30 Day Outfit Challenge Round-Up

Well the 30 Day Styling Star Outfit Challenge has finally come to an end and it has been a fun time. Definitely glad that I took the challenge on as I wanted a little project to focus on for the blog this month. I enjoyed talking more about the ideas behind creating the outfits and even brainstormed more ideas for future blog posts for Styling Star.

So out of the 30 days, I managed to pick out my favourite outfits from the challenge. The first one was the glam/flirty outfit. I just fell in love with this outfit after I made it! I think it's all the pink because I'm a sucker for the colour pink. I saved this outfit to my scrapbook and I'm actually wearing it in the game now with newly dyed pink hair. The second outfit is the baby-doll style outfit created for the favourite bag challenge. The colours are my favourite part of this outfit and the fact that I managed to find a top that matched the skirt and bag perfectly. The last one is the outfit from the pastel theme. I just thought it was cute and has one of my favourite hats in it.

After doing this challenge, I feel inspired to do more outfit challenges in the future. Should make for some exciting posts. A big thank to all my blog readers who visited my blog over the course of March to see the outfits I created and to anyone who took part in the challenge as well. Please leave any outfit challenges in the comments if you have suggestions for ones you'd like to me to try out in the future. Anyway, here is a round up of pictures of all the other outfits.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 30: Favourite Outfit

The final day of the 30 Day Outfit Challenge is here and it's a simple one 'Wear your favourite outfit of all time!'. This wasn't too difficult for me as I've always had a favourite outfit in the game that I'm just in love with. Readers of my blog may already know this outfit as I've worn it a lot and have had versions of it up on my Shopdo recently. So here is my number one outfit in Styling Star! I just love this dress (in all the colours but pink is my top fave) as the print and cute is gorgeous. I always pair a set of chunky heels with the dress and a cute bracelet.

There is still one more post for the 30 Day Outfit Challenge. Tomorrow I will be posting a round-up and review of the Challenge so look forward to that!

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 29: Styling Star Character

Almost at the end of the outfit challenge and the theme for today is 'Copy an outfit from your favourite Styling Star character.' I went with Camilla as she was my favourite character during the main story line due to her personality and interesting story line. Plus she has super cute outfits themed around the Baby-Doll style. I remembered what most of her original outfit looked like so it was a pretty easy task. I just kinda winged it with the bottom part as I couldn't 100% remember what socks and shoes she was wearing. I ended up changing my hair to match Camilla's hairstyle for the photo shoot.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 28: Designer Item

One of the features of Style Boutique is the ability to design your own clothing items. Whilst the item selection has been cut down in Styling Star, there are quite a few items to design. I haven't designed too many items and it's something I really need to spend more time on. But there is this one outfit I created that is my favourite one, so that's the outfit that I wore for today's theme of 'Showcase your favourite Designer item'. The outfit is one of the stage costumes and it features a cute pastel pink and yellow colour theme. I just loved how the tones complimented each other and the skirt part of the dress is just gorgeous.

If you would like to download this outfit, it is available from the Designer Centre at the Item ID: 0009601303. Remember that online content in Styling Star is region locked, so only players from the Europe/Australia region who play Style Boutique can download the item.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 27: Nintendo

Another cosplay style day with the theme being 'Dress up as a Nintendo character'. Now I'm sad that amiibos no longer unlock unique clothing items and only do designs/emblems now, but it's great that old amiibos items are available from Purple Moon. So I took advantage of that and created this Mario cosplay using the M Hat and one of the Mario T-shirt designs from the Mario amiibo. Somehow managed to find a pair of pants that almost matched the colour of the t-shirt which was a miracle. I didn't add a moustache on my character as I thought I would create a feminine inspired Mario cosplay that would be wearable as an everyday outfit. It turned out quite well and I hope if Nintendo adds more amiibo items into the next game that maybe Mario's item could be the overalls.

Style Boutique 3: Shopdo Update - Easter Edition

Updated my Shopdo catalogue with three new outfits and this weeks outfits have a special theme: Easter! Yes, I thought it would be cute to create outfits themed around Easter since it's coming up this weekend. I used the bunny ears from Purple Moon for all the outfits.

So here are my cute Easter outfits! Went with girly, gothic and baby-doll themes as they always sell well. The first one is a simple black and white casual look with the black bunny ears. For the name, I was inspired by a Japanese song by T-ARA (linked the MV which features the tackiest outfits you'll ever see) but I added in the star symbol. The second outfit is a darker look with items from the gothic image. I was going for a Alice In Wonderland inspired look with the playing cards dress and used the aqua toned dress to match the bunny ears. The final look is a lovely baby-doll style outfit with the classic white bunny ears. The outfit is a beautiful pink pastel tone and features a bunny bag perfect for the holiday! The name was inspired by the name and print on the Marble Lily dress.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 26: Pastels

Are pastels still a fashion trend? I feel like they are because whenever I walk past fashion stores here like Valleygirl and Forever New, they're always full of pastel clothes but ugly tones of pastel. I wish shops stocked more nice pastels of colours like blue and lilac instead of orange and yellow.

Anyway, the theme for day 26 was 'Pretty Pastels' which simply means to create an outfit featuring a pastel colour palette. I ended up doing some designing and created this adorable pastel coloured tee with the Animal Crossing design that unlocks when you scan in Animal Crossing amiibos or cards. The design is cute and I used a blue and pink palette as I love wearing those colours together. I paired the shirt with some pink and white colour items and a cute rainbow bracelet.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 25: Music Inspired

The theme for today was 'An otufit inspired by your favourite musician/band' and I was excited for this theme. It was a challenging one not with trying to find an outfit, but with trying to pick an artist to theme an outfit from. If you have been following my music posts, you will know that I have many favourite music artists and groups. But I decided to go with my number one favourite solo artist, Dream Ami. Previously I reviewed Dream Ami's single Lovefool Sukidatte Itte which is one of my favourite singles by her. So I decided to theme the outfit around an outfit she wears on the single cover and promo material. Here are some pictures of Ami I used for reference and the short version of the MV for the song if you are interested in hearing the song.

I kinda already had an idea of the outfit I wanted to create once I decided on using Dream Ami as my inspiration. Since this is one of my favourite singles, I already knew an outfit in the game that matched her outfit. There is a dress from Chorale that matched the appearance of the red dress Ami wears. Whilst the sleeves aren't the same length, the off the shoulder appearance of the dress matches Ami's. For the shoes, I just choose some generic red heels and I got my character's hair done to match Ami's hair style.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 24: Blazers

Originally I though about doing a preppy theme for one of the days but I decided to narrow down that idea to 'Blazers are perfect for a school day' to make it a bit more challenging. The idea was to create a school uniform inspired outfit that featured a blazer item from the outer item category. So course I turned to Brooke Bridge for inspiration which is home to the school school. Here is the preppy inspired outfit I created built around a navy blazer. I used to be a huge fan of this style of shorts in Fashion Forward but I honestly haven't used them that much in Styling Star.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 23: Favourite Bag

The theme for day 23 is 'Build an outfit around your favourite bag' and it didn't take me any time to figure out what my favourite bag in the game is as I already knew. There is a line of bags available from Raven Candle (the Striped Rose Bag) that are some of my favourite items in the entire game. But there is one colour of the bag that is my number one favourite and it is this beautiful blue and pink patterned bag. Here is a photo of the bag from the Exhibition Hall.

Now here is the outfit I created using items that fell under the Baby-Doll theme. I matched up items from Marble Lily and Raven Candle. At first I thought about using a dress, but then whilst searching through the items I remembered this tiered skirt from Marble Lily that matches the colour scheme of the bag. And there is even a inner/top to match the skirt! Ended up taking quite a few pictures of the outfit as I was pleased with how it turned out.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 22: Cosplay

A common theme players use for inspiration for outfits is cosplay, so that is the theme for day 22. The prompt is pretty simple: Cosplay Time! So it's just creating an outfit based off a character from real life or whatever form of entertainment i.e. anime. I'm not really into anime so there wasn't many characters I could think or. I used to cosplay years ago for conventions but I don't do it anymore as I kinda lost interest and it was an expensive hobby.

So I was pretty boring today and just picked out an outfit from Purple Moon. Decided to be a pirate for some reason, maybe as an excuse to wear the silly glasses and moustache set. I did the photo shoot at the Cake Shop as a joke that the pirate was looting the place. And I also want to point out how funny the first pose is. I hardly use it but it makes me laugh at how random it is.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 21: Supernatural Inspired

When trying to think up themes for the challenge, one of my original ideas was a vampire theme. However I decided to make this a bit more broad and changed the theme to 'Halloween comes early! An outfit inspired by the supernatural and spooky'. I thought supernatural would have more interpretation than just vampires and I felt a bit inspired by the Sims expansion pack Supernatural as well.

In the end, I did create a vampire inspired outfit as I already had an idea of the kind of outfit I wanted to create. Plus it finally gave me an excuse to use this mask from Raven Candle. I do think we need more masks in the game, but I just never end up using them. Anyway, here's the gothic style outfit I created that was inspired by vampires.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 20: Least Favourite Style

We all have our favourite styles in Style Boutique and then there's our least favourite styles. And the theme for day 20 is all about least favourite image/style with the prompt being 'Wear an outfit from your least favourite style'. My least favourite style may come as a surprise to some people. It's the bold style. I just don't really wear this style much and some of the items from the image (mainly AZ-USA) just look a bit poorly designed so I avoid using them. There are some great items available for the bold image, I just prefer dressing in girly or preppy looks.

There is one bold outfit that I really like that I once gave Yolanda as an outfit at the boutique. So I decided to copy that outfit for my own outfit for the theme. The outfit has a bold purple colour to it and uses some of the new items available at AZ-USA.
