Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book - Marble Lily

We have finally reached the time when I review the Marble Lily pages of the Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book! I feel like I should've done this brand ages ago as it seems to be one the most popular ones in the game series. I personally quite like Marble Lily for the gorgeous dresses and cute shirts that match well with other styles in the game. The brand has the same name in Japanese and I've always felt it reminds me of the Lolita brand Angelic Pretty. Japanese Lolita culture is quite fascinating and the outfits are beautiful. So I can see how this brand is influenced by that fashion style.

The main style of the Marble Lily brand is the Baby-Doll style of course which as I mentioned is very similar to the Lolita fashion style in real life. It also features items that fit within other styles such as lively, girly, gothic, feminine and preppy.  In New Style Boutique 2: Fashion Forward, Marble Lily become home to a few items from the defunct Miss Ribbon brand. These are the faux fur coat with bow, bell sleeve bolero, straw bag with rose, heart knee sock and lacy sandals with bow. These fit quite nicely within the brand and I've used these in a number of outfits over the years. The main draw card of the brand is the wide range of dresses as the brand has an amazing selection of them in a range of colours, patterns and prints. I made a guide detailing all the Marble Lily dresses in Fashion Forward and you can check that one out here! Do you have a favourite item from the brand? I personally love the shirts as they fit well under a range of items and peter pan collars are one of my favourite styles.

One Year Challenge Week 8: Stars

You've got stars in your eyes with this weeks theme! I've gone with another shape idea by choosing the star motif. Another motif that has quite a large number of items in the game and I felt like it can be found in certain brands over others. Stars feels like a more cool image with brands such as AZ-USA or Stage Dive and not as common for the more feminine images. That's why I went three looks from the rock, lively and bold styles. Here is a rocking look featuring some items from Stage Dive and I really like it! I was originally planning to go with tall socks or boots but then I discovered the leggings. OMG they look so good with this outfit and the studs on the side are the best part. The second outfit is a lively look because why not! These giant jackets are just too adorable to not use and are just covered in star prints! The final look is a cute bold outfit with a star printed inner. Feels quite glam/flirty style to me and it makes my character look way taller than the other pictures.

Apink PINK♥DOLL - Album Review (Limited Edition C Bo Mi Ver.)

When I look at my Japanese CD collection, I have actually been quite lucky to acquire some member plate versions. I have the full mu-mo set of AFTERSCHOOL's Japanese single Heaven and some T-ara member plates from their singles. But one of the most random member versions I have is this PINK♥DOLL album from Apink. I was placing a large order on Yahoo Auctions to have shipped over to me and thought why not pick up a cheap album. So I ended up getting this one as it was super cheap and I wanted it to go along with my PINK SEASON album. There isn't many photos for this review as the album doesn't have too many aspects to photograph.

PINK♥DOLL is the second Japanese album from Korean girl group Apink. It was released on the 21st December 2016 and came in nine versions. Limited Edition A came with the CD and a 2017 Apink themed diary and Limited Edition B came with the CD and a DVD. There are six types of Limited Edition C with each member getting their own member plate and then a Regular CD Only edition to finish the set off. My album is the Limited Edition C with Bo Mi's member plate and it came with the following contents:

  • CD - 12 track album
  • Jewel Case
  • Lyrics Booklet
  • OBI

Being a member plate version, the design of Limited Edition C is quite simple. There is a lovely front cover with the girls in pretty outfits and if you flip the album over, there is no back cover. This is usual for member versions as it allows you to see the CD instead. It reminds me a lot of CD singles from back in the day that didn't have back covers as the CD would face you instead. Unlike singles that came in a slim CD case, this album is in the standard jewel case size. I don't have many member versions to compare this to but overall I think it is very nice and I like the soft tones of the CD design.

One Year Challenge Week 7: Flowery

Honestly there was like a billion outfits I could've made for the flowery theme as Styling Star is full of items with flowers printed on them. It was quite difficult to narrow down three final outfits and I like how they turned out. The first is one of my new favourites as I love the colour palette and how it perfectly shows off the girly style. Need to add this one to the scrapbook! The second outfit is a baby-doll outfit with a dress I haven't used much in the game. I think I was always turned off by the colours but nowadays I'm more interested in using colours tones like these. The blue and green look gorgeous together and it matches well with the flower fields background. Lastly I went with a floral print yukata as I thought it would make a elegant outfit and it has been forever since I used a yukata in a challenge. For the photoshoot, I just had to use the flower fields of course because it was the only location I could use for the flowery theme.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Play Journal - Adventures On Marzipan

Large group of Animal Crossing New Horizons screenshots coming your way! These are from February 2021 up until October 2021. I wasn't playing the game much in 2021 so I didn't have many screenshots from my adventures. Some months didn't even have any! Managed to group together a fair amount for this play journal. Starting off with my greatest achievement: catching a scorpion! This is actual quite silly now as I have stacks of these creatures in storage.

Looks like it was Bill's birthday in the game! He is one of my all time favourite villagers and was happy to attend his party. Doesn't Hamphrey look adorable there with this little glasses? Also finally learnt the signpost DIY and this was one of the main ones I wanted! Now I can put them all over my island! After this, I've included some snaps of my character walking around the island and being dramatic. The in-game emotions/poses are quite amusing and I wish you could save more to use. I reckon I haven't used most of them as I always forget to change my set ones.

One Year Challenge Week 6: Sporty

Of course you all knew that the sporty theme was going to make an appearance in this challenge! I always do this removed style in my challenges and I love the outfits I came up with this time. I put together three looks which are suitable for all seasons of the year with the first one being a winter outfit. The puffy jacket is perfect for those windy and rainy days. The second is more of a autumn outfit for when its still a bit chilling out there but you are still looking to do some outdoor exercise. The last outfit is perfect for summer and hitting the baseball pitch! I was thinking that because the overalls have a baseball print on them. I've never actually played baseball before as my school only did softball. I did play on the softball team all through junior school and we would play it in middle/senior school in PE lessons or for house sport. I do know of some other schools in my city that did have baseball as an actual subject!

MODEL debut2 #nicola Play Journal - Too Cute Poses & Outfits

In my previous play journal for MODEL debut2 #nicola, I started my career off as a model and took a photo for my model portfolio. Today it is time to take part in my first advertisement! I've been enjoying this game way too much since I started playing. So I was rather excited to see how the advert part worked for the photoshoots. To start off, here is the map layout for the game and as you can see not much is available at the start of the game. There is the Nicola company building and you can also access your apartment.

The game sent me to the Nicola headquarters to meet with Chihiro who is the editor-in-chief of the editorial department. She asked me to join the magazine for some work from now on and Shiori was pleased with the news. Both of these characters kind of remind me of Evie from the Style Boutique series. There is a note in the bottom right hand corner that informs the player that photos can be taken with the Y button. I've just been taking them with the screen capture button on the switch which works basically the same.

From this location which is called the Nicola editing department, you can accept various jobs for the Nicola company. The jobs have different themes with these one styling around aspects such as spring time or what my google translate app calls 'glitter bag girl coordination'. I'm interpreting that as a bold inspired look I guess. I selected the one of the jobs which was for a spring time outfit featuring certain clothing items. It required a skirt and top from Hanagara. I'm still 100% new to this so I'm still figuring out what all of this means. It is super fun even though challenging as the search feature is way different to the one I'm used to in Style Boutique. A new tutorial screen appears to instruct on how to use the clothing search feature to find suitable items. I'm slowing getting used to it and have managed to find most themes I'm after.

One Year Challenge Week 5: Pictures

The theme of pictures is such an easy one as there are plenty of items in teh game with a picture of them! Quite vague if you were to describe it to someone, like 'I would like a shirt with a picture on it but I'm not going to explain what type of picture I want but you should know what type I want'. You can tell from that sentence that I've been in customer service way too long. Anyway since pictures was an easy theme, I just had to pick styles for the outfits. I thought Baby-Doll and psychedelic were perfect brands for the pictures theme as they have stacks of items with pictures. Decided to go a little crazy for the psychedelic look by combining the bread outer with the dinosaur skirt. Crazy! Baby-Doll was a pretty lolita inspired coordinate of course and for other outfit I went with the Kirby print tee from the amiibo. I've used this t-shirt in a number of outfits on the blog and it is one of the better amiibo items.

August Favourites

Winter is finally over even though the first day of Spring here was absolutely freezing! It was 7 degrees at my house this morning when I left for work and I was rugged up when I got there too. So over this cold weather and hopefully it will warm up soon with some lovely spring weather. Onto the monthly favourites now!

Gaming

I started a new challenge in New Style Boutique 3: Styling Star this month called the One Year Challenge! I've posted a few outfits already and you can check out the first theme which is hearts here. This challenge looks like it will be a fun one and definitely a challenge to post outfits every week for a year. The current schedule for the challenge posts is on Saturdays (Australian time) and I will make up a page for the challenge soon.

The other gaming news for the blog is that I have started playing MODEL debut2 #nicola on the Nintendo Switch. It is a fashion simulation game from Japan and I love it to death! It is super cute and I throughly enjoy the editing part of the game where you can design your advertisement. I've only posted one play journal so far for the game but I have another one lined up for early September. How gorgeous does my character look in the game? I haven't unlocked different hair colours or styles yet but I cannot wait to change it to something else fun.

Stationery

Headed to the local bookstore in town this month armed with some gift vouchers! I get them through training modules at work and it's a fun reward to pick out a new book. I actually ended up using the vouchers for this adorable Pusheen re-usuable tote bag and sticker set. I'm crazy at Pusheen branded merch and I've used the bag quite a lot. It's great for throwing into a small bag to take with me whilst I go shopping. The stickers are lovely as I didn't have any of Pusheen in my collection yet and they are good quality. The other item I got from Dymocks was this Standard Issue planner notebook which is more of a notebook than a planner. I think it uses the term planner as there are dates available on the pages. The cover is hard and the pages lie open flat when you open the notebook. A very nice stylish notebook which I'm looking forward to using once I finish off one of my journal notebooks.
