in Girls Mode 3 so AZ-USA doesn't have any items from that brand in this game as they moved over in the next instalment. Items from Miss Ribbon however were available at AZ-USA as the glam/flirty style was sadly removed. When looking at the brand, I feel I tend to use tight fitted items from it the most and it tends to be cropped or printed with some sort of pattern. The glam/flirty inspired items are my favourite and I feel I use those in most bold/cool outfits.

One Year Challenge Week 20: April Bonbon

Enjoyed making all these fun and colourful outfits as April Bonbon is always a excellent brand to work with. Sometimes it seems like I haven't explored all the items the brand is home to as sometimes I'll come across pieces that don't jog my memory. April Bonbon does have a large amount and there are sections I don't often use like the larger jackets or like a small percentage of the shoes. Some of the shoes from the brand are just unusable for me. I like all the outfits I made today and they look comfy enough to wear in real life. The first outfit isn't my favourite of the bunch but I do like the print on the dress. It's fun and quirky which is perfect for the lively theme. Second outfit is a more casual getup and feels very 2000's to me. I feel the third look is close to what I've made before in the lively style and these clothing items are ones that I used to use in previous games quite often.

Style Boutique 2 Room Address Update: Cute Sewing Room

Another month, another Caprice Chalet room update! For the month of December I've gone with this cute sewing room. I've been missing sewing in real life as I haven't had the chance to do much lately due to power outages and work commitments over the busy period. Looking forward to getting back into it in 2023! This room inspires me to start some fun new projects! I designed it years ago and thought it would be nice to upload online. It isn't too fancy with the item placements as I couldn't find items that matched perfectly. Say for example the shelves at the back are a different style to the desk. At least all the clothing items are pretty and I wish my projects looked that amazing! I've made a few lolita styled dresses myself and I feel there it always room for improvement. I wear them nowadays to work as it is fun to get all dressed up sometimes.

You can find this creative room at room address 180-239-9851 in New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward.

Shopdo Update - December 2022

It may be the middle of the month, but that's not too late for the Style Boutique Shopdo update. Sorry for the late update as I was having issues with my home internet. A new router got installed and my computer just didn't want to play nice with connecting to it. Finally managed to get it to work this week and had a moment free from work to post the new outfits.

I've decided to keep a pink theme again for the month of December and the outfits are pretty cute! I went with two baby-doll inspired coordinates for look one and three. Haven't used these dresses much and they have some interesting prints on them. The first one reminds me of a carnival with the bright colours and patterns. The third look is the cute bear print dress from Marble Lily and these colour tones look quite beautiful together. The middle outfit is a more casual girly baby-doll look with some Lolita style elements. I quite like this particular shade of pink in the Style Boutique games. It is so eye catching and makes the outfit stand out!

You can find all these outfits at my Shopdo ID 0006271056 in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

One Year Challenge Week 19: Yukata & Kimono

Honestly for the Style Boutique games, I think the yukatas and kimonos should have their own unique brand. The items are stunning and it could increase the variety of the patterns and colours. Maybe even bring back the cute Nintendo character themed ones from previous games. How nice would it be to have more Nintendo themed ones, like maybe Isabelle from Animal Crossing? Anyway the three outfits for this week are themed around yukatas and kimonos from the Kanokoi brand. I went with prints that I hadn't really used before which was easily to tell for most as it had a 'new' highlighted on it. No clue why I've never used this green toned one as it is gorgeous. The colours of the dots work well together and the park was the ideal location for this photoshoot. Love the floral print one of course and I'm sure I've used this in various colours over the years and the third one is quite elegant. A beautiful print and I added a pouch bag for an extra touch.

November Favourites

I'm finally here with the November favourites and apologies for the late post as I've had things on every day since the start of the December. Found some time to quickly update you on my favourites for the month of November which was an eventful one! Had a power outage for a long time due to some insane stormy weather which they said was a mini cyclone. Now we don't get cyclones in the part of Australia that I live in so it was pretty serious. Took out a huge amount of trees around my area and they're almost all been cleaned up now.

Quite a busy month for me workwise as we have a big Black Friday style sale as most retailers do in Australia. The shops here like to keep extending them out and some even start at the start of November now instead of just the one Friday. I did pick up some great bargains myself which was mainly beauty products and electronics. I won't post about my gaming favourites as I just didn't have time to play any games! I skipped my normal gaming meetup with friends as I had to work for the Black Friday sales. I will hopefully get the Style Boutique Shopdo and Caprice Chalet updates up this week. December is the busiest month for me so it can get difficult to update the blog.

Beauty

Ended up placing two orders of beauty products for Black Friday. Brought a bunch of Colourpop items which are on the way to me now. Took advantage of their great 30% deal and found enough items to get the free shipping to Australia. Hopefully that shouldn't be too far away and I'll see it at my parcel locker soon! The other order was from Revolution Beauty I ordered it on the 26th and received it on the 29th which is insane shipping wise for this time of year. Here are some of the products I brought minus two eyeshadow brushes which are pretty boring. So far I've tried out the Glam Balm Tropic Baby Pineapple, Party Pets Lip Gloss and the Curl Elevation Mascara. All are totally amazing especially the mascara which actually makes my lashes look the way I like. The Glam Balm are always good quality and I love the glitter of the lip gloss.

Music

I actually went to a concert this month which is rare for me. I'm not much of a concert person but I saw randomly one day that Five was touring in Australia. Like omg really? I just had to go and the tickets were super cheap! It was absolutely amazing and well worth it. The crowd looked like they were having a good time and there was definitely a demographic to the audience. Women in the 30's I'd describe it as but that is because we all were the perfect age to like Five when they were popular in the late 1990's early 2000's. It was truly a concert I will remember forever and it was crazy to be able to hear their songs played in 2022 live.

One Year Challenge Week 18: Raven Candle

I have a few gothic outfits for this weeks challenge post and who doesn't love a nice goth outfit. The theme for today is the brand Raven Candle which is home to the gothic style along with some other lovely items. Very happy with how these looks turned out as I covered three different colour combinations. The first outfit is your typical black and white coordinate and I wanted to utilise the trousers for this look. I feel I often overlook the pants at Raven Candle as who can say no to the beautiful dresses and skirts from the brand. So I was pleased at how well this one turned out and matches perfectly with the hair style. Couldn't help myself and used one of the dresses for the second outfit. Red and black always looks elegant together and I'm a big fan of this particular bag from Raven Candle. The final look is my favourite of the three as it turned out super cute yet still gothic. I don't use this style of skirt often but I managed to find items that matched perfectly with it.

One Year Challenge Week 17: Favourite Colour

Pretty boring theme for this week as I decided to do an easy one with outfits themed around my favourite colour. And I bet you can guess what my favourite colour is just by looking at this photos. Yes indeed it is pink! Even though I've been playing New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star for years now, I feel there are pink toned outfits I still haven't discovered. There are just too many items featuring various shades of pink. For the three outfits for this post, I went with some of my favourite styles: glam/flirty, feminine and girly. These styles perfectly match the pink concept and I love how they all turned out. Look number 1 is your typical glam/flirty get with lots of extra-ness. This type of skirt always works best with inners and makes your character look taller. The pastel toned hair was an excellent choice and fits nicely with the second outfit. The hairclip is a cute addition! The third outfit is something I feel I would totally wear and wish I could. This would look awesome to wear to work but maybe with sneakers as I could not get through a work shift in high heels! I had a job years ago that required heels and it wasn't the most comfortable thing. I still have the shoes I wore there though as they are cute black mary janes and match well with my wardrobe.

One Year Challenge Week 16: Dotty

OMG all the outfits for this theme turned out amazing!!! They are definitely top tier and my new favourites! After this yearly challenge, I'm going to have way too many new faves. The theme for this week is the dotty pattern and it was difficult to narrow down which items to choose as dots are quite popular in Style Boutique. I decided to go for the glam/flirty style for the first look because when I think of glam/flirty, I think of dotted prints. Even though this look reminds me of previous outfits I've made for this theme, I still think its cute. Love the second outfit just for the pretty pink tones as I'm quite a fan of pastel pink. Clearly an excellent girly themed look! Absolutely in love with the third outfit which is a psychedelic theme. It all comes together in one crazy look and the red and black tones look stunning together.

One Year Challenge Week 15: Spring

Since we are in the last few weeks of the Spring season, it seemed like a good time to post the Spring themed outfits. The main idea of these was to resist using my favourite Spring items as I always feel that I go for the same items sometimes. The first two outfits are typical Spring styles but for the last one I went with bold as I thought that was a bit different for me. This feminine outfit shown below is lovely and would be suitable for a garden party which was the inspiration for the photoshoot location. The second outfit could pass as a cosplay with all those Purple Moon items! I was trying to go for a baby-doll look and it almost looks like a bunny got lost. I quite like the bold look as it seems super casual and comfy. I've been trying to use these longer shirt style tops more in Style Boutique as there is a wide range and you can do a lot of experiments trying to find what bottoms look best with them.

Shopdo Visits - Stylish Outfits & Stylish Friends

I was playing New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star the other day and thought it had been a little while since I visited some Shopdo boutiques. So I decided to jump online and visit from lovely players. When I had loaded up Shopdo, there actually wasn't many listed as recently active. Are people not uploading their boutiques as much or even playing the game? Even when I visited boutiques, most only had the owner there and no extra people. I did manage to find enough fun people to visit and take photos with.

First set of pictures is with this adorable Lolita and I really liked how their character used the shawl in their outfit. I would've never thought of that in a billion years! And how nice is their makeup? I never really change mine in game so I always get amazed when I see people came up with these beautiful looks. Second boutique was a stunning chic looking boutique and the owner was also dressed up as stylishly. Another shawl as well! Must've been the item of the week Shopdo wise. Loving their outfit and it matches perfectly with the hairstyle.

Found a cute cat girl! I saw her at someone's boutique and was like I need to take a photo!! I've never seen such a well designed cat themed outfit and the boots are too perfect! The cat accessories also don't clash with the look and are quite adorable. The next boutique I quite liked the outfit on the owner and I thought it was super cute. Especially the hairstyle as that worked wonderfully with the brimmed hat. The third visit was another animal themed outfit and this one was a rabbit. The designer item dress works great for a cosplay and I am shocked at how well the bunny ears worked with it. How do players have so many cool ideas?

One Year Challenge Week 14: Kanokoi

I'm excited for the theme of this week as it is time for Kanokoi! I have a fondness of this brand as the items are gorgeous and there are some lovely patterns available. The one negative I have about Kanokoi is to do with the lack of items as there isn't a wide range. I wish it was as large as say AZ-USA and there are more ideas I think the developers could explore with this brand.

For this weeks outfits, I tried to use items I hadn't used much from Kanokoi. Like I've used some of these items before but not in these colours I think. First off is a cute fish themed dress in this beautiful pink tone and I've been noticing this colour a lot more in the game. During this challenge, I've seen more items in this dusty pink colour which is a colour I was obsessed with wearing years back. The second outfit is my favourite (I would totally wear the first outfit in real life though) and it turned out really good. At first I wasn't sure about all the bright neon colours and over time it reminded me of all the neon signs you see in cities across Asia. So I liked the influence there, not sure if it was intentional but that was what inspired me. Final outfit was a good one as I managed to work a scarf into the outfit! Sometimes I struggle to use them and it matches well with the outer.
