AKB48 ここにいたこと Koko ni Ita Koto - Album Review (Theatre Edition)

Big day today with the first AKB48 review on Marzipan Wonderland! Now I don't have a massive AKB48 collection however I do have a number of items to showcase. First off we shall look at the theatre edition of their album ここにいたこと Koko ni Ita Koto.

ここにいたこと Koko ni Ita Koto is the first original studio album from the Japanese idol group AKB48. It was released on June 8th 2011 and came in three editions: Limited Edition CD+DVD, Regular Edition CD+DVD and Theatre Edition CD Only. I picked up the theatre edition as it was a good price but I'd love to get the limited edition one as you get a 100-page photobook which I bet looks gorgeous. The theatre edition is super cute with the Kami 7 featured on the front and back covers. My copy of ここにいたこと Koko ni Ita Koto came with the following contents:

• CD - 16 track album
• Jewel case
• OBI
• Lyrics booklet
• 14 alternative covers featuring the Senbatsu members

Here are the alternative covers you get with the Theatre Edition where the members are wearing uniform outfits. The covers are double sided so bad luck if two members you like are on the same card. The bottom photo showcases my top AKB48 members and my oshimen is Minegishi Minami! She is too perfect and her Instagram is so fun to follow. Funny how three of my favourite members are just the No Sleeves group!

The track listing of ここにいたこと Koko ni Ita Koto is the same on all three editions and there are no exclusive tracks. Seems like AKB48 hadn't started doing that on their albums just yet. The album features 11 new songs, 4 singles and 1 stage song. This track listing is from the ever helpful Stage48 wiki and that is a great site for 48Group news which can be hard to find outside of Japan. My favourite song from this album would be ポニーテールとシュシュ Ponytail to Shushu which is one of my top AKB48 songs.

Since the album is from 2011, it is of course out of print however being AKB48 and released during their golden era, you can easily get second hand copies. Be careful to read listings as sellers will list ex-rental or junk discs on Yahoo Auctions however you can usually tell what these are as the listing will state it or the listing will be missing parts.
