September Favourites

Last day of September today so that means another round of monthly favourites. I feel this month went super quick but I'm glad October is finally here as that means the weather will warm up a little bit and we'll be into summer weather in no time!

Gaming
My 100 Outfit Challenge in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star will be finishing up in the next few days and I've done stacks of posts of outfits this month for the challenge. You can find them all on the Challenge Page if you want to catch up on the challenge. It's been a great opportunity to try out looks I normally wouldn't do like this gorgeous girly/feminine inspired outfit based around my favourite colour pink and least favourite colour red.

October's Shopdo updates will be all about Halloween outfits and I've posted my first round yesterday! I am thinking of changing the posting schedule of Shopdo after October due to my personal schedule becoming a lot busier towards Christmas. I might go to monthly updates for Shopdo as I've been struggling sometimes with coming up with outfits each week and it's difficult sometimes to get time to update each weekend. It's just something I've been thinking about for a little while and it might be time to switch it up a bit. I want to try and start posting a monthly Caprice Chalet update as well like I used to.

Music
Been listening to a variety of stuff this month as I just listen to whatever is on my current playlist in my car mostly. I've still been listening to Wink and FEMM non-stop which I posted about last month. Aitai-tai from Red Velvet's #CookieJar has been another favourite stuck in my head as has Black Widow from Pristin. At least Pledis finally announced their disbandment a little while back, now if only we could get an official confirmation on After School after all these years of nothing. Happiness has a new song out called Chao Chao which is amazing as usual and Dream Ami brought out a new digital single 恋のつぼみ Koi no Tsubomi. I was hoping for a new physical single or album as I wanted to get one from CDJapan for my birthday. But I'm guessing this song will be on her next release.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 92: Favourite & Least Favourite Colour

Today's outfit blew me away as I wasn't expecting this theme to turn out so well and it has become one of my top outfits of the entire challenge. The idea was to combine my favourite and least favourite colours together into one outfit. Now pink is my favourite colour and red is my least favourite colour but luckily these colours are quite close to each in terms of colour palettes. I went straight to this inner as I knew it had both colours in it and built the rest of the outfit around it. It actually turned out quite well and very stylish. I actually used more red than pink items in the outfit and I think that helped make the outfit really pop.

Shopdo Update - Halloween Themed Boutique

Since October will soon be upon us, I thought I'd give the boutique a special Halloween make-over! For the month of October, I will be doing special Halloween themed outfits for my Shopdo updates since October is the spooky month. The first outfit for Halloween is your usual cheerleader ensemble which is just the basic cheerleader outfit from Purple Moon with some lively items added in. Perfect for your teen horror movie! The next outfit is a cute bunny themed coordinate in the baby-doll style. I love using this bunny ears from Purple Moon at Easter time for outfits, but why not add them in for Halloween as well? Final outfit is a elegant vampire inspired look once again featuring an item from Purple Moon. It really is the Halloween brand isn't it? I love this look as it is rather stylish yet mysterious. You can find all three outfits at my Shopdo ID 0006271056 in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Quick look at my Halloween themed boutique which has an elegant Gothic inspired interior. I decided on using a couch in the centre of the room as I rarely do that and it feels a bit more cosy. Of course I included a black cat as it's the quintessential Halloween animal. My character has a Halloween themed outfit on for the new look and this outfit is one of my usual get-ups I wear around Halloween time in the game. I really do miss the Halloween themed DLC items from Fashion Forward as they were perfect for this holiday!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 91: Gothic

The gothic coordinate of my 100 Outfit Challenge is finally here and I've gone for a gothic look I've never really tried before. I'm quite a fan of the musical design of this skirt and I think it's one of the more unique designs in the game. It has such beautiful detail and even has a camisole to match the musical theme. To continue with the musical theme of this coordinate, I used this piano handbag from Raven Candle however the colour is slightly off compared to the green in the skirt and inner. I quite like this gothic look as it's a bit more elegant than my usual gothic coordinates where I use the pannier skirt/dress items.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 90: Buttoned Up

On the home stretch now with Day 90 of the challenge and the theme for today is Buttoned Up! The idea of this theme is to use an outer that contains button. The inspiration for this theme was the outers that are rarely used by players. I feel there's a large number of outers towards to bottom of the list that get ignored. I know myself I tend to not scroll that far down or avoid them due to looking too bulky. For my Buttoned Up outfit, I went with this preppy inspired outfit as I wanted to use this quirky card print inspired outer from Brooke Bridge. This jacket has a unique design and colour tones to it which I tried to match in the plaid skirt. The make-up I've been using throughout this entire challenge was perfectly suited for this preppy style look.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 89: Lazy

Today is all about being lazy as we haven't really had a day off like this during this 100 Outfit Challenge. I just went for a pjama look because is there any better way to explain the word lazy in clothing form. It's amazing how these items from Marzipan Sky and Marble Lily legit look like sleepwear! I always thought these pants were pjamas and they paired up well with this outer and shoes from Marble Lily. Funny how the shoes look just like ugg boots, I wonder if they are based off a Lolita style shoe in Japan. Because over here they just remind me of ugg boots (or slippers for all my non-Australian readers). Anyway shoe discussion aside, I thought this look was cute and it was exciting to find sleepwear looking items that match so well in an outfit.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 88: Green

I feel I've kinda run out of captions to write for all these outfits after posting 87 of them. Today is just another colour themed day with today's outfit all about green. I went with a girly look as I'm still into these camisoles from Marzipan Sky. This one is interesting in particular as it contains different patterns but the design still looks amazing. I paired it with a basic skirt and some trainers as it's a pretty casual look. The girly style is kinda like that for me, it's my version of basic really. I tend to wear pretty basic girly styled clothing in real life so I try to go for that look in game sometimes. Plus Marzipan Sky has some great casual looking items in a variety of colours and patterns.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Play Journal - Gulliver Problems

Over the last few months, I've been enjoying Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp and was playing it religiously. I did all the events, all the tasks for villagers and completed all the goals and daily tasks that were available. Now if you've been following the game, you'll know that a new update was rolled out recently that pretty much broke the game. The developers have basically made the game in a cash-grab with huge gambling aspects and locking content behind micro-transaction aspects. Sure the micro-transaction aspect of leaf tickets as always been in the game and you could get away pretty easily without spending real money on the game. But now the once beloved Gulliver who you could previously unload all your duplicates to for treats and new villagers has become a major cash grab and time intensive aspect of the game. The chance of getting the new villagers from him are slim and the amount of materials, bells and time you need to invest in to get anything from him is ridiculous. So when the new update came out, I loaded my game up however it kept crashing for me so I couldn't even check out the new features. I headed over to the Pocket Camp Reddit and boy was I shocked. There was stacks of threads about how the developers broke the game economy and ruined many game features. Once I could finally get into my game, I went to check out Gulliver for myself which rather confused me. I kinda figured it out but the rewards I had were really stupid ones. A bunch of shirts I already had and other junk that is not worth investing a stack of good materials on. And the kicker is that each reward has a chance of being gotten so you don't even know 100% what you'll get. If you want to see different rewards, either wait 5 days or pay 300,000 bells. The list goes on and on about the new Gulliver system and it's craziness but I cannot understand it enough to explain. I've tried the new system out once and it definitely wasn't worth it. So I'm just ignoring it for now until Nintendo does something about it. Anyway, here's the recent round of game screenshots I had saved so let's start off with this adorable photo of Bob!

A while back there was a fun Hello Kitty themed event in Pocket Camp and the gyroid hunt had these adorable Hello Kitty inspired designs. Oh so adorable! I think the unique gyroid designs for the events were one of the best aspects of the game for me. There was a chance to craft this cute Hello Kitty amenities if you collected enough materials for it. There was also a bunch of leaf ticket fortune cookie sets based off Sanrio characters to buy as well. I got quite a few of the Ponponpurin furniture and clothing items as they were my favourites.

Some snapshots of recent fishing adventures and some fishing tourney stuff. Fishing was always something I enjoyed in Pocket Camp and found the system much easier to play than New Leaf. Fish seem to hate you in New Leaf but Pocket Camp makes is much easier to catch them, especially rarer fish. I even caught a Coelacanth without even trying and within a few months of playing!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 87: Hat

Do you ever have a certain clothing item that you always wear like 80% of the time? Well I feel that's me with this style of hat in the Style Boutique games. I just always go back to them as these berets are too cute and go well with so many outfits. I tried to use items in the rest of the outfit that I normally don't use. This dress matches well with the purple shades of the beret and I added some purple toned accessories for the final touch. These patterned dresses are kinda cute and I should definitely try using them more!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 86: Glasses

It's no surprise of what item I used for the glasses theme as there is only one pair of glasses that are my number one pair in the game. And that's this stylish pair from Enid Chen! They are my go to glasses when creating chic themed outfits and I think most chic outfits I've created within the last few months have always included this pair. I can't decided which colour of the glasses is my favourite so I went with a pair that matched a dress I haven't used much. The pattern on this dress is so crazy and feels very over the top which isn't that what expensive clothes are sometimes about. Like being gaudy as and feel very exclusive.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 85: Under $29

I'm actually surprised at how good this outfit turned out considering the challenge of building an outfit with items under $29. I was worried at first that the outfit would look too basic and just like my basic styled outfits. But it kinda came out in a psychedelic style which is interesting. I tried to use items from a variety of brands and not just Basic U. The final look is quite fashionable and out of the box and I love how the skirt matches the t-shirt print. The only thing I struggled with is the shoes and I went with these to match the psychedelic look of the t-shirt.

Shopdo Update

This week's selection of outfits are a colourful and fun bunch to match the lively look of my current boutique. The first outfit is a lovely pastel toned lively themed outfit featuring a camisole, skirt and some slip-on shoes. I quite like this camisole from April Bonbon and it's colour scheme. The second outfit is a psychedelic look made from some new items to the Retrobeat brand. I think these dresses are quite a unique design and it's nice to see items such as this in the game. Lastly we have another lively outfit which completely turned out all red! I really wanted to use this rose patterned bodice in the outfit and just picked a bunch of random red toned items to go with it. I quite like the final product and it's super adorable! You can find all three outfits at Shopdo ID 0006271056 in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

100 Outfit Challenge Day 84: Basic

Nice and simple outfit for today as I've gone for a basic outfit. Styling Star is the first game that I've made the most basic outfits in, most due to challenges. But I feel the brand Basic U received some great new items in the game and that encouraged me to use it more. Especially these stunning camisoles as I rarely use those items in previous games. This particular item is my favourite camisole from the brand and I always pair it with items of the same colour tone. So enjoy this lovely casual look to celebrate the basic style!

100 Outfit Challenge Day 83: Garden

Spring time is the perfect time for a garden themed look and that's what I've got for you today! Used these lovely shorts from Soy that have this floral pattern to them and used natural tones to get that earthly feel to my outfit. Had to go with a straw hat of course to protect from the sun rays and keep you cool. For the photoshoot location, I headed to the flower fields of course because it was the most suitable location and the tulips look stunning in the background. I would love to visit some tulip fields some day as they look gorgeous and it's fascinating to see them all in a row like that.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 82: Splatoon

I'm just looking at this outfit now to write this post and was thinking what on earth did I create? Then I remember the theme was Splatoon and it all makes sense now! It's just so all over the place colour wise this outfit when I saw it again but isn't that what Splatoon is about? Crazy colours all over the place and paint splatters! For this look, I just used the Inking leggings from Purple Moon and some Splatoon items I designed with the designs you unlock from the Splatoon amiibo in game. This T-Shirt is kinda cool, but I wish you could add more than two colours to it as you could come up with some awesome designs.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 81: Silver

Wow we finally hit the 80's after such a long time and I've gone with another colour themed outfit for today. When it comes to the colour silver, I feel Enid Chen has the best selection of items in that colour. I guess because silver is more associated with luxurious items and I feel with other brands, it just looks a bit cheap in the design of the items. For my outfit, I choose this stunning silver toned formal party dress from Enid Chen and paired it with a cute tiara from Purple Moon. It's so beautiful and makes me wish we had more formal party items in the game.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 80: Leg Warmers

Honest question for all the Style Boutique players out there, does anyone really use leg warmers? I only have them as I buy them to complete my collection for each brand. But I just never use them! So that was my main inspiration for today's theme as I wanted to try to create an outfit built around some leg warmers. I went with a girly outfit as I feel that's my comfort zone and I'm pleased with how it turned out. Now this isn't the best ensemble for cold weather but it still looks cute! The leg warmers look stylish when paired with some boots and I tried to incorporate the same pink tones from the leg warmers into the rest of the outfit.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 79: 2000's

For this 2000's themed, I kinda struggled a bit with what kind of outfit to recreate. There was so many crazy fashion trends in the 2000's and it's cringy to remember some of them. I decided to go with this simple dress look as I feel like it close to what I wore then. It seems that this may be the first time I've actually used this dress, I can't recall another time I've used it in an outfit. It's quite cute and simple and feels very girly or glam image wise. I do miss the 2000's though as I'm more into the music of back then than today in terms of western music. Nowadays I don't listen to any current music (apart from Asian releases) unless they play a new release on the stereo at work. Then it's usually something bad in my opinion and it's better when we put on older stuff. I guess the early 2000's was just trashier pop music wise and I love my trash pop music. As well as genres such as rock because back in the day, I was a huge Living End fan and hard core collected all their releases. Maybe I'll post about that one day as I have quite a number of CD's from them.

100 Outfit Challenge Day 78: Stripes

Another pattern themed day for Day 78 and I've gone with one of my own creations. This is a dress I made very early on in the game for the Design Centre. It's a pretty basic design where I just went with pastel tones and stripes for the pattern. I feel like the design options are very limited in Styling Star and the areas you can colour are too restrictive. It's annoying how I can't choose what colours I want where or choose different tones for the motifs. I feel games I played back in the day like flash or Barbie PC games had more design selections. I've got this dress available for download on the Design Centre if you are from the EUR/AUS region and you can find my post about it here!

Shopdo Update

I'm back with a new set of outfits for the Shopdo Update and all three outfits match to the lively boutique thing I've currently got going on. First off is a girly styled outfit featuring items from April Bonbon. Sometimes I like to do this thing where you pick a style but choose items not from the main style brand. I think there's a few challenges around you can do centred around this concept. I had to pick some shoes from Marzipan Sky though as there wasn't any girly styled shoes from April Bonbon. Second outfit is a lively one which kinda reminds me of Alina's outfits from the story line. I went with an all purple colour scheme for this and I swear this isn't the first time I've paired this polka dot tee with this overalls set. Last but not least is a sporty inspired outfit which whilst not as colourful as the other two outfits, it's still a fun outfit. I went with items from April Bonbon as a lot of the Streetflow items ended up there. All three outfits are available at Shopdo ID 0006271056 in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

100 Outfit Challenge Day 77: Lively

This 100 Outfit Challenge has gone on so long that I thought I had already done a Lively themed day. Anyway here is my over the top lively outfit which is a mix of items from April Bonbon. The thing I like about creating lively outfits is that you can just chuck a bunch of things together and it works out. The fluro or neon items are always a good bet and that's what I went with for this look. April Bonbon is the only brand I tend to use vests from as they have the best selection. It was nice to go back to this cat skirt and paint splatter style socks as I used to love them in Fashion Forward but haven't used them a super lot in Styling Star.

Pungdeng-E プンデンイ Japan 1st Single 側にいて Stay - Single Review (Type A Edition)

The final piece in the Pungdeng-E Japanese discography series is finally here to complete my collection. Well I did actually get this a little while ago, I've just had time to finally write a review of the single. This is the Type A Edition of Pungdeng-E's debut Japanese single 側にいて Stay and boy is it hard to get hold of. It took me over a year to find the Type B edition (which you can find my review of here!) and then months later I finally found the Type A edition. Here is the single in all it's beauty and hilarious spelling errors.

Pungdeng-E プンデンイ Japan 1st Single 側にいて Stay
側にいて Stay is Pungdeng-E's 1st and so far only Japanese single. THe group has only released this single in two editions and a Japanese debut album. They have stacks of promo in Japan but never really release anything which is disappointing. 側にいて Stay comes in two editions: Type A and Type B. It's one of those fun releases that you can only get at events the group holds in certain stores in Japan. I brought both my editions from private sellers in Japan who would've brought them at the events. The Type A edition is exactly the same as Type B and just has a different cover and design. It comes with the following contents:

  • CD - 4 Track single
  • Jewel case
  • Lyrics booklet

Pungdeng-E プンデンイ Japan 1st Single 側にいて Stay
Compared to the fun and quirky design of Type B, Type A has a cute maid theme to the single. It has each member in a maid outfit to match their corresponding colour (Red, Yellow & Blue). The single has photos on both the front and back cover and the design layout is the same as Type B. The four tracks on the single are listed on the back along with production credits.

Pungdeng-E プンデンイ Japan 1st Single 側にいて Stay
