August Favourites

This month went way too quick and I feel like I didn't do anything besides work. So this month's favourites might be a bit small as I didn't get up too much to experience too many things.

Gaming
Played a little bit of New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star this month, but only really creating outfits. I'm thinking of actually doing New Game+ soon to bring some excitement back into the game as I'm getting a bit bored of nothing happening in my game. Probably sometime next month once I've got enough material for guides and I can restart. I did however come across this amusing glitch whilst updating my Shopdo the other day. When I went to update the outfits, one of them had this bizarre line through the top 3DS screen. It didn't appear with the other two outfits so it was quite strange.

During September, I will finally be doing the 30 Day Cosplay Challenge that has been going around on tumblr for a while. It took me a while to get around to doing it as I had to think of 30 things to cosplay. I will be posting one cosplay a day for the entire month, so remember to check each day for a new outfit!

Music
This month I've mainly just been waiting for new releases from some of favourite groups. Dream Ami has a new single scheduled for October and MOMOLAND announced the Japanese version of BAAM for November so I'm excited for both of those. Will probably get the CD Only of Dream Ami as I usually do and I'm not sure for BAAM as of yet but I'm leaning towards Type B. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu also announced a new album so that one is added to list. I have a large Zenmarket haul arriving this week so I'm looking forward to sharing what I got as it's lots of albums I've been wanting for a long time.

No particular stand out favourite song this month as I've just been listening to my backlog. But I have been enjoying some music from April recently. I only have their Boing Boing album so far, but I'm interested in collecting some more. I quite like their song Yes Sir which I've linked below.

Beauty
I came across an amazing discovery recently in the form of a lip balm. Now I used to be a fan of Lipsmackers when I was younger however I had to stop wearing them due to allergies to the favouring and perfume in them. The other week I was at Chemist Warehouse and noticed a new Lipsmacker item in the lip balm section. It seems the company has released a natural lip balm line called Kiss Therapy. The lip balms are dermatologist tested and contain moisturising agents to improve the look of lips. I also love how they are SPF 30 (very helpful in Australia) and the scents are wonderful. I only have the Superfruit one so far as I haven't come across the other favours just yet. I wish I was able to find the 4-pack set in store but I might have to try online.

Shopdo Visits

It's Shopdo visits time again! I've had these pictures saved for a few weeks now so I thought I would post them. First off, I visited a blog reader of mine and another Style Boutique player Perfidie! Loved the chic outfit and cute kitty sitting on the floor of the boutique. I use that same decorating trick because you doesn't love kitties. You can visit Perfidie here on tumblr!

Next is this cute player I came across on Shopdo. I loved how simple yet girly/elegant their outfit looked. Pink and grey always look lovely together and the blonde hairstyle brings the outfit together.

Found a psychedelic style player on Shopdo, I usually find the best ones on there. I was quite amazed at how great their outfit looked with the combination of the Kanokoi skirt with Retrobeat items. It totally works! Totally groovy boutique layout featuring another cute cat.

I just had to take a photo with this player as they had an amiibo inspired shirt on as well. I thought we matched well with their Star Hairpin and Legend of Zelda items and my Kirby Tee.

Lastly is a player that I thought had a particular elegant outfit. Their hair is perfect and I love the chic/feminine coordinate. The design of their boutique also caught my eye, I thought it was very unique.

Shopdo Update

Three new outfits for the final Shopdo update for August! The first outfit is a beautiful pastel themed feminine outfit to match the feminine interior of the boutique. I went with a yellow, green and blue toned outfit featuring items that had a pastel hue to them. The second outfit is a preppy inspired outfit which I built around this jacket from Brooke Bridge that I rarely use. I'm trying to use items more that I've never tried before and this outfit was a result of that. The final outfit is a glam/flirty inspired look titled Miss Glam after the defunct style from previous games. Went with a darker pink and black toned look for this glam outfit which is a step away from my usual purple glam outfits I love creating. You can visit my Shopdo at ID 0006271056 if you play Style Boutique 3 (EUR/AUS Region).

Least Favourite Brand Challenge: Soy

When chatting with other Style Boutique/Style Savvy players, the topic of least used/favourite brand or style often arises. I can easily point out my least used styles/images in the game easily and they would be boho-chic and bold. These are the two styles I tend to wear the least and ones I tend not to use as my go-to's for outfits. The only time I really use them is for guides or selling items to customers at the boutique. Well that's all about to change! It's time for challenge where I create a series of outfits from my least used styles. Today I'll be focusing on the brand Soy which is home to the Boho-Chic style.

Soy features clothing items in earthy tones and bohemian inspired looks. The brand has a variety of items ranging from maxi skirts, winter jackets, clutches, scarfs and straw hats. New items such as bracelets have been added to the brand in Styling Star and the stackable style ones are perfect for outfits. I love the natural tones of the items from Soy and the tie-dye prints are stunning. Soy has some abstract style prints to its items and I can best describe Soy's items as festival wear. The items always remind me of the bohemian look you see promoted around music festival time.

I've put together a bunch of items using items from the Soy brand. I tried to create a range of outfits mix and matching items such as dresses, pants or skirts. Incorporated some accessories such as scarfs and bags as well. Comment down below which outfit you think best represents the boho-chic style or which one is your favourite!

Colour Outfits Collection - Green

Been a little while since I posted a colour collection of outfits from Styling Star. This time round, I'm tackling the colour green. I used the yellow-green and green colour options for these outfits and I have to say, I'm not entirely fond of a lot of these outfits. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of entirely green outfits. The baby-doll, bold and feminine ones would be my top favourites. The Baby-Doll one is quite cute and totally something I wish existed in real life. The bold one actually turned out really nice and I wasn't expecting the top and skirt combo to work. And with the feminine one, I've always been wanting to work one of these long dresses into a look recently. Anyway, here's my collection of green outfits for Styling Star! Also leave any suggestions of what colour you'd like me to tackle next, I'm planning to do the entire colour palette in the game.

Shopdo Update - Feminine Interior

The rock style interior is out and feminine style is in this week in my latest Shopdo update! I thought it was time to move on from the awesome rock style interior and go for a more elegant simplistic look. This week's Shopdo update introduces a new feminine interior which I'll talk more about later, but first let's look at the new outfits!

This week's outfit are inspired by the new interior. The first outfit belongs to the feminine image which isn't one I've featured much on my Shopdo. I came across this trench skirt which I've never payed attention to before. I quite like the design of it, so I decided to build a classy brown toned outfit around it. The second outfit is a chic outfit featuring purple tones and one of my favourite jackets from Enid Chen. I don't often do chic style outfits on Shopdo but I was pleased with how this one turned out. And I got a chance to use some stylish glasses that I love the coloured details of. The last and final outfit is a classic design of mine and one of my favourite outfits in the game. I've featured this ensemble a number of times on Marzipan Wonderland and I thought it was time to break it out for Shopdo once again. I went with the pink toned coordinate this week to match the new soft coloured feel of the boutique. You can check out all these outfits at my Shopdo ID 0006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS region).

For the boutqiue interior, I felt like creating a simple feminine inspired interior. I'm not usually one for putting so few items in the space, but I didn't feel like anything else fitted. I always try to make my designs symmetrical and I wanted to put a couch in the middle part but it didn't look right. The counter sometimes throws off my design ideas because it cannot be moved and makes things look uneven in some places. My lovely assistant is wearing a new coordinate to make the new interior. I tried to go with an outfit that matched her hair colour, so I used some maroon colour items from Chorale. My own character is currently wearing the Purple Paradise outfit from last week's Shopdo update as I thought it looked so lovely that I just had to wear it!

Designer Item - Kirby One-Up Tee

Just a simple item for this weeks Designer Item. This was a design I created for an amiibo guide a little while back. It uses the Kirby One-Up design which is unlockable via a kirby amiibo. Thank heavens for all my friends owning all the amiibos so it was super easy to unlock all of these. The design is pretty simple, I just went with a basic grey colour tee with a pink kirby on the front. I'd totally wear this in real life if it existed as it looks pretty comfy.

You can download the Kirby One-Up Tee at the following details:

7-Day Style Savvy Challenge

Found a new challenge to do in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star! This one is called the 7-Day Style Savvy Challenge and was created by sportystylist on tumblr. You can find the original challenge post here! I thought I'd try this challenge out because it looked fun and had some themes I haven't tackled yet. So here we go!

Day 1: Favourite colours
Went with a pink outfit of course for this day as pink is my ultimate favourite colour. I went for a pastel kind of pink as I love pastel tones. Thought I'd use one of these poncho style outers as they are one of my top new items in the game. And it's the first time I've used these socks and they matched perfectly!

Day 2: Favourite style
Whilst I have a few favourite styles in Styling Star, I went with girly as that's always been my go-to style in the series. I went with a navy toned outfit as I tend to wear a lot of navy in real life. This outfit is a cute casual look for hanging out with friends on the weekend. The items in this outfit are ones I often use in the game series.

KARA Jumping ジャンピン - Single Review (CD+DVD Edition)

It's about time I started doing some reviews of some KARA CD's since I have a whole stack of them to get through. KARA was the first group I got into when I became interested in K-Pop and J-Pop many years ago. I've made it one of my goals to collect all their releases and my collection grew a little bit recently with some purchases off Zenmarket. So I thought today we'd look at KARA's Japanese single Jumping ジャンピン.

Front cover of ジャンピン by KARA

Jumping ジャンピン is the second Japanese single released by Korean pop group KARA and was released in 2010. The single was released in four editions: CD+DVD, CD+Photobook, CD Only First Press & CD Only. I own the CD+DVD copy and I got my copy used from Zenmarket so it did not include an OBI strip. My used copy of Jumping ジャンピン came with the following contents:
  • Jewel case
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Information leaflet
  • CD - 3 track album
  • DVD

Back cover of ジャンピン

The single design is pretty minimalist with the girls posing in black outfits on the front and back cover. Each edition of the single has a different cover and all of KARA's Japanese singles have similar designs. Inside the jewel case, there are two gorgeous discs and a lyrics booklet. The CD has a stunning magenta colour tone whilst the DVD has a violet tone. The case was in good condition for a used copy and the CD and DVD both played fine in a disc drive.

Shopdo Update

Three new outfits are available this week on my Shopdo! Went for another gothic/baby-doll outfit this week as last week's outfit was quite popular. I'm really into these darker tones of brown and maroon lately. The first outfit is a gothic inspired outfit with a baby-doll look with a matching bag. I called it Navy Moment because I was having an uninspired naming moment. The second outfit is a pastel coloured lively themed outfit. It's more of a casual outfit using one of the super cute new outers. I called it Pastel Dreams which I swear I've used before for a Shopdo outfit name. And last but not least is a feminine/girly mashup featuring beautiful lilac purple and black tones. I'm quite fond of this outfit and the socks matched perfectly! You can visit my Shopdo at ID 006271056 if you play New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).

Animal Crossing New Leaf - Looking Back Through Time Part 1

I thought it would be a fun idea to go back through my old photos from Animal Crossing New Leaf and talk about the adventures I've had in my town. I recently reached five years as mayor in the game so that means it's been five years since I started playing the game. I've taken a lot of photos over the years, so it's time to take a look back through them.

First off, here are some photos from the lovely light up night sky during the Aurora event. This event occurs during winter nights when the sky is clear. The tones in the Aurora look beautiful with the purple and pink tones of the flowers in my town and pink tones of my house.

Here are some of my insect hunting adventures. I'm quite skilled at catching tarantulas and scorpions, I think I have about ten at my house now. Once you work out to the stealth after them, it's super easy to catch them when you know they are near. I don't catch many nowadays as there's too many trees in my town and there isn't enough open space to see them crawling around.

I love when the tourneys are on in town and the villagers take part. I took this amusing photo a few years ago of three villagers all stalking the same bug. It just looks so silly!
