Shopdo Update - Elegant Boutique

I can't believe the final Shopdo update for 2018 is here. Today we say goodbye to the Christmas themed boutique and hello to this stunning elegant layout and set of feminine outfits. The first outfit matches the cream and beige colour scheme of the new boutique layout. I love this outfit for it's elegance and mixture of patterns. The second outfit features one of my favourite new items to the Chorale brand, these giant cape dress outer things. I still can't decide on what to call them, I just love them so much! The last outfit is a casual look featuring another new item to the Chorale brand. These peplum style tops are super cute and I love the peter pan collar. I could totally see myself wearing this in real life as it's right up my alley. You can visit my new elegant boutique at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

I had a wonderful time desiging the new boutique layout and it turned out perfectly! The colour scheme is elegant and soft on the eyes. Everything matches well which can be tricky in the game sometimes. My character is showcasing a new feminine outfit which was recently featured in my Colour Outfits Collection for the shade white.

My K-Pop Collection 2018

The other week I posted my J-Pop Collection for 2018 so it's now time for my K-Pop Collection for 2018! I only brought a few new additions for my K-Pop collection this year as I was focusing more on Japanese releases. Most of the new K-Pop albums and singles I got this year were releases from 2018 and others were cheap ones I came across. Just like with my J-Pop collection post, I'll be listing everything at the end as well as any reviews I have posted of the albums and singles. So here's a picture of all my K-Pop albums and singles and boy was it a pain to get them to sit up for this. I think next time I'll have to find somewhere bigger for the photo or take separate ones as K-Pop releases are much larger than standard jewel cases.

First off is something I haven't posted about on Marzipan Wonderland yet. Last month I brought a Crayon Pop single that I had been wanting for ages. It's the groups 4th single Bar Bar Bar and it's hard to come by. Most copies I usually see were quite pricey however I got this one for 950JPY from Japan. So excited to add this to my Crayon Pop collection as they are one of my favourite groups. No other additions to my Korean Crayon Pop collection so here's a quick picture of all the releases together.

The one I.O.I release I was missing from my collection was re-issued earlier this year so I picked it up for my collection. The mini-album I got was Miss Me? which is the groups second physical release. I think Chrysalis still has my favourite packaging out of the three but it's the hardest to store for me. I always have it standing up because it's difficult to put in my bookshelf on it's side with other albums.

Added a new group to my collection this year and that was WJSN! I've always kinda been interested in the group but not on a serious level. I got the groups 1st Album Happy Moment as a random buy into town one day and the Dream Your Dream mini album was a purchase from Japan. I mainly picked it up as it was incredibly cheap and I was interested in collecting the groups releases. I've actually ordered their first mini album Would You Like? and it should be here next month.

My Favourite Shopdo Outfits Of 2018

2018 has been a wonderful year for Shopdo updates and I made so many amazing outfits for my Shopdo each week. My Shopdo which you can find at ID 006271056 had 44 updates this year and you can find blog posts of each update on the Catalogues Updates page. I thought I'd do a little round up of all my favourite outfits from Shopdo and find out which style I like the best. And that style looks like it's Baby-Doll/Gothic with most of my favourite looks falling into those styles. These styles tend to be the ones I use the most as the outfits always look stunning and popular. I love how elegant and princess like the brands Marble Lily and Raven Candle are. Here are a selection of my favourite Baby-Doll and Gothic styled Shopdo outfits.

Shopdo Update - Christmas Themed Boutique

It's Christmas time and my boutique is all decked out in festive items! This week's outfits all feature a festive theme and I went with a red and green colour scheme for the outfits. The first look is a baby-doll coordinate featuring one of the new dresses in Styling Star. This outfit would be perfect for Christmas lunch or dinner in a cooler climate. Probably not here in Australia because our Christmas Day is going to nearly be 40 degrees then Boxing Day is going to be even hotter! No such thing as Christmas sweaters over here because you'd probably get heat stroke if you tried wearing one. The second outfit is titled Christmas Ghost and I went with a girly festive look using one of the new outers to the style. The final outfit is a gothic outfit featuring items from the music note outfits. I thought the musical themed matched the idea of Christmas Carols so that was my inspiration. You can find all these outfits and my new Christmas themed boutique at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

I love the outfit photos for this week's Shopdo Update because you can perfectly see the Christmas tree and presents lined up in the background. Here's a photo of the Christmas boutique that I will have available for visit for just one week. I went with a fairly simple look as there are not that many Christmas items in Styling Star. The Christmas tree and presents would be the main items then the Christmas Candle and Yule Log on the table. I hung up some tinsel along the walls and a festive wreath as well. Both myself and my lovely assistant have preppy outfits on for the holidays so why not come visit us to celebrate!

Colour Outfits Collection - White

I'm quite enjoying these colour outfit collection posts so here is a new one! This time the colour is white which wasn't challenging at all because there are plenty of items for every brand that fit within this colour tone. I had too many favourites for this collection and these include preppy, feminine, baby-doll and bold. I love the subtle touches of green in the bold outfit and I really need to pair leggings with shorts more often.

My J-Pop Collection 2018

Last year I posted a round-up of my Japanese Pop collection so it was only natural to do another round-up post for 2018. And boy did I get a lot of new additions to my J-Pop collection this year. 2018 was the first year I got into seriously collecting Japanese releases and managed to pick up quite a few items that were on the top of my wishlist. I'll be listing all the titles in my collection at the end of the post as that list is quite long and I want to get straight into the photos rather than text. I'm just posting photos of new additions to my collection and you can check out photos of items that aren't posted in the J-Pop Collection 2017 post. I'll also link all the reviews for J-Pop releases I've posted at the end. So here is my collection all together and my collection has grown quite a lot since last years photo.

The biggest haul for this year would have to be my Afterschool haul from Zenmarket. I picked up this amazing CD set from a seller in Japan of a bunch of Afterschool Japanese and Korean releases. With this set, I was able to complete the set of Bang!, Diva and Lady Luck/Dilly Dally. Plus I was able to get my hands on the Heaven Mu-Mo set which is quite rare. Here are all my Afterschool J-Pop singles and albums, not quite a complete collection yet but hopefully I'll get all their releases in the future.

Next is my favourite solo artist Dream Ami who released two new singles this year, Amaharu and Wonderland. Wonderland has my favourite design by far but I still love all her single and album designs. Considering how bad most E-girls designs were, Ami seems to get beautiful designs for her releases. Ami will be releasing a new single next year so looking forward to a new addition to the collection and I still need to pick up a copy of her album RE: Dream but I'm waiting to find one for a good price.

MOMOLAND was a group I got into this year and have quite a few releases from them both Korean and Japanese. So far the group has released two Japanese singles BBoom BBoom and BAAM and both have been amazing. For their Japanese releases, I have the First Press Limited Edition B CD+Photobook edition of BBoom BBoom and the First Press regular CD edition of BAAM. Hoping the group brings out more Japanese releases in 2019 and hopefully a full album.

Found a copy of Pungdeng-E's 1st Japanese single 側にいて Stay in Type B a few months back and it was a lucky find. I am yet to find the Type A edition yet which is understandable considering how long it took to find the Type B edition. Here are my two Japanese releases from the group and even though the group performs a lot in Japan, they haven't brought out any new releases for a long time. Which is a shame, I'd love to see some new content from the girls.

Shopdo Update

I've gone with another week of blue outfits for Shopdo this week and will post a special Christmas themed update next week. The first outfit for this update is a girly themed outfit perfect for the warmer weather. I used to love this top and skirt from Marzipan Sky in Fashion Forward, but haven't used it much in Styling Star. So that was my inspiration for the outfit. The second outfit is a baby-doll look as they are always super adorable. I went with a more casual coordinate this time featuring one of the cute bear hoodies. The final outfit is quite bold and features a pop of a darker tone to contrast with the light blue. I'm quite enjoying these dresses from AZ-USA so I used the blue toned dress in a bold outfit. I rarely post bold outfits to my Shopdo so it was nice to do something different. You can find all these outfits at Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Summer Lookbook

Summer is finally here so it's time for the Summer Lookbook! I tried to go with outfits I thought were appropriate for the summers we have here so  that means very hot. The weather hasn't been to warm as of yet, like we'll have one day over 30 then the temperature will go straight back down to 20. So I'm looking forward to when it's actually warm around late December or January.

Here are the outfits for the Summer Lookbook and I have to say they all turned out quite lovely. My top outfits would be gothic, lively, feminine, girly and psychedelic. It seems I just had too many favourites with this lookbook!

Shopdo Update

Continuing on with the blue theme in this weeks Shopdo update. The first outfit is a common outfit that I often use on Shopdo. I've posted it previously in a few different colours so I thought it was time for the blue version. I couldn't match a bag perfectly to the outfit this time round so I went without one. The second outfit is a feminine look featuring the stripey knit dress from Chorale. I quite like these dresses for their unique design and great colour schemes. The final outfit is a baby-doll look in a more simple style coordinate. You can find all three outfits at my Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Recreating Modelling Jobs - Part 2

A while ago I made a post about recreating the modelling jobs from Fashion Forward in Styling Star. Well I got around to finally recreating some more outfits from my old modelling jobs. And somehow this time I ended up creating outfits that all had the same hairstyle. Boy I knew I liked that hairstyle, but I didn't know I liked it that much. I used to use it all the time in Fashion Forward but not so much in Styling Star.

This first photoshoot is one of my favourite ones from Fashion Forward. THe theme was 'Your Happiest Day' and I decided to go with a dress I designed for a commission request. It turned out to be one of the best items I made in the game and worked perfectly for the romantic theme.

So for the recreation, I made the dress again in Styling Star. Lucky the game still had the exact design and pattern in the game so I was able to match it perfectly. Only problem though is that you cannot wear necklaces with some designer items. Whenever I tried to add on the necklace, it removed my dress. So I had to go without but it looks stunning still. You may notice the hair doesn't match and that's because I could not figure out which shade it was and I was being totally colour blind trying to figure it out late one night. I settled on the hotel pool for the photoshoot as the Lovers Bell isn't in Styling Star. Same frame was in the game so that was an easy match.

Next up is the 'Fill The Town With Jazz' request which saw me create this chic ensemble. No idea why I thought chic meant music when bold may have been a better choice. And look, I even loved these Enid Chen glasses in Fashion Forward.

All the items from the outfit are included in Styling Star so it was a simple recreation. The poses match pretty well, Fashion Forward seems to angle the camera when you take photos for some reason. I only really noticed until I started comparing photos from the two games and honestly they should've added a rotate option in for players to use themselves. The same music themed frame was in Styling Star so another perfect match!

MOMOLAND BAAM (Japanese Version) - Single Review (Regular CD Edition)

MOMOLAND released their second Japanese single BAAM last month and I recently received my copy of the single in the mail. I ended up getting just the regular CD edition as the other two versions where a tad out of the price range for the moment. The other editions are stunning though so I will be picking them up in the future. Anyway for now, let's take a look at BAAM from MOMOLAND!

MOMOLAND's second Japanese second BAAM (Regular CD Edition)

BAAM is the second Japanese single from K-Pop group MOMOLAND and was released in November 2018. The single comes in three editions: Limited Edition A CD+DVD, Limited Edition B CD+DVD+Sticker and a Regular CD Edition. No photocards are included in the single, but you do receive a special one if your purchase the single from certain retailers and online stores in Japan. The regular CD edition inlcudes the following contents:

  • CD- 4 Track Album
  • Jewel Case
  • OBI Strip
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Event Ticket (First Press Only)
  • SOLE FURY x MOMOLAND promo flyer

MOMOLAND Event Ticket & SOLE FURY x MOMOLAND promo flyer

All editions of the single come in the standard jewel case. Now I don't mind these types of releases but the groups previous Japanese release BBoom BBoom had a photobook version. I've posted a review of that edition here and I was hoping the group would continue with the same format for their future Japanese releases but they did not. A photobook edition would've been amazing as I love the outfits the group wears on all the single covers. I'm the kinda person who likes consistent album designs for releases so that the collection has a theme to it. Say for example, Orange Caramel used the same sized album designs for their Korean releases or KARA always had the jewel cases for their Japanese singles. It's sound fussy I know, but I like to have my collection looking streamlined and not all over the place size wise.

The design of the regular CD edition is quite cute and has the girls in striped themed outfits sitting around a globe on the front cover. The back photo for me though is way better and I personally would've put it on the front instead. The background is a tangerine kinda colour and keeps reminding me of Streets Go Disco from Crayon Pop which I have in the Australian jewel case release.
