February Favourites

Thank heavens February is finally over and I don't have to strain my brain every time I have to spell the word out. The start of this month went super fast and then the last part kind of just dragged. I'm sad that summer is over as we didn't really have much hot weather this season. There was only a few days where it hit 40 and most of the time it was in the twenties. Shame because I love summer and I just don't want it to be winter as I cannot take the cold weather. Hopefully autumn will have some nice weather! Anyway here are my monthly favourites for February!

My absolute favourite thing for this month was the discovery of the Barbie Pop Vinyls. One day my friend and I were in EB Games looking at the giant wall of Pop Vinyls and that's when I saw them. Couldn't believe it that they were actually real! I ended up buying the Day-To-Night Barbie a few days later because I just needed it for my Barbie collection. There are three designs in this set: Barbie & The Rockers, Peaches 'N Cream Barbie and Day-To-Night Barbie. I got the later one as I have a connection more to this design than the others. I remember seeing this doll in my Barbie books growing up but never owned it as it wasn't in production anymore. Plus the pink shades on this model match the 90's pink box dolls and merchandise that I like to collect. The Peaches 'N Cream one is gorgeous though and I'm torn on getting it. I just don't have room for more Pop's and I only got this one as it was sentimental to me.

Gaming

I turned on Animal Crossing New Horizons one day as it was Bill's birthday and he's one of my favourite villagers. And guess what DIY I finally found that day washed up on the beach? It was the signpost DIY I had been wanting for ages! Just my luck!

The only game I've really played this month is SELFY COLLECTION and I've still been enjoying it. I will be posting a play journal soon of the game as I'm close to completing the storyline of the game. That should go up early on in March and once I've finished the story line, I'm working on getting 100% with the clothing collection and requests. I really do appreciate how the game shows you all the clothing items for each brand, if only Style Boutique had that! Here is a nice outfit I made in SELFY COLLECTION recently where I went a bit crazy with the accessory items.

Music

I've listened to way too much music this month and can't think of too many favourite songs that come to mind. I did however find Britney Spear's In The Zone in the Op-Shop which I was super excited about. Someone threw out their Britney collection but I had most of them already. So I got In The Zone as I didn't have that one in my collection just yet. The one album I'm looking for is her Blackout one and I never see it anywhere! I used to own it years ago and one day it just went missing. I never knew what happened and I only really thought about it a few years when I started collecting Britney CD's. Hopefully I'll come across it one day. Here's a bunch of songs I quite like at the moment to finish off this month's monthly favourites.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Play Journal - Bridges Galore!

Today's blog post is a new Animal Crossing New Horizons play journal and all these screenshots were from way back in May 2020. Which is forever ago and May 2021 is actually closer! I shall start off with this cute picture of my character in front of Nook's Cranny in it's new location. This is the most ideal location for Nook's for me as it's a central place on my island and I wanted to create a shopping district style area of this and Able Sisters.

Got a lot of landscaping done on my island and one of my favourites is this little island in the middle of a small lake. I thought it was a nice idea and is a little hidden location you can jump over to. The lake is located near Nook's Cranny so it's another central point of my island. Made a little waterfall area that comes off the lake and a bridge was built as a walkway. These wooden bridges are my favourite in the game and I love how they are level with the water without arm rails. This first picture is of my character attempting to shoot down a balloon almost the trees near a waterfall. How on earth do people do activities in those towns that have stuff everywhere? I visit some friend's towns sometimes and there isn't a single patch of empty grass. Like how do they catch bugs or get items to fall down from balloons? I would go crazy without all the open space!

Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination Book - Cherry Berry Clothing Items

Trying something a bit different for today's post with some exciting content from one of my Girls Mode 3 books. This wonderful book is the ガールズモード 3 キラキラ☆コーデ  book which translates to Girls Mode 3 Glitter ☆ Coordination in English. The book contains sections of each brand in the game and all the clothing items available. There are also some short sections on features such as decorating your boutique, colour palettes and hairstyles. This post will just focus on the brand Cherry Berry and all it's clothing items.

Cherry Berry is known as April Bonbon in New Style Boutique 2 (EUR/AUS) and Style Savvy 3 (NA). It is the main brand for lively themed clothing and contains a large selection of items over a variety of types. Clothing from Cherry Berry also falls under the following styles: girly, psychedelic, sporty, bold and preppy.

Here are photos of the Cherry Berry content in the ガールズモード 3 キラキラ☆コーデ  book. The largest section for this brand is the tops with 278 items! I've come to enjoy this brand in the game as you can make some really fun outfits and work with experimenting with colour. Some items from the glam/flirty style brand Miss Ribbon (also known as Le Spark in NA and ビスクマリー BiscMary in JPN) were moved into the Cherry Berry brand in Girls Mode 3. They work well with this brand and don't stick out randomly amongst all the colourful items.

SELFY COLLECTION Play Journal - Stories Going Off The Rails

My new favourite game on the Nintendo Switch recently has been SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist. I posted a review on the game last month and I've become hooked on the game in recent weeks. Thought I'd share some of my screenshots from my outfits and adventures in the game. It's great how easy it is to take screenshots on the Nintendo Switch and I don't have to delete any from an album like in Style Boutique. I shall start with this customer who is always coming to me with requests about her boyfriend. She changes boyfriends like every two seconds and is always asking for new outfits. Even my character Marzipan has noticed!

Time for some cute outfits I've designed in the game. I've been using the search feature lately to help narrow down items to meet customers requirements and it does help if you have items that match the actual categories. Now that I'm further into the game, I have a bigger range of clothing and it's easier to buy more. I just love the Lolita style clothing in SELFY COLLECTION! It's a big step up from Marble Lily and Raven Candle in Style Boutique. The details on the items is stunning and the dresses have great definition to their shape.

CLC High Heels - Mini Album Review (Type B CD+DVD)

The last review in my CLC Japanese collection is finally here and it's a cute one. Today we'll be looking at Type B of the group's first Japanese mini album High Heels. Let's get straight into it with the adorable front cover with a lovely photo of the group!

High Heels is CLC's 1st Japanese mini album High Heels is CLC's first Japanese mini album and it was released in April 2016 through Tower Records Japan. The mini album comes in two editions: Type A CD Only and Type B CD+DVD. I got both editions through the Tower Records online store when they were on sale once. The Type A editions includes the following contents:
  • CD - 5 track mini album
  • DVD - Contains 4 MV's
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Jewel Case
  • OBI

Between the two versions of High Heels, this one is my favourite as I love the cute casual concept. The front cover has a photo of the group members in short white skirts and striped jumpers. Cute concepts are one of my favourites in music so I'm happy with the styling of this version. The back cover features another photo of the girls in different poses along with the tracking listing for both the CD and DVD. Credit and production information is listed in the bottom left corner.

Another great CD design from CLC with Type B! This version has a patterned background with pink and blue stripes across the top along with the mini album title. The tiny heart bows on the title letters are just too adorable! The group logo is printed on the bottom half of the CD along with the track listing. The DVD disc shares a similar design with a different coloured background. The space behind the CD/DVD holder is just a background which is much nicer than a repeat photo like Type A had.
