January Favourites

I am so happy this month is finally over as it has been something. There was a lot of issues with the pandemic here and I haven't been out at all besides work and medical appointments. The latter was a big one as I had some surgery on my leg and luckily it is getting much better now. After years of difficulty, my leg is finally back to normal and not painful anymore. Anyway onto the monthly favourites for this month and I feel like I didn't do much. 

Oh one thing that did happen was that I started a tumblr again! I used to have one many years ago but unfortunately deleted it! Got bored the other day and decided to restart one up. I'm not very good at using the site at the moment so please excuse how terrible it looks. Gaming

Been playing a fair bit of both Animal Crossing New Horizons and Styling Star. Also played some Cooking Mama whilst I was recovering. I've just started decorating my house in Animal Crossing which is gonna take forever as I'm just kind of winging it and seeing what works. I've got plans for a few rooms but it would be great if the side rooms were larger. I have been making lots of new outfits in Styling Star so I will have quite a few to share on here!

Stationery

I filled up my very first journal the other day and I'm quite proud of myself. One for sticking to journaling often and for actually filling up an entire notebook! My workmates always joke about never using notebooks as they are too nice and I felt like that too. But then I realised the paper is just sitting there doing nothing and it's much nicer to use it for it's purpose. I brought this Scooby-Doo notebook ages ago at work as I thought it was groovy but never used it. Then one day I decided to take up journaling and the rest is history. I did manage to add nearly 2 extra centimetres to the notebook from all the stickers and papers I added! Oops! My new journal is the same style but with Pusheen on it (got suckered again at work by the cuteness).

Outfit Of The Day - Cherry Dress

The weather in this photo looks absolutely divine and I'd take it over our current weather! It has been unusually humid for ages which is not normal for the part of Australia I live in. Now I love the hot weather, but I'm not used to the humidity. Doesn't help if the building your work is situated in sometimes turns the aircon off so it's like a sauna. I'd love some beautiful weather like this right about now.

Onto the outfit anyway and I've got a lovely baby-doll themed outfit for today's outfit. I thought it was cute how this outfit matched the shoes with the cherry accents. This particular dress from Marble Lily isn't one I use often as I have other go-to items. It is a nice casual Lolita style look compared to the larger pannier style skirts. Not sure why I went with such bright pink hair colour and looking back maybe red would've been a better option.

TWICE Happy Happy - Single Review (Regular CD Only)

First music review of 2022 is TWICE's HAPPY HAPPY single! I've had these images saved on my computer for a while so I thought it would be a nice start to the year. I'm aiming to get more CD reviews posted on Marzipan Wonderland this year and it would be great to add more links to reviews in my end of year collection round-up. Let's get straight into it then!

HAPPY HAPPY is Korean girl group TWICE's fourth Japanese single and was released on July 17th 2019. The single was released in fourth editions: Limited Edition A CD+DVD, Limited Edition B CD+DVD, Regular CD Edition and a limited ONCE JAPAN Fanclub CD Edition. I brought the Regular CD Edition from a seller on Yahoo Auctions along with the Breakthrough single (which I have reviewed here!). Those two singles were released quite close together so it was easy to find them in a listing together. The copy of HAPPY HAPPY that I received came with the following contents:

• CD - 4 track single
• Jewel Case
• Lyrics Booklet
• OBI
• Photocard (10 to collect)
• IC Card Sticker

Loving the design of this single and it is a nice contrast to the Breakthrough design. The two singles have similar designs but feature the girls in both dark and fun concepts. The front cover of the single has the girls hanging out on a beach style backdrop with some delicious looking icecreams. The back cover is rather boring compared to the front but I've come to expect this from releases nowadays. No one puts effort into album designs much anymore. At least the fern looks nice and having the text rotated in a different direction is a fun touch.

Outfit Of The Day - Love Grey

OMG I love this outfit and it has instantly become one of my favourites! Shame I've filled up my scrapbook and cannot add anymore to it as I would've added this in a heartbeat if I had the room. Grey is one of the those colours that people comment that they can never wear but I'll often wear it in real life. And if this outfit existed in real life, I would totally wear it!

The look is casual girly outfit and would be great for summer/spring weather. Readers of the blog will know how much I love these outers which were new to Styling Star. Feels weird saying new as the game came out in 2017 which is forever ago! Getting closer to the five year mark which is scary. Anyway I love the colour scheme of this outfit and the accessories are on point! They really bring together the entire outfit and the hairstyle is killer. I think an updo was the right choice for this look and the soft blonde colour gives some edge to the girly look.

Style Boutique 2 Play Journal - Fashion Shows Part 4

I've spent like 10 minutes trying to get blogger to upload the pictures for today's Style Boutique post in the correct order but it just doesn't want to cooperate. So they'll just have to work as is which is ok because it will still make sense. I've got some more classic fashion show pictures from Fashion Forward to share and these are all some great winners! All five star awarding winning outfits! These photos were from back in the day when I was running my old blog with tips on how to get five star outfits.

First off is this perfectly styled cute outfit and I really wanted to use the word cute to describe it however the picture explains that for me. The one thing I love most about this outfit is the girly make-up which shows a great example of make-up sets in the Fashion Forward game. It's a bit OOT and I look back and think why on earth did I choose such pastel looking mascara. The make-up sets in the game were a bit out there sometimes but it seemed to do the job for this look.

Outfit Of The Day - Leopard Bonanza

First off I just want to ask if anyone actually likes this hairstyle? It's always been one that I've avoided as it's just too bizarre for me. I'm not a fan of the cut or the way it sits on the character model. But thought I'd try something different and use it for today's Outfit Of The Day. It suited this look quite well and matches the glam/flirty style which was the idea I was going for. 

Loving the brown and cream tones in these clothing items and everything matched perfectly. This puffy vest and skirt were made for each other and the bag even matches it. The shoes are a bit dark for my liking but I felt they matches the whole leopard print idea I was going for. I feel often when I make bold or glam/flirty outfits I always go for the prints as they are what the styles are about for me.

My K-Pop Collection 2021

Since I posted my 2021 J-Pop Collection last week, it is of course time for my 2021 K-Pop Collection! I was surprised I actually managed to buy some new titles over the last year or two as I was intending to take a break. However I was able to order some new ones through a nearby store and couldn't help myself. So let's get straight into it!

First up is my ever growing TWICE collection and never thought I would own this many from the group. Last time I did a collection post, I only had the Fancy mini album. Well now I have four in total! Brought all of these through import orders at JB HiFi and I'm happy with the selection. There wasn't too many titles available and I hope more are added soon as I love the TWICE mini albums. You get so many goodies, especially photocards. It would be amazing if all their albums were the same size as I love that system. The style of More & More or Feel Special are my ideal ones as I enjoy book style albums as they are easy to store and look at.

One new addition to the Nature collection with their second single Some & Love. I just had to have this single as the design is gorgeous and matches well with their first single. Plus it's pink and I love that colour. The second single is much slimmer than the first and has a softer cover. I am interested in getting a few more of their mini albums this year as I enjoy their early songs.

Nature Singles

Now I just adore these two singles from DreamNote and whoever designed these should be given an award. Everything is perfect about them! The matching album sizes that look perfect next to each other, the sturdy design and wonderful photobook. I'm surprised of the amazing quality from a nugu group and the songs are awesome as well!

Actually got a new MOMOLAND release after what seems like forever. I remember the old days when I used to collect all their stuff. I was thinking about trying to build on my MOMOLAND collection today and look for the ones I'm missing. I'm quite interested to see how their new comeback goes but it does make me miss the 9-member group :( I got the Starry Night album through JB HiFi which was sweet as it was such a random one to find.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Play Journal - Flower Madness

Anyone else been playing a fair bit of Animal Crossing New Horizons since the new update? I've been playing every day and I'm been enjoying all the new features. It inspired me to continue on with my New Horizons Play Journal series in 2022 and one day we will finally catch up to the current date with screenshots. I regret taking so many screenshots as it's taking forever to get through them! First up in this play journal is my character expressing how I feel trying to sort through all my screenshots. OMG why on earth did I think it was a good idea to cover all my beaches in flowers?!?!

Caught CJ stuck on my little island in the middle of the lake. Such an amusing spot to spawn and he can never escape! I don't actually don't to CJ at all so nothing was lost. I find him boring and don't bother with the fishing challenges unless I have really good fish to sell to him for extra money. After this we have a quick snapshot of a lovely snowboy I crafted one day! Great how I'm so good at making them in New Horizons but still never completed all the snow people series in New Leaf. Thank heavens the developers cut the series down to one set and it's super easy to obtain.

Outfit Of The Day - Feeling Lively

You would think after doing all those outfits for the Basics Challenge that I would be out of outfit ideas! Well that's not true and I'm back with the first Outfit Of The Day post for 2022. Starting off with a fun lively themed outfit that goes a bit crazy with the colour purple. The only search feature for this outfit must've been purple because all the items have that colour tone. April Bonbon has some amazing purple coloured items and I had this great idea of combining them with some items from other brands for a new look!

I'm calling it classy lively as the outfit is more sleek and stylish than the usual crazy coloured lively outfits. Love how the skinny jeans look with the bottom half of the outfit which I paired with high boots. I didn't feel any of the April Bonbon shoes matched the feel of the outfit so I went with these feminine/girly style ones. Finished off the outfit with some rocking accessories and a rocker haircut of course!

My J-Pop Collection 2021

Back in 2020, it was such a hectic year that I totally forgot to post my J-Pop Collection for the year! Let's make up for that right now with my J-Pop Collection for the year that was 2021! Honestly there wasn't too many new additions and I'm actually awaiting a large parcel of J-Pop CD's to be delivered. Not going to include those in this round-up but I definitely looking forward to them!

Starting off the collection with one of my new favourite groups of all time - AKB48! Now I was always interest in the group since Gingham Check was released, but never got into them as it all looked too complicated. Then one day I became obsessed! I'm not too into the newer generations and focus more on the golden era releases. It's so hard to pick a Oshimen as I change my favourite member too often. Right now my top 3 are Takahashi Miniami, Watanabe Mayu & Minegishi Minami. I even changed the cover of my 神曲たち Kamikyokutachi CD to Takahashi! My AKB48 CD collection is rather small if you compare it to how many CD's the group has actually released. Wouldn't it be amazing to own them all? I'd love to have all the singles up to say Teacher Teacher. Seems like a crazy dream!

Now we have my Kyary Pamyu Pamyu collection which only grew by one album in 2021. I found the KPP album on clearance at JB HiFi which was great as I'd be trying to find it there for years. It even had the OBI strip which you don't see often so I'm guessing it could've been import album. I don't believe KPP Best ever got an Australian release like ピカピカふぁんたじん Pika Pika Fantajin did which is the version I own.

TWICE seems to be a group that I acquired a lot of new albums of in 2021 as I brought a few of their Korean releases. Only one addition to their Japanese discography for me with Fanfare. I purchased the ONCE Japan Fanclub edition of the single as it had my favourite cover design. There was a number of listings for this single with this edition being the cheapest available and it even came with a poster and photocards!

Slowly building my Japanese T-ARA collection with two new additions - Jewelry Box & Treasure Box. These are the group's first and second Japanese albums and I got the Pearl Edition for both. Jewelry Box has the fair better cover in my opinion but I like the pirate concept for the other as it matches the title Treasure Box. Shame their third album was called Gossip Girls which goes against the 'box' naming system. The second photo is of all my T-ARA Japanese singles and all these songs are on the albums anyway, so a lot of doubling up here.

Shopdo Update - January 2022

Took a short break after finishing the Basics Challenge and now I'm back with January's Shopdo Update. Packed away the Christmas decorations for another year and the boutique has a new stylish interior. I've gone for a wooden look for this month with cute displays around the shop. The wooden furniture always looks amazing in Style Boutique and I love how many items coordinate together. It's always such a pain when you find an item you want to use but then nothing else matches it.

Onto the outfits now and I kind of made these rather quick. I wasn't really in the mood to think up new outfits as I was quite stressed from a family emergency. So I decided to go with some classic looks from my outfit scrapbook. First up is this preppy ensemble that I love the colour combinations of! I cannot get over how well this top matches the skirt. Second is a favourite feminine look of mine. I keep this one in my scrapbook as it is one of the top feminine styled outfits I've made in the game and wanted to keep that memory. Last outfit is a new one that I don't really recall. I must've saved it from a challenge failure or something. It is quite elegant and a mixture of girly and feminine.

The Basics Challenge - Day 32 The Final Look

The final day of the Basics Challenge is finally here and I've gone for a classic look for the last outfit. The theme is gold and of course I went with a chic outfit as Enid Chen has an gorgeous selection of gold toned clothing items. As soon as I saw this dress pop up in the search results, I knew it was the final look and is a lovely look to ring in the New Year! This dress can look strange when you take photographs as the game is limited in showing depth with layers of clothing or how folds would form on clothing. There was some amusing poses during the photoshoot but I decided to go with the most elegant looking ones. I decided against a necklace as I felt it was a tad distracting and just went with the classic tiara.
