One Item Challenge - Stage Dive

It has been forever since I last posted a Style Boutique post. This one took a while to get up as Blogger has moved to a new format and it took me ages to figure out how to upload photos. Still can't work it out properly just yet but I managed to get all the photos for this One Item Challenge up! This time it's a challenge for the brand Stage Dive and I decided to use one of my top items from the brand which is one of the new Big Check Jacket. Huge fan of this peplum style jacket and I've got a few in real life now! I tried to use an item that would look nice with other styles since the rock image is the opposite of some styles in the game such as girly or boho-chic.

First off here is the rock themed outfit featuring the  jacket with other Stage Dive branded items. Purple is one of the nicer colours the brand uses in my opinion and there a some great items that match it perfectly. I went with one of the stage themed photo locations for the photoshoot as it's the ideal spot for the Stage Dive brand!

There are a few favourites from this One Item Challenge and my top picks would be gothic, sporty and basic. I quite liked the gothic outfit as it looked rather well put together and the jacket matches well with gothic themed items. Haven't used this skirt or inner for age (or even ever!) so it was nice to try something new and I didn't want to do the pannier skirt look as I've done that enough with gothic outfits. The sporty and basic outfits were a favourite as I liked how simple they looked and the shoes turned out super cute. The jacket brings a pop of pattern to the outfit and you can't go wrong with a bit of purple in an outfit. Honorable mention to the craziness of the psychedelic outfit! I love it and it's just all over the place but still stylish.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Play Journal - Starting From The Beginning

Unless you've been living under a rock, you'd be well aware that Animal Crossing New Horizons came out in March and it has been super popular. I picked it up day 1 and have been playing the game a fair bit since launch. I've amassed quite a collection of screenshots from my adventures in game so I thought I'd share them all in a new play journal series. I've kept them in the order I've taken them so there you can notice the growth in the island development. To start off the play journal, here's a snap of my character arriving on the island only to be greeted by the Nooklings. Honestly I like these guys over Tom Nook, especially Tommy who I always make sure to talk to at the shop. Plus they looked super cute early on in the game with their little flags!

Finally got a fruit that wasn't apples as my native fruit! I've always had apples in previous games so it was great to get cherries as my native fruit! I do have an orchard set up now with all the different types but I really miss lemons as I loved how they looked on the trees and was my favourite tree to plant in the town besides the cedar.

My starter villagers are Renee and Sparro who still live in my town today. Renee seemed to be a popular starter villager as a number of people I know had her as well. Sparro is pretty cool and is always happy to talk. He reminds me of Bill who I loved in New Leaf and is one of the best Jock villagers. The second picture is from when I donated the Sea Bass to Blathers and completly ignored his request to learn fascinating facts about the sea bass. Like the only thing you need to know about the sea bass is that there is a billion of them. Seriously why is there no Nook Miles achievement for how many sea bass you catch?

The new camera feature is pretty cool in the game and I like how you can pan the camera to take photos from different angles. Here's my character chilling on a weedy area of my island and I quite like how the weeds look in the new game. Much nicer than previous games and it's easier to get the weed achievement now. I'm actually not far off getting the top one and you do get quite a few weeds each day to pick up for the achievement.

Colour Outfits Collection - Brown

Thought it was about time for another Colour Outfits Collection post after a brief hiatus. Apologies for the delay in posting new content, my work didn't close for the COVID-19 lockdown and we were busier than ever. So I didn't have much time to write up new posts and check on the blog. But I'm back now and will try to work through the backlog of posts I had planned starting with the collection of brown toned themed outfits in Styling Star!

Style Boutique has always had a great selection of brown toned items as the colour is pretty neutral and suits all style types in the game. I tend to use it a lot more in girly or preppy outfits but other styles like bold and chic have some excellent brown toned items as well. My top outfits for this set would be chic, boho, gothic and sporty. I picked chic as I've always loved this geometric outer since Fashion Forward and this was the perfect time to use it! The gothic outfit was a favourite as it's a bit different from the usual dress or skirt looks I usually do with that style. Not the biggest fan of the boho-chic style in general, but this brown and purple toned outfit came together really well. I quite like these outer jackets from Soy and they match perfectly with these boots. Lastly I picked sporty as it looked cute and simple.

Random CD Haul

Something new on the blog today as I thought I would post a random CD haul of all the ones I've been picking up randomly over the last few months. Only two Japanese albums in this haul and the rest are western artists. I found all these albums at a few different stores which I'll mention in more detail later on. Here is the random CD haul for the first part of the year!

First off is an album that is very special to me as I came across it by luck. Found it in a selection of albums at JB Hi-Fi on clearance and I was so excited as I didn't think a copy could be found at JB's anymore! It is Kyary Pamyu Pamyu's KKP Best from a few years back and contains all her best hits. The album is the standard regular edition and comes with a cardboard OBI strip which I've never seen before.

Next up is a bunch of albums I found at Op-Shop stores which are what we call thrift or charity shops here in Australia. I love going through the CD's and DVD's at Op-Shops to find treasures or just see what everyone has been donating. You can always notice a trend by seeing what artists have to most donated or similar artists you see at different shops. In my recent visits, the trend has been One Direction and Enya CD's. Like I saw stacks of One Direction at four different Op-Shops! Anyway onto what I brought. First is Bardot's second album Play It Like That which was a good find! Bardot was a pop group created from a TV show called Popstars in the early 2000's and had the hit song Poison which is one of my faves. Would love to find their first album one day as well but I got this one as it has the songs I Need Somebody and ASAP which are bops. Picked up some Britney Spear's releases that I didn't have because I love a bit of Britney. Had a good laugh at the BIG W price tag still stuck to the Circus CD and makes me remember when I used to go to BIG W back in the day to buy all my So Fresh CDs each season. The CD+DVD edition of the Spice Girl's Greatest Hits was another find and I only picked this up for the DVD really which has the music videos. Still have my original SPICE and SPICEWORLD albums from when they came out and still listen to them now. Lastly was a spectacular find which is The Hives' Your New Favourite Band album. Shocked to see this as you rarely see The Hives things anywhere especially an older one like that. The Opshop where I found this had a lot of early 2000's punk stuff so it was probably from the person that donated all of those.

Colour Outfits Collection - Beige

I would have to say that this beige colour outfits collection was incredibly easy to put together and this particular colour tone has a large selection of items in the game. It was hard to narrow down items for some of the larger styles such as girly and feminine. I feel like beige isn't a colour I wear a lot of in real life as it's hard to find nice items in the colour tone and it can get dirty easily compared to darker tones.

My top outfits for this colour tone would be Purple Moon, girly and feminine. I absolutely love the feminine outfit as it looks so elegant and gives a nice silhouette. The feminine hairstyle my character has also matches the feel of the outfit perfectly. The girly outfit is a fave as it reminds me of the outfits I used to make back in Fashion Forward. Always went for this skirt and down jacket combo! The Purple Moon look I just thought was super cute and would work well as a gothic or baby-doll look as well.

Style Boutique 2 Room Address Update: Dog Room

For this months Caprice Chalet room, I decided to go with something simple and cute. I made this dog themed room a while ago for a guide and still had it in my room collection. So I thought it would be a fun room for this month! The design is very similar to the loft/hallway designs I sometimes do for rooms and I just put down a bunch of dog miniatures to theme the room. These miniatures are so adorable! They remind me of Little Friends on the Nintendo Switch which I just brought and it's super cute! It's basically Nintendogs on the switch and you can pet all the doggos!!! You can find this adorable room at room address 180-239-9851 in New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward.

Shopdo Update - March 2020

Finally got the Shopdo Update up for March, I had just completely forgotten about it until recently as I didn't realise it was March. So I'm sorry for the late upload of the new outfits :( I've stuck with the same interior as last month as I'm not really feeling inspired to make a new one nor have any ideas for a new layout. I decided to go with colour themed outfits this month for something different. First up is a beige themed outfit as hype for the Colour Collection post I will be posting soon featuring that very colour. I quite like the beige toned items in Style Boutique and I went for a feminine/chic look for this outfit. I tried to use some items I rarely use such as these pants and inner. Next up is a girly look because I'm boring haha. Nah I really like making girly outfits in the game and there is just so many items under that theme that it would take ages to try them all out! Last look is another feminine inspired look and I tried to go for a coffee brown tone for this one. I always use these dresses from Chorale as they are well designed and look great in all the colours. You can find all these outfits at Shopdo ID 0006271056 in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star (EUR/AUS Region).
