December Favourites

OMG the last week has been an absolute nightmare and thank heavens I have three days off. Everything is just pure chaos because of the pandemic outbreaks combined with the insanity of post Christmas sales. So glad it's finally over for now but who knows what next week will hold. At least the end of December is here which means it's time for my monthly favourites!

Random Stuff

Bit of assorted items now that I didn't really know where to fit in elsewhere. Picked up a selection of cute items during this month that I wanted to share. First was this adorable Winnie the Pooh Pop Vinyl that I couldn't help myself at getting. It's just too cute!!! I'm not a big Disney fan in the movie sense as I'm more into the theme park side. But I'm a sucker for Winnie the Pooh branded items and that's why I couldn't resist this one. There was also one where he has a pyjama outfit on and is reading a book. I'm trying to not tempt myself and get that one too :(

Got a bunch of new stickers this month after me saying that I'll cut back. I have a decent collection already but the Black Friday sales on Aliexpress and other stores hooked me in. Just took a photo of all the ones I got and I was pleased with all of these. Managed to get a good selection of different sizes and found some great small sized ones on Aliexpress as they can be hard to find. I can't get to Daiso anymore due to the pandemic so it was nice to find a new supplier of smaller stickers. The other items I got online where these amazing patches and how beautiful are they? I've been collecting patches for a while for a future project and knew these would be a great addition once I saw them. The Shiba with the fan is so adorable!

Gaming

During the course of December, I've been posting a Style Boutique challenge called the Basics Challenge! It is almost over and it was an enjoyable time. You can find all the outfits over on the challenge page here and the last outfit will be posted tomorrow. It's crazy how the challenge went one day over the number of days in December. It would've been perfect if it matched up!

The Basics Challenge - Day 31 Green Glam

Only two more outfits left and one of them is the bizarre blue-green colour toned one! Like blue-green is such a weird description and I feel aqua may have been a better choice. Strange how yellow-green and blue-green are different colours. I did find the perfect item for the blue-green outfit with this dress that features both green and blue! It was quite amusing when I discovered it and thought it matched the day's theme perfectly. This dress is very stylish and I choose it as it reminded me of the glam/flirty style. It's part of AZ-USA but used to be part of Miss Ribbon when the glam/flirty style was in the game. Very 2000's with that chunky belt and strapless style!

The Basics Challenge - Day 30 Classic Prep

Today marks the last style/image of the Basics Challenge which is the preppy style. Honestly one of my favourites in the game as it is just a classic and I'm a fan of the preppy style in real life. Brooke Bridge got a excellent range of new items in Styling Star especially in the top and outer section. I wanted to go for a cardigan look for my preppy outfit so I found this stylish printed cardigan. Totally something I'd wear in real life and I love how it pairs with the collared shirt and tie. There was even some trousers to match the cardigan colour tones and I finished off the look with some boots and glasses. Cannot have a preppy outfit without glasses!

The Basics Challenge - Day 29 Fluro Time

I have no idea how I even made this crazy looking outfit which is combination of girly and lively but looks more psychedelic. I really wanted to use this shirt from Marzipan Sky as it fit within the yellow-green colour scheme I was going for. Then the tricky part was finding items to match it and it was a task! I went through a lot of duds before coming across these shorts which I felt had a similar colour scheme the the top. Plus the hems and belts break out the body sections of the entire look. April Bonbon had a fun pair of sneakers that matched the top perfectly and that completed the outfit! I was happy with how this turned out as it was a struggle to find yellow-green items that looked good together.

The Basics Challenge - Day 28 Limited Silver

I always find it surprising that Styling Star doesn't have that many silver coloured items! I was shocked when I searched for them and it only showed a small number with most of them being dresses. Everything was also pretty limited to bold and chic styles with the latter having the most. So there wasn't much of a selection when choosing this outfit and I decided to get creative and make a combination of the two styles. It looks rather costume-like doesn't it? I actually kind of like it as it looks fun and party ready which brings together ideals of the bold and chic styles. If another Style Boutique game ever gets developed, it would be cool to see more silver toned items to give a broader range of outfit possibilities.

The Basics Challenge - Day 27 Casual Day

The Style Boutique series sure loves the colour green because it has three different variations of it! There is yellow-green, green and blue-green. Talk about confusing! Today's outfit the standard green and I went with a casual girly look. I wish the weather was warm enough here to wear an outfit like this. I've been super into tops like this one recently as they are quite cool on a hot day. My favourite part of this outfit is the shades of green in the top and skirt. I love how the bias edge of the top matches the skirt and the pockets on the skirt match the top. For the accessories I went for some basic pieces to give that casual feel.

The Basics Challenge - Day 26 Khaki Elegance

There is something interesting about the outfit for today's post. The theme was khaki and I ended up making this rather elegant ensemble. Funny enough this dress comes from AZ-USA yet it looks very feminine or chic. I was shocked when I picked it out and thought it was rather classy for the bold style. Even the shoes were from AZ-USA and they looked lovely too! For the necklace, I went with an item with a touch of gothic/baby-doll style to bring more focus to the feminine look. I am in love at how amazing this turned out and the background makes it look a million dollars! I would've never guessed I could've made this outfit from bold items or that the khaki colour could look this sophisticated.

The Basics Challenge - Day 25 Merry Christmas!

Day 25's outfit is rather predictable as it's a Christmas outfit because it's December 25th! This outfit is themed around the feminine style and I went with a red colour scheme to match the festive colour. I thought this top was rather festive as the pattern on the top reminded me of a present. Like doesn't it look like a ribbon on gift wrapping? This outfit would be a nice look for a Christmas party or a day out shopping for presents. Loving how this top pairs with this skirt as it has a lovely streamlined look.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my blog readers and thank you for all your support during 2021! Looking for next year with lots of new fun blog content on Marzipan Wonderland. The last week has been super stressful so it's nice to have a day off today and even over the weekend as it's the first Boxing Day I've had off in ages.

The Basics Challenge - Day 24 Case Of Chic

Doesn't the Enid Chen brand have some lovely clothing items? I love the colour tones of this shimmery dress, the lilac colour gorgeous. I honestly wouldn't pick Enid Chen for a brand to have such pastel toned items such as this but you can find some lovely hidden gems. I thought this dress looked great paired with some glitter style boots which are one of my favourites from the brand. Added a nice chunky necklace for the final touch and the result is one classy outfit!

The Basics Challenge - Day 23 Pink Rocker

Whenever I think of the Stage Dive brand, I often think of the outrageous pink toned items the brand has. They are some of my favourite items from the brand as they stand out and there are enough items that you can build an entire outfit. That's what I did for this look which is entirely pink rock items! The colour tones of each don't match perfectly but I think that matches the rock feel of breaking out. There were a few pink toned outers that I could've picked but I went with this pastel one as I wanted a casual feel to the outfit.

The Basics Challenge - Day 22 Pastel Ice Cream

Since I didn't end up using a lively style for my orange coloured outfit, I thought I would use it for the yellow themed one. I think the background is honestly the star of this outfit, just look at how bright it is! You can barely see my fun ice cream outfit! When Styling Star first came out, I was super into this dress from April Bonbon as it is just adorable and I love the pastel tones. The outfit ended up being a mix of styles as I used the dress and shoes from April Bonbon, the bag is from Chorale Perlude and the accessories are from Marzipan Sky and Marble Lily. It ended up like that as I wanted cute pastel toned items and April Bonbon can sometimes have too much colour to its items.

The Basics Challenge - Day 21 Bold Prints

The bold style is here for day 21 of the challenge! Crazy prints are one of the key features of the bold image so I went with a animal print dress in a vibrant green tone. This dress is one of my favourites from the brand as it has a nice cut and design. I used to have a similar dress to this back in the 2000's and it legit had the same print on it! I decided on using this dress when I saw these shoes and thought they would look amazing together. Paired it with some chunky jewellery and I didn't use any hair accessories as none suited the outfit in my opinion.

The Basics Challenge - Day 20 Orange Sophistication

Do people wear a lot of orange toned clothing items in real life? I feel that colour is one I don't encounter much and my wardrobe only has two orange items (one with bright orange lining and the other is a very light orange toned vintage dress). Luckily Style Boutique has enough orange coloured items to sort through and I had no trouble finding an outfit. Lively would've been a great choice but I decided to go with chic after finding this dress. Isn't the print rather unique and it has a beautiful colour tone scheme. The shoes matched perfectly to the dress and I added on a bunch of accessories to give the look that chic and sophisticated touch!

The Basics Challenge - Day 19 Stripes & Plaid

Man has this week been a frustratingly stressful week so I'm glad to be able to just sit down and make some outfits in Style Boutique. The theme for today's look is the colour brown in a more darker tone. I like how to game separates light and dark brown coloured items as they are quite different from each other. I could've gone with any theme for this look, but I decided on psychedelic as I wanted to try to use this striped shirt which features a few shades of brown. It turned out quite cute and very on brand for the psychedelic style. Love how this hairstyle looks with this beanie! It has so much volume and doesn't hide the bangs too much.

The Basics Challenge - Day 18 Baby-Doll Blues

I knew I'd have to create a baby-doll themed outfit for this challenge and it took so much strength to not make something I've done before or one of my go-to outfits for the style. I searched through the sections to find a clothing item I rarely used and guess what I found? This vest item which I must've always skipped over as I don't recall using much. I mean it has been a few years since the game came out, so maybe I've used it. Anyway I loved how it matched perfectly with this skirt as there was quite a few blue toned items but none matched in colour tone to the vest. I went with white for the inner and socks as I wanted to keep it simple and elegant. Went a bit overboard with the giant hair bow and chunky heels but I thought why not make it over the top. Marble Lily as a brand has some outrageous looking items so it felt like a perfect fit for a baby-doll outfit.

The Basics Challenge - Day 17 Obligatory Cute Outfit

The colour theme for the day is beige and I've gone for a mix-match style outfit! I picked out these dungarees first and picked everything else from there. At first I wanted to do a lively outfit but April Bonbon didn't have many items worthwhile in the beige colour tone. So I found this feminine style shirt looked pretty with the dungarees and that was my inspiration to add in more girly and feminine items. There isn't much to say about this outfit other than it's cute and comfortable!

The Basics Challenge - Day 16 Gorgeous Red

Do you have a least favourite colour of clothing? For me it would definitely be the colour red. I'm not a huge fan of the colour in general and it's one I avoid when purchasing clothing items. My house colour at school was red so I think it stems from that and the fact my pale skin doesn't suit bright red toned items. In the Style Boutique series, the colour red is something that is much more suitable and amazing. There are way too many items to pick from and it was difficult to narrow a style down for this outfit. I went with a feminine look as I wanted to wear a dress for the day. These gingham dresses are adorable and I love how the style is past the knees as I've become a fan of longer style dresses in recent months. For the accessories, I went with a simple watch and ribbon heels.
