A while ago, the developer of Fashion Dreamer announced that the online aspect of the game would be shutting down in March 2026. I talked more about it in this post and honestly it really came up quick! Online is now no more and is no longer available. First off, if you do play the game and haven't booted the game up for a while, make sure you select Online before going in solo-mode as you will receive all the content. You won't be able to go online and the game will just tell you it is no longer available with this sad message.
So after opening online for the final time it would appear on my menu screen, the other option was solo-mode. Let's take a look at how different the game looks now that the online features have been removed. The Eve Log only has one screen now and you no longer see the notifications from online things like Lookits.
Went into the My World area and it is quite empty. Now it just shows the NPC's in the game and not a single muse from other players. Aww it's bad that we lost all the friends we added and encountered in the game. Also please excuse the ranks on my NPC's as I never spent time ranking them up. It really shows that I only played online in Fashion Dreamer and making Lookits was really all I did.
Headed over to the Pop-Up Area which is deaaaaaaaaaaaaad. Like where has everything gone?? The number of screens with clothing items is reduced and the rankings are no longer available. A very empty location to visit but at least I'm on the top of the leader board haha.
In the game menu screen, the Lookits option no longer appears which is devastating as all the lovely outfits are gone forever. I used to like seeing the combinations muses put together for my muse. Thankfully I took photos of I think pretty much every single one I received so I can always look back on them. I didn't check out the Showroom feature as I knew that would be sad too and honestly I rarely used it when online was available. Just wasn't something I was ever interested in and I have no clue what's in my own showroom.
So what's next for Fashion Dreamer in regards to myself? Whenever I play the game now, I'll work through ranking up the NPC's as that seems to be the main aspect of the game. Last night I spent time spending creative keys to unlock item designs as I've got so many keys now. And I'll probably continue on with taking outfit photos as making outfits is the main thing I enjoy doing in fashion games. This outfit my muse has on in these photos is gorgeous!
With the blog content on Fashion Dreamer, I have a folder full of Lookits which I'll post to share the memories. Also have some online snaps from other players from the last time I played online. And after all those are posted, sadly Lookits will be another retired blog aspect like the old Shopdo. Which also makes me sad thinking about it as I loved Shopdo :(
The one positive aspect to come out of online shutting down is that the game runs so fast now! It used to take forever to load up online and then more time to cycle through all your online notifications. But now it's so quick and I like not having to wait. So a happy ending in terms of loading times! Hope you enjoyed this Fashion Dreamer update and I'll post some Lookits soon!
