SELFY COLLECTION - Colour Outfits Collection - Green

Time for another round of outfits in SELFY COLLECTION: The Dream Fashion Stylist! Now that I've figured out how to manoeuvre the terrible search functions, it's easier to create outfits in the game. This time I've gone for a selection of green outfits from my Colour Outfits Collection. Now green is an interesting colour in the game as it covers a variety of shades and styles. There was a number of old-fashioned items that came up but I didn't choose too many as I thought that would make the outfits look similar to each other. Instead I tried to go with a mixture of themes and I really loved how they turned out.

The pastel toned outfits are honestly my favourite which might be due to my current love of pastel tones. I thought the lighter green toned hairstyles looked the best and had some gorgeous designs. I actually kept forgetting which ones I had already used and I kept trying to reuse them as I liked them so much! Quite a few steampunk inspired looks in this bunch and that is a cool style I think fashion games should embrace more. I guess because it isn't trendy, it won't be appealing to players. The second to last outfit reminded me of Christmas with its colour scheme. Maybe it was the snow background that gave off that vibe.

SELFY COLLECTION - Colour Outfits Collection - Red

It has been a long time since I posted about SELFY COLLECTION: The Dream Fashion Stylist and have actually been playing the game recently. Since I finished the main storyline of the game and grinded like crazy until I unlocked all the items, the only thing really left to do is to make some cute outfits. Now I will be 100% honest and say the user interface of the game is the most unfriendly thing ever! It is impossible to search for items and look through your inventory. Nowhere near as good as Style Boutique and the search terms are terrible. I actually had to play the game in handheld mode and used the touch screen to navigate. When you have the switch in dock mode playing off the TV, you have to move at a snail pace to cycle through the items. Definitely one of the worst things of this game, that and the constant loading screens.

Anyway negative points aside, I decided to make up some outfits themed around the colour red. SELFY COLLECTION is a cute game that you can create these beautiful avatar-styled characters. Apart from clothing items, you can add fun background elements to the outfits. The red search term brought up quite a number of items and I put together a variety of looks. My favourite of these is definitely the Alice In Wonderland inspired outfit as I adore that story and the dress has such gorgeous details. I also quite like outfit number 4 with the little bunny friend.

SELFY COLLECTION - Outstanding Outfits

SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist is one of those games I pick up every now and then to play. It's a nice game to play when you just want to zone out. My last play journal for the game can be read here and now I'm just grinding through the game to unlock all the collections. Not the funniest part of the game and I listen to videos whilst just spamming the buttons to earn money. I do enjoy creating outfits in the game as it has many beautiful and unique clothing combinations. These two coordinates were favourites of mine and I adore the colour tones I used. The lilac works great with the darker purple hair tone for the first character and the second one reminded me of Snow White. The third coordinate was one that I admired the selection of accessories. SELFY COLLECTION has an amazing range of backgrounds to add to your outfits and these eastern inspired ones are my favourites.

This heart letter themed outfit as I've dubbed it has been my top favourite that I've created. I've never changed this girl's look since I made this. It's just too perfect! I love everything about it. The way the colour tones blend together, the love letters floating about and the little rabbit hiding in the corner. It's like a cross between cupid and Alice in Wonderland. I had to add some items to it briefly to score the S rating for my collection but I changed it back to the original look right after as I love it too much.

SELFY COLLECTION Play Journal - Bonus Story & Cute Shibas!

Today I've got more exciting adventures from SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist to share! Last time, I finished up the main story line of the game and there I briefly mentioned that there is an epilogue story line as well! I was excited to see the story continue on and this story line has your character travelling to the magical Tales Land. This land is inspired by books and fairy tale concepts, so think Alice In Wonderland and woodland creatures. There are some fun character requests to complete in this land such as this state worker whose job is to write the National Record of what will happen each day in the country. What a bizarre job, it's like some strange fortune teller.

March Favourites

March has come and gone! Seriously it went super fast especially the last two weeks. One day it was the 14th then bam! 31st! I actually wrote 31/3/31 on a bunch of forms at work because writing the number three multiple times threw me off. I don't really remember much of what happen this month so it shall be a quick monthly favourites!

Gaming

Still playing SELFY COLLECTION on the Nintendo Switch and I'm only really grinding requests for coins now. I will have another play journal up early April for the game about the bonus storylines and other random stuff. My goal is to 100% all the collections and I need lots of coins to do that. The game has been quite enjoyable though, I've put over 60 hours into now!

An actual nice outfit was made for once.

Other than SELFY COLLECTION, I haven't been playing many games. I am excited to see Castaway Paradise is listed on the eShop for release soon! I loved playing it on Steam but nowadays I don't play games on my computer much. So having it on the Switch would be perfect and makes it easier to play everyday. It's available for pre-order for about $23.99 at the moment so I might pick that one up soon.

Music

Another packed music month as I've been listening to a lot of AKB48 singles and of course Brave Girls! If you follow k-pop, you'd definitely get what I'm talking about. I'm so glad that an older group with great songs has been recognised. Sometimes fans just think about what's popular or hyped up and just forget to enjoy the music. So it's nice that their songs have made a big comeback as they are super chill and fun to listen to. There's so many 2nd and 3rd Gen girl groups I wish would get more recognition. Like Rainbow, Dal Shabet, Hello Venus and Secret! I shall end with a selection of older girl group songs I love.

SELFY COLLECTION Play Journal - Completing The Story [SPOILERS]

My latest favourite game on the Nintendo Switch has been SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist and I finally completed the main story line of the game! It doesn't take that long to complete the story line, I'd say maybe between 10 to 15 hours based off what my game time was on my Switch. You do need to have certain popularity levels to get new story line requests. If the requests are appearing in Japanese, it means you need a higher level. This part wasn't translated into English in the western version of the game. The requests will appear in English once you hit the desired popularity rank.

Now onto the story line of the game! There will be spoilers from this point on so please skip this post if you are playing to play the game yourself and don't want to know the ending :)

February Favourites

Thank heavens February is finally over and I don't have to strain my brain every time I have to spell the word out. The start of this month went super fast and then the last part kind of just dragged. I'm sad that summer is over as we didn't really have much hot weather this season. There was only a few days where it hit 40 and most of the time it was in the twenties. Shame because I love summer and I just don't want it to be winter as I cannot take the cold weather. Hopefully autumn will have some nice weather! Anyway here are my monthly favourites for February!

My absolute favourite thing for this month was the discovery of the Barbie Pop Vinyls. One day my friend and I were in EB Games looking at the giant wall of Pop Vinyls and that's when I saw them. Couldn't believe it that they were actually real! I ended up buying the Day-To-Night Barbie a few days later because I just needed it for my Barbie collection. There are three designs in this set: Barbie & The Rockers, Peaches 'N Cream Barbie and Day-To-Night Barbie. I got the later one as I have a connection more to this design than the others. I remember seeing this doll in my Barbie books growing up but never owned it as it wasn't in production anymore. Plus the pink shades on this model match the 90's pink box dolls and merchandise that I like to collect. The Peaches 'N Cream one is gorgeous though and I'm torn on getting it. I just don't have room for more Pop's and I only got this one as it was sentimental to me.

Gaming

I turned on Animal Crossing New Horizons one day as it was Bill's birthday and he's one of my favourite villagers. And guess what DIY I finally found that day washed up on the beach? It was the signpost DIY I had been wanting for ages! Just my luck!

The only game I've really played this month is SELFY COLLECTION and I've still been enjoying it. I will be posting a play journal soon of the game as I'm close to completing the storyline of the game. That should go up early on in March and once I've finished the story line, I'm working on getting 100% with the clothing collection and requests. I really do appreciate how the game shows you all the clothing items for each brand, if only Style Boutique had that! Here is a nice outfit I made in SELFY COLLECTION recently where I went a bit crazy with the accessory items.

Music

I've listened to way too much music this month and can't think of too many favourite songs that come to mind. I did however find Britney Spear's In The Zone in the Op-Shop which I was super excited about. Someone threw out their Britney collection but I had most of them already. So I got In The Zone as I didn't have that one in my collection just yet. The one album I'm looking for is her Blackout one and I never see it anywhere! I used to own it years ago and one day it just went missing. I never knew what happened and I only really thought about it a few years when I started collecting Britney CD's. Hopefully I'll come across it one day. Here's a bunch of songs I quite like at the moment to finish off this month's monthly favourites.

SELFY COLLECTION Play Journal - Stories Going Off The Rails

My new favourite game on the Nintendo Switch recently has been SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist. I posted a review on the game last month and I've become hooked on the game in recent weeks. Thought I'd share some of my screenshots from my outfits and adventures in the game. It's great how easy it is to take screenshots on the Nintendo Switch and I don't have to delete any from an album like in Style Boutique. I shall start with this customer who is always coming to me with requests about her boyfriend. She changes boyfriends like every two seconds and is always asking for new outfits. Even my character Marzipan has noticed!

Time for some cute outfits I've designed in the game. I've been using the search feature lately to help narrow down items to meet customers requirements and it does help if you have items that match the actual categories. Now that I'm further into the game, I have a bigger range of clothing and it's easier to buy more. I just love the EGL style clothing in SELFY COLLECTION! It's a big step up from Marble Lily and Raven Candle in Style Boutique. The details on the items is stunning and the dresses have great definition to their shape.

January Favourites

The first month of 2021 has come and go. It's been a bit of a wild ride honestly and hopefully Feburary will be better for everyone. Apologies for not posting a December Favourites last month and this was because I was overworked with the Boxing Day sales and didn't have time to post one. So for January I made sure to post one to make up for it! I need to spend some time going back through the blog catching up on comments and updating pages as I finally have heaps of free time to blog more. Enough talk, let's get into the monthly favourites for January 2021!

Gaming

This month I've only really been playing Nintendo Switch on and off. Been taking a short break from New Horizons as I was really annoyed at never getting any new DIY recipes. Like my villagers keep giving me log stakes and going on about starting the new international craze. Now if you took a stroll around my island, you'd notice that I'm quite the fan of log stakes. So my villagers mustn't pay much attention when they walk around to notice that I already had this DIY :( Hopefully the developers fix this soon or at least add some new exciting content into the game. We are getting Pave but I've never been a fan of this character and always avoided Festivale in New Leaf. Here is my character staring off into the distance wondering when her villagers will give her the stupid signpost DIY.

In the meantime, I've been playing a fair bit of SELFY COLLECTION which I posted a review of this month! At first I was kinda frustrated with the game as I wasn't earning many coins but I've been grinding through the storyline and I'm up to almost a million coins! Whilst you can't be as creative with the outfits as Style Boutique, once you open more shops there are some beautiful pieces to work with. I'll probably post a play journal of the game soon as I've been putting in a lot of hours into it. How stunning is the outfit shown below? I just loved it too much and didn't want to give her a new one!

Music

I feel like I've listened to a billion songs this month and have plenty of new favourites. New CD's wise I got given some 90's and 2000's singles by a fellow CD collector and I was so excited to listen to some b-sides from old groups I used to listen to back in the day. They were CD singles from artists like S Club 7, Liberty X and my personal favourite boy group of all time Five!!!! Not sure if I've ever mentioned it before, but I love Five and listen to their greatest hits all the time. Slowly trying to find all their old singles and albums as I never had them growing up. Anyway here are some of favourite songs from this month!

SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist Game Review

The Nintendo Switch is finally home to a fashion styling game and no it's not Style Boutique. The game is titled SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist and is based on the popular avatar program 'Selfy' from GCREST. The game has been out since September last year and is the localisation of the Japanese game SELFY COLLECTION 夢のスタイリスト. I've been playing the game a bit over recent days so I thought I'd write up a quick review of what I thought about the game.

SELFY COLLECTON - The Dream Fashion Stylist has you taking on the role of a stylist travelling to different regions creating outfits for players. There are over 5,000 items to collect and these include clothing, make-up, hair, costumes and backgrounds. You can use these items to fulfil coordinates requests for customers and to decorate your own in-game avatar.

The game graphics are super cute and colourful. That was the main thing that caught my attention when I was scrolling through the eShop. I just knew I had to get it once I saw the screenshots! Finally a fashion game on the Switch! When you start up the menu, you can select a new game or continue with your current one. The game is pretty basic from the start, you enter a name and it goes straight into the story line. Your avatar is a newbie stylist working at 2-way, a fashion shop in the city and it's the typical storyline that you are the relative of a previous owner (your mother co-owned the shop). So of course your character has a lot of expectations on their skills already. The first request will come from your co-worker Nana who talks you through a coordinate request. Key words for the look are mentioned in the request and don't worry, these show up on the outfit screen too.
