After School Bang! - Single Review (Limited Edtion CD+DVD Type A)

Onto the next version of After School's Japanese single Bang! After looking at the CD Only version in the last review post. This won't be a super long text based post as I've said most of the stuff to say in my previous review but we can look at some pretty pictures instead! Today we will be looking at the Limited Edition CD+DVD Type A which comes in a nice cardboard sleeve.

Bang! is the debut Japanese single from Korean girl group After School who is also known as AFTERSCHOOL in Japan. This single was released on August 17th 2011 and came in three versions: Limited Edition CD+DVD Type A, Limited Edition CD+DVD Type B and CD Only. The song was also previously released as a digital single a few days earlier and is the Japanese version of their hit song 뱅! Bang! Some sites list this as limited edition and others do not so who knows! You don't get an OBI in this version as it comes in a lovely cardboard sleeve which has the same images as the jewel case. I brought my copy of Type A second-hand from Yahoo Auctions and it came with the following contents:
  • CD - 2 track single
  • DVD
  • Cardboard sleeve
  • Jewel case
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Promotional flyer

As I mentioned in the CD Only version review, the DVD versions only come with two tracks. You do get a nice DVD in this edition of course! The DVD includes the short Let's Do It MV along with the Japanese version MV for Bang! You can also watch some making of footage and the members introductions as the bonus contents and these are always entertaining to watch. I like seeing how they make the MVs and photocards. The track listings for the discs on the Limited Edition Type A are as follows:

CD Track Listing
  1. Bang! [Japanese Ver.]
  2. Super Sexy
DVD Track Listing
  1. Let's Do It [Japanese Ver.]
  2. Bang! [Japanese Ver.]
  3. Bonus Footage (Self-Introduction & MAKING MOVIE) [Japanese Ver.]

Compared to the CD Only version of Bang!, the Type A one is out of print on most sites. Guess it truly was limited edition. I feel that After School is an easy group to get into collecting as you can usually find copies of their Japanese releases. Korean titles might be harder and even I don't have too many in my collection. The next review will be about the last version of Bang! which is the Limited Edition B so I will see you soon with that one!
