Style Boutique 3: Shopdo Update

Time for another Shopdo update! I want to get into the habit of updating my Shopdo once a week. It's been a little while since my last update so here is this week's outfits.

The first outfit may look familiar to readers of my blog who have been following the 30 Day Outfit Challenge I've been doing this month. It's the outfit from the movie inspired theme and is modelled off the costumes from one of my favourite movies St. Trinians. You can read more about the outfit here and it's available to purchase if you visit my Shopdo. The second outfit is another outfit from the challenge and the exact one that my character is wearing currently. It's the glam/flirty themed outfit which I've been loving lately and wore on Day 5 of the challenge. The third outfit is a colour copy of the bold outfit I had up on Shopdo recently. It was quite popular so I uploaded a silver version of it this week.

Here is an update of my Shopdo ID card with updated stats. I've just gone over 500 likes which is exciting! I always make sure to like players Shopdo's when I visit so it's lovely to receive likes as well. My Shopdo ID is 0006271056 if you would like to visit and play the EUR/AUS version (Style Boutique).

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 19: Overalls

Today is all about overalls which are an item I hardly ever wear. There are plenty available in the game, I just never really try building them into outfits. So today I decided to give overalls a try and created this preppy style outfit. Honestly I feel these are braces more than overalls so not much of a success. The look is super cute though, Brooke Bridge has some nice overall style items available. You can get items like dungarees at most brands which I've never really seen that term outside of the game. I guess maybe it's a term not used much in Australia.

The prompt is 'Try to make overalls a trend' and I don't think I succeeded in making it a new trend haha. This is one I will definitely have another try at in the future and try to make more outfits with a range of styles of the item.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 18: Old Characters

Something a little bit different and a bit more challenging for day 18's theme. The prompt for today is 'Dress like a character from a previous Style Boutique game'. The idea of this theme is to pick a character from a previous game in the Style Boutique/Style Savvy series and copy one of their main outfits. I decided to copy one of Sophie's outfits from Fashion Forward as she was one of my favourite characters. Here's two photos for reference of her outfit.

Luckily I had all the items from Sophie's outfit in stock, so it was an easy one to recreate. The following items make up the outfit:

  • Marble Lily - Bell Sleeve Bolero (Cream)
  • Retrobeat - Sailor Dress (Red)
  • Marzipan Sky - Lacy Socks (White)
  • Marble Lily - Ribbon Ballet Flats (Cream)
  • Marzipan Sky - White Beret (Red Stripe)

I didn't change my characters hairstyle as the game didn't have the hairstyle I like for Sophie as it was removed. So I just used my own hairstyle for it which saved a trip to the Hair Salon. Ended up taking quite a few pictures in this outfit as I couldn't decide on what poses to use.

CocoSori Mini Album Vol.2 Mi Amor - Album Review

One of my favourite K-Pop groups CocoSori brought out an exciting new single recently and now it's time for a review of the mini album that was released for the single. The title of album is Mini Album Vol.2 - Mi Amor and was released in Feburary 2018.

Mi Amor Front Cover

The album only comes in one version and the single was funded through the crowd funding website Kickstarter. There was quite a few tiers you could support starting from 3000JPY (about $36AUD) which is pricer than most basic tiers in other Kickstarters I have seen. There was even tiers for 300,000JPY (a crazy $3669AUD!!) which included the latex outfit from one of the girls from their Dark Circle song. I didn't support the Kickstarter myself, but it achieved a total of over 2 million JPY which is amazing!

The Mi Amor album is about the size of a standard DVD case but not as wide. I like this size of K-Pop albums as they are easy to store and give the appearance of a book which I quite like. The Mini Album includes the following contents:
  • CD- 6 Track Album
  • Photobook - 20 Pages
  • Photo Postcard - Random from 2 designs.

Interior of album with photo postcard.

The design of the album has a beautiful red and white aethestic to it to fit in with the latin feel of the Mi Amor song. The album is quite sturdy which I always appreciate and the CD sits in a proper CD holder unlike most K-Pop albums which just have the CD stuck on a felt circle thing. It is better for international shipping as well as it helps hold the CD in place during shipment. There's nothing worse than receiving a package to find the CD has been rolling around in the album the whole time.

Mi Amor - CD Case.

The photo book is gorgeous! Even though it's only 20 pages, there are some stunning photos inside and the photo book is well presented. The lyrics are included for all the songs on the album and the lyrics are written in both Korean and Japanese. I like how the girls cater to their Japanese fan base as well as their Korean one. I feel they could be incredibly successful in Japan if they focused on it and released songs like Orange Caramel's Japanese tracks. A list of thank yous and production notes are also included. Here are some photos of most of the pages in the photo book.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 17: Jeans

Pretty simple theme for today which is 'Jeans are the essential wardrobe item'. Basically the outfit for day 17 is one themed around a simple pair of jeans. Now in real life, I'm not a fan of jeans. I can never find a pair that fits and I'm not spending a ridiculous amount on jeans. My friends brought expensive jeans once and all their pairs fell apart straight away. So instead of jeans, I wear jeggings instead. Like I literally live in them in the cooler months. You can buy these really good quality ones from Kmart here and they come in a range of colours. Jeggings are great because you don't have to pull them up constantly and because they are stretch, they always fit!

So for the outfit in Styling Star, I used a pair of jeans from Basic U. That brand has the best selection of jeans, they even look like the jeggings I own! I paired a classy looking jacket with the outfit which I thought brought the look together.

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 16: Sporty Outfit

I'm still not over Streetflow and the sporty image being removed in Styling Star, so today's themed is a tribute to the now defunct style. The prompt for day 16 is 'Sporty may be gone but not today!'. In Fashion Forward, I didn't wear the sporty style much but I loved the design of the items from Streetflow. In real life I tend to wear a lot of active wear as I go to the gym a lot, so that's one of the reasons I miss the active wear image in the game.

Items from Streetflow are still available at other brands in the game, so I searched for some of those to create this sporty outfit. Went with the cute kitty parka and matching top and pants. There was even a pair of trainers that matched as well!

30 Day Outfit Challenge Day 15: Mismatched Outfit

Now today was a super fun theme - Mismatched outfit. The idea is to create an outfit where nothing matches. Now the trick I used to create this theme was to use the search function and randomly select options with my eyes closed. After opening the search part of the wardrobe, I selected image and slide the slider up and down a bit before tapping on the screen to randomly select an image. I ended up picking girly which was good as that theme contains a range of items in different colours and patterns. Next I did the same random slider trick with the different clothing categories such as tops, outers, socks, etc.

And here is the outfit that was created. It looks....bizarre. Funny how the bottom part has a similar colour scheme going on. That skirt that is from April Bonbon is something I've always found cute, but never really used it much. The outfit isn't something I would wear normally, but it was a fun challenge. I'd like to maybe try making more mismatched outfits in the future.
