Large group of Animal Crossing New Horizons screenshots coming your way! These are from February 2021 up until October 2021. I wasn't playing the game much in 2021 so I didn't have many screenshots from my adventures. Some months didn't even have any! Managed to group together a fair amount for this play journal. Starting off with my greatest achievement: catching a scorpion! This is actual quite silly now as I have stacks of these creatures in storage.
Looks like it was Bill's birthday in the game! He is one of my all time favourite villagers and was happy to attend his party. Doesn't Hamphrey look adorable there with this little glasses? Also finally learnt the signpost DIY and this was one of the main ones I wanted! Now I can put them all over my island! After this, I've included some snaps of my character walking around the island and being dramatic. The in-game emotions/poses are quite amusing and I wish you could save more to use. I reckon I haven't used most of them as I always forget to change my set ones.
Quick photo for Bunny Day so I can acknowledge it and move on. Not a big fan of this event and I'll be surprised if most people are since it is quite annoying in New Horizons. Pudge does not super cute in his Bunny Day outfit and I couldn't help taking a photo. That unpaved part of the footpath in the background is annoying me though. Gotta love when you accidently kick off the path pattern whilst trying to do something else.
Please enjoy this lovely photo of me not knowing how to use the photo studio on Harv's Island. Honestly I never use this feature and this was probably the first time I went there. Must've just scanned in my new Sanrio amiibo cards and not known what to do after that. It is just a in-game feature I have little interest in and never visited there. Only since they added the little campsite shops area in that update have I been visiting his island. And that is only to check on Redd's artworks and what Kick's has on offer. Also asked Rod to move onto my island! I had him in New Leaf before kicking him out of town for him to only show up on my shop street and annoy me forever. He used to say the worst things about my character and would never leave! So I thought it would be funny to get his amiibo card and move him onto my island.
Been totally obsessed with the Pompompurin outfit from the Sanrio amiibo cards. I will never stop wearing this!!!! The design is too cute and pairs well with other items I love in the game. Just too perfect! Next we have Marina fishing in the lovely flower garden. OMG this is too adorable! She matches well with the coloured flowers I put there. Sadly I've decided to let Bill move off the island and switch him out for Rod. I do love Bill but I wanted to make friends with more villagers and he was the one I was fine with getting rid of. I have his amiibo card so not too much of a problem to add him back in.
Wendy asked to move as well which was sad as I love my sheep villagers :( I said yes as I wanted to see more villagers in the game and I needed to move out some favourites in order to do that. 10 houses is just not enough! Some rando from a friend's town moved to mine and Midge is kinda cute. Might keep her a little while and swap her out for someone else later one. Bonus shot of Frita being dramatic about her flower garden. I was letting the flowers grow out of control up there and she isn't happy about it. Wouldn't it be interesting if villagers would landscape around there own homes? I remember getting annoyed in previous games when I would see villagers place down flowers in my perfectly set up areas. Like stop that! It doesn't match the design scheme I've got going!
Ended up doing the wedding event this year and actually made use of Harv's photo studio. It was fun and I liked seeing all the pretty items. I'm not one of decorating or moving objects in Animal Crossing. I actually haven't even decorated my house and the game has been out forever. The items are pretty and I brought quite a lot of them. But we all know they are just gonna sit in storage and never get used. Here are the rooms I designed for the happy couple so please enjoy my terrible design skills that I literally did as quick as possible.
Oh Frita you are too amazing in giving me this Confident Reaction. Seeing that it is snowing slightly in this screenshot, she has one her winter outfit. It would've looked so much cute if she had the scarf that sheep villagers used to wear. There totally should be an option for sheep to wear either the shirts or scarfs. I decided to move Marina off the island and move in Etoile from the Sanrio amiibo. I just had to have her because she is a sheep AND has a gorgeous pastel colour scheme. Her and Frita seem to be fans of my Pompompurin outfit as they both commented on it.
We are now up to the October screenshots now and that is my birthday month so I've got a few birthday screenshots to share. Marshal threw me a birthday party and my best friends Pudge and Frita attended. I couldn't think of anyone else to share the day with. There was a small turnout to the K.K. Slider concert that night and I will follow up with everyone who didn't attend haha.
I think Marshal hasn't caught on to my repeat outfit saga and thinks I look different. Dude I've been wearing this outfit since like the start of the year. Surprised he didn't comment that it was all I wear as sometimes villagers will do that. Took a lovely photo of Hamphrey's house on the island and I quite like the landscaping I did in this area. These rock DIY items fit perfectly with the vibe of his house exterior and I planted black coloured flowers to match. The stairs next to it lead up to the fairy garden by my house.
This conversation with Etoile got a little too deep for me as I can feel like this in real life. Animal Crossing is a fun game and all but it can never replace real life friendships which can be tough to maintain in today's world. I find getting older you no longer have common interests with old friends and your social circle gets smaller and smaller. I have been fortunate enough to build a great friendship group with my workmates and sometimes it feels like they are like villagers in real life that I get to see nearly every day.
Congratulations to Hamphrey who was the only villager to attend the K.K. Slider concert tonight! We had a small intimate set with the islands greatest performer. Sorry to all the peppy villagers but you could never. Later on, we came across a strange pelican washed up on the beach. Hamphrey and I are like some sort of mystery solving duo with all our adventures! Next photo is of Pudge bragging about his sleeps schedule that I wished I had. Wouldn't that be amazing if you could fall asleep that easy? It takes me forever to fall asleep and it has only get slightly better in recent years since I started reading before bed.
Bonbon has moved onto Marzipan and I cannot remember who on earth she replaced. Was it Rod? I felt like he had his house where Bonbon has it now. That is how I remember what villagers moving around, by recalling whose house they are have replaced. Bonbon might be fun to have on the island and the bunny villagers are quite cute. Next we have a snapshot of me doing some fishing before chatting to Rosie about her popstar adventures. These peppy villagers need to do more for their careers. Caught Frita hanging around the mini campsite singing along to the cassette tape deck. I feel she always hangs around her and it seems to be her favourite spot to listen to music.
Bonbon does have a pretty house and I adore this shade of yellow on the furniture series. I've just been really into pastel tones this year and this cute series in the game is too perfect. Ran into Frita outside Able Sisters and she informed me of how bored she is. Wish I had spare time to be bored like that as there is always something to do for like 90% of my week. I was amused that she commented about having an arcade on the island as I used to work in that industry for a long time in real life. Trust me Frita, you won't be bored doing a job like that. At least Pudge was happy to see me and had also seen me in his dreams. Hmm I wonder what Pudge dreams about? Probably food and being lazy. Bonus photo of Bonbon just chilling down at the beach. I don't really do decorating on my beach areas as I like to keep them random to remind me of the beach in New Leaf. Just a bunch of poorly placed palm trees and random stuff dropped.
Onto the last set of photos now which is from Halloween 2021! Everyone looked super cute in their spooky costumes and Marshal even had on his vampire outfit! Ahh so glad I gave him that item forever ago. Halloween is not my favourite holiday in the game but I do love the aesthetic of the holiday. I made sure to dress my character up in some spooky looks for this year and actually took off my Pompompurin outfit for once. Speaking of Halloween, I brought some cute spooky fabric to make a Halloween themed dress. I made a Halloween dress last year and thought I would start a tradition of making one each year. We don't celebrate the event too much in Australia but that doesn't stop the shops from selling some great merchandise!
This play journal got through a big chunk of screenshots from New Horizons and now we are up to November 2021. They will be in the next play journal and cannot believe we have almost caught up to 2022. This post saw a number of villagers come and go, maybe the most for any play journal. I feel I've just gotten to a point in the game where whilst I love certain villagers, I have to let some move so I meet new ones. There are so many animals in the game but not enough room to meet them all!
