March Favourites

It has been a billion years on the blog since I posted a monthly favourites. Always a fun post on the blog and I've had a few interests in recent months that have taken up a large chunk of my time. March has been a strange month as the weather is still quite warm here which I'm all for! I do not want the cold weather to arrive and I'm loving the shorts and t-shirt weather.

Gaming

Most nights I spend time playing colouring in games on my switch as I'm obsessed. My switch friends see a notification for the games I play and they are always like 'what on earth are you playing?'. I just find them so relaxing and I use a stylus which makes it super easy to colour in each section. COLOREE and Pixel Cross Stitch Color by Number are my current projects. COLOREE is a colour by number style game and Pixel Cross Stitch is the same but you can use the stylus to colour it in rather than just selecting the square. That's what makes using the stylus so perfect for the game! Nice and lowkey activity to do at the end of a busy day.

Books

This month I decided to spend less time on my phone as my screen time was getting out of hand. I was wasting so much time doing pointless things and decided I had enough! So I've set out on a mission to read every day and so far my streak is 9 days! Recently picked up 13 books at the library as they had a book sale for 50 cents each or $2 for a bag/as much as you could carry. I ended up getting two lots in different visits as I visit my library weekly. So far I've read one book which I really liked, two that weren't my vibe and currently 33% through a new romance one.

Music

Very exciting month as I received a package from Zenmarket containing CD's I ordered from Japan. Since the exchange rate was good, I thought it would be a great time to look for some new additions to my collection. Luckily I was able to find a few rare ones I had been on the search for. I will make a blog post about my haul soon and get ready for lots of AKB48 CD's because the order is like 90% AKB48.

I did also buy the new Pet Shop Boys Dreamland release with the blu-ray and it was a struggle to get hold of. My main music store didn't get any copies so I went to my other local store in the same chain and they had sold out. So the city store was my next choice and they were out as well. Ended up ordering it at my main store and sadly the order was going to be cancelled due to being out of stock at the supplier. Thankfully I tracked down a copy interstate to get sent here for my order and it's crazy how I couldn't get a copy of the album literally when it came out.

Music wise, the last few months I've gotten really into listening to albums rather than single songs. One day I realised I had so many songs in my collection and made a goal to listen to every single song. So I wrote them all down in a notebook organised alphabetically and I've been working my way through it. For listening I use Musicolet which is an offline music player that is amazing! I load up a bunch of albums in a playlist and let it run through. I love it as my brain doesn't have to worry about what the choose next and I've discovered lots of new favourite songs with this method. I got the not yet album ages ago however never listened to it and I really liked it once I did! They were a great sub-unit and I've added most of the their songs into my main playlists. Also listened to SKE48's first album last week and I'm obssessed with their early A-side singles. 4Minute is always a classic for me and Mirror Mirror was on rotation this month.
