Shopdo Update

As mentioned in the last Shopdo Update, I am now posting my weekly update on Sundays now. It works much easier with my schedule and gives me time to post the update on time rather than almost forgetting it on a Monday night. I've still got the psychedelic interior as I just haven't bothered changing it yet but I've had fun making the outfits for it. The first outfit for this week is a rock outfit since I haven't had one of those for a long time. Kinda a basic looking thing but fits with the psychedelic theme. The second outfit is a psychedelic look of course featuring my favourite outer from Retrobeat. Went with a green and blue scheme this time which is kinda boring compared to the brighter colours. Lastly is a outfit that was featured in one of my challenges way back and I recently remembered from my Scrapbook. Still one of the best outfits I've made in Styling Star. New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star - Outfit Sets

Lately I've been discovering that a number of items in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star are part of a set and match with other items from the same brand. I decided to investigate this further and went searching through the different brands for items that were part of a set. I found quite a few and took some photos of them. My favourite outfit sets would have to be the check shorts and outer from Marzipan Sky, the camisole and shorts set from Soy, and the flower print ensemble from AZ-USA. I'm also quite fond of the black check set from Chorale as it reminds me of the bags you would get from a department store called David Jones. Their logo used to look like this exact print years ago, I don't remember what the bags look like now as the store is quite expensive to shop at. All these sets are available in different colours as well and I decided to only use one set from Marble Lily and Raven Candle as those brands have heaps of sets which most players would be aware of.

Shopdo Update & Announcement

Quick Shopdo update for this week and I've got three fun outfits available at my boutique. The first is a bright blue baby-doll look. This one was a weird one as I mainly wanted to use this inner and found a bright coloured skirt to match. The second outfit is a simple girly look featuring one of those heart bolero things I never use. I swear this is like the first time I've used one in forever. Lastly is a psychedelic look to match the boutique interior. Went with a dark pink toned outfit as I love this colour in the game. Now for an announcement regarding my Shopdo! From next week I'll be switching the updates from Monday to Sunday. Originally when I started doing the weekly updates, I didn't work Mondays but my work schedule changed last year and I've been having trouble trying to upload on Mondays as I'm busy from work. So the updates will now take place on Sundays or occasionally Saturdays if my Sundays are booked up. A big thank you to everyone who follows my Shodpo updates and hopefully you'll keep visiting with the new schedule!

One Item Challenge - Purple Moon

Time for another One Item Challenge and I've gone with Purple Moon this time round. I went with a pretty basic item from the brand as I wanted something verstitle to work with. I used the WARS T-Shirt which is an item you get from Alina during the main story line. It's just a basic black tee with the WARS logo on it. I thought it would work well with different styles and colours. Sporty, feminine and psychedelic would be my top outfits from this challenge. I was surprised that the feminine otufit turned out so nicely considering the T-shirt isn't what you'd usually find under the style. Sporty looks cool as usual and I loved the colour combinations and prints in the psychedelic outfit.

Shopdo Update

This week for Shopdo I've decided to add in some new styles to my psychedelic themed boutique. Usually I've been doing three psychedelic themed outfits but this week I've thrown in lively and girly outfits as well. The first outfit is Icecream Sundae which belongs to the lively theme. Went for a pastel look for this one and it's a bit more casual than the over the top psychedelic looks. The second outfit is a crazy outfit from Retrobeat of course. I love these skirts from the brand and wish I had them in real life! The final outfit is a cute girly themed one to mix it up a bit. These are my favourite pants from Marzipan Sky and they work great with this outer. Style Boutique Series - Outfit Comparisons

Since I have a number of the Style Boutique games now, I thought I'd go through some of them and make up the same outfit in each game. For this post, I used New Style Boutique, New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward and New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star. Boy the European/Australian names of the game are so boring and confusing with the numbers. I tried to choose outfits where I knew the items would be in all three games and from different styles. So let's take a look at how clothing items have evolved over the course of the series!

First off is a girly outfit which is a favourite of mine. I used to wear this all the time when I had New Style Boutique years ago and a fair bit in Fashion Forward as well. The items have stayed the same throughout the three games and still look stylish as ever.

Next is a lively outfit which I totally loved when I made it in New Style Boutique but then soon discovered that the outer was no longer available! I looked everywhere for it and checked all the brands but couldn't located it. Such a shame as it's super adorable and works great with these overalls. When creating lively themed outfits, I always tend to go towards bright and pastel colours rather than the darker tones that can be found at April Bonbon. How funny is it that I almost got the first pose exactly the same. It's a shame you can't choose your poses in New Style Boutique to match them all up.

Mega Zenmarket Haul!

So I brought a few things off Zenmarket recently. Well more than a few actually. I swear this site will drown me in CD's eventually. Managed to tick a large number of releases off my wishlist with this order. All these items came from Yahoo Auctions, Bookoff and Tower Records. Some are brand new and others are used. Here's all the CD's I brought in this order which boy was an effort to ship here. Never going to ship this many CD's ever again as the shipping wasn't the cheapest thing. It always reminds me of that joke from the Australia episode of the Simpsons where the guy goes '900 Hundred dollary doos?!?' That's my thought whenever I see shipping costs to Australia haha. There was so many CD's I had trouble trying to get them all into frame. But I did save a lot of money buying these CD's as some were quite rare and expensive when they first came out. I'll list all the titles in later paragraphs because the list is quite long.

First off is the albums from KARA who I'm trying to complete my collection of. These are all new additions to my collection apart from The First Bloooooming which I already own. Finally got my hands on the Type B of Fantastic Girls which was something I was after last year. And got a copy of the Japan Tour Special Edition of Super Girl which I didn't have! It doesn't have a super amount of new content compared to the first editions of the album but the cover is pink! Here's the list of the KARA albums:

I've always loved the single designs of KARA's Japanese singles and I quite like how they are all standard jewel case releases so I can store them all together. Electric Boy would have to be my favourite design out of the bunch. A few doubles here with the singles which I'll just sell for cheap. I already got three of these last year off Zenmarket. A nice surprised was from the seller I brought the next set from included Ji Young's version of French Kiss which I wasn't expecting. I was over the moon to see if included with the set as I was planning on collecting it and it was brand new too. Here's the list of the KARA singles:

Shopdo Update

Pretty simple week this week with the Shopdo Update. The first two outfits are ones I had saved in my Scrapbook in the game and are favourites of mine. The Brown Stripe one is from my Autumn Lookbook I did ages ago and remains one of the best psychedelic outfits I've ever created. The second is some crazy looking design called Pattern Overload. Don't recall if this was from a previous challenge or anything, I think I had it saved as it's one of the few crazy looking designs that worked out. The last outfit is a psychedelic look featuring lots of colours and plenty of hot pink which is a favourite of mine. Style Boutique 2 Room Address Update: Sweet N Sour

A bit late in the month, but here's the new Caprice Chalet room for March! I've decided to go with a candy shop this month using this old design I had saved in my game. It's super colourful and delicious!

This room isn't overally complicated, I mainly wanted to test out building a candy store. Love all the bright colours and multicoloured brick part around the room. Also one of the few times I've actually used this counter, I don't use it often as it reminds me of a bathroom with the tiled front. Also can we bring back rugs and carpets in Styling Star? They bring a room together nicely and work great under items.

Style Boutique 2 Play Journal - Visiting Over 190 Caprice Chalet Rooms!

A while ago, I decided it would be fun to go back to Style Boutique 2 and visit every single Caprice Chalet room listed in the Rooms Database on my Style Boutique 2 Blog. The database has nearly 200 rooms listed and I visited them all! You can find the entire list here at my Style Boutique 2 blog and all the rooms listed are currently available for download. There was only three I had to remove from the list as the room was no longer up for download. All the rooms are in order according to the list so you can find the ones you like to visit from it. Quite a lot of these rooms are Japanese players as I sourced a lot of codes off Japanese websites. The pastel themed boutiques would be my favourites from the list and there's also a few cute living/kitchen style rooms as well. Enjoy looking at all these wonderful designs!

Shopdo Update - Psychedelic Boutique

Finally changed over the boutique interior on my Shopdo and the new theme is psychedelic! I was inspired by a room I had for download in Style Boutique once called PopPop Boutique. I've posted about it before and you can check out the room design here! The three outfits for this week all fall under the psychedelic theme and I tried to go for some crazy quirky ensembles. The first one uses my favourite skirt from the Retrobeat brand and I found it matches perfectly with one of the toothbrush inners. I've never really used them before so it was fun to finally try one out. The second outfit is a crazy one which uses that wolf t-shirt dress thing from Retrobeat. I put some polka dot tights with it and it matched pretty well colour wise. The last outfit was only made because I wanted to use one of the bread outers. It looks hilarious! I'm so happy the pants worked out with the outfit as I didn't really know what bottoms to use with the outer. I present to you the psychedelic look of my boutique and I actually maxed out the amount of items you could place down. I would've loved to have used more but the game wouldn't let me. I wanted some more pieces on the walls and some more circle tables in the centre of the room. I hate the item limit, it's so boring and dull.

One Item Challenge - AZ-USA

Readers to my blog will recognise the item I am using in this One Item Challenge. That's right, it's my favourite new skirt to the AZ-USA brand! I fell in love with this skirt the moment I found it in the game. I'm always using it in glam/flirty style outfits and love that it comes in different colour tones.

This challenge will begin with the bold outfit of course. Just a classic bold look for the challenge featuring some of my top items from AZ-USA such as the floral print inner and vibrant purple jacket. I decided to do my characters hair like Callie's from Fashion Forward as she is the true queen of the bold style.

Onto the rest of the outfits for the challenge. I think about half turned out great and the other half alright. The boldness of the skirt (especially the metallic tone) doesn't match soft styles like baby-doll and feminine. My favourites from this challenge would be basic and psychedelic. I quite like the basic outfit because I think the bold image of the skirt brings a new feel to the basic look of the other items. Psychedelic is another great outfit because it's so over the top and exploding with colours.
