K-Pop Haul - TWICE, BLACKPINK, MOMOLAND & DreamNote

Rounded up all my recent K-Pop purchases for a haul post! I brought these gems over the course of the last few months and thought I had a good amount to share on the blog. All of these CD's were brought from JBHIFI apart from DreamNote which I got from eBay. Here are all the beauties that I added to my collection!

First up is TWICE's 9th Mini Album 'More & More' in the B Version. Both this and the MOMOLAND album were special order items from JBHIFI, so the version you get is entirely random. I'm always happy with TWICE releases though as they have stunning photobooks and a wealth of photocards! The for the CD, I got Sana's which is gorgeous and I've included a photo of all the photocards I got. Can't believe this release had 100 photocards you could get! I can't imagine the pain collectors have to go through to get their faves.

Now onto DreamNote's 2nd Single 'Dream:us' which I brought from Korea on eBay. I'd been looking at getting this single for a while as I love the aesthetics and concept of the single design. I already had DreamNote's first single 'Dreamlike' which is another beautifully designed single. Plus I really like the songs on this single and look at how many photocards you get! Seems there are 22 to collect for this single and you get 4 each time, so it wouldn't take too long to collect them if there's a few fans around. I'm not sure if DreamNote is popular or not, I think they are cute and like buying their releases to support them.

Back to the JBHIFI purchases with MOMOLAND's special album 'Starry Night'. It seems like forever since I brought a new MOMOLAND release. It's weird to think I used to collect them all the time and then just stopped. I think once Daisy left and the group lost momentum, I kinda lost interest in getting their releases before others. Starry Night is a nice release and has some lovely photos of the girls. And it's nice to see a different shaped MOMOLAND Korean release for once after those giant albums we had for a while. I got a Nancy photocard which is great as I don't have too many of hers but I would've loved to have gotten Ahin's as I usually got hers.

Got two more BLACKPINK items for the collection! Amazingly I have quite a few releases from this group which is mainly because it's the only girl group JBHIFI stocks on a regular basis. I pre-ordered the 'How You Like That' single and you get quite a few posters with this release! This single is huge and is by far the tallest K-Pop release I own. The photobook is quite nice but not my favourite from the group. The other BLACKPINK release I got is the standard version of their first album 'The Album'. I did originally want to get one of the other versions when they first announced them but each album was $99 at the store. So I decided to pass as you can get them way cheaper online and it would've an expensive exercise to collect all the versions. Lucky for me, a standard CD only version was released shortly after and I even got it during the 20% music sale so it was even cheaper!

Seems my photocard box is getting quite full! It's pretty much reached the top after this haul. I just use this mirror jewellery box to store any photocards that will fit. I have more around the place that are too large and I usually keep those with their corresponding releases. I'm not planning on buying anymore Asian pop CD's in the next few months so at least it won't over flow soon.

SELFY COLLECTION Play Journal - Completing The Story [SPOILERS]

My latest favourite game on the Nintendo Switch has been SELFY COLLECTION - The Dream Fashion Stylist and I finally completed the main story line of the game! It doesn't take that long to complete the story line, I'd say maybe between 10 to 15 hours based off what my game time was on my Switch. You do need to have certain popularity levels to get new story line requests. If the requests are appearing in Japanese, it means you need a higher level. This part wasn't translated into English in the western version of the game. The requests will appear in English once you hit the desired popularity rank.

Now onto the story line of the game! There will be spoilers from this point on so please skip this post if you are playing to play the game yourself and don't want to know the ending :)

Rainbow Over The Rainbow Special Edition - Album Review (Limited Edition C 2CD)

The next music review on Marzipan Wonderland is from a group I haven't reviewed on this blog. It's one of my favourite second generation K-Pop groups Rainbow! I was pretty late to getting into Rainbow and by that I mean they were no longer active when I discovered them. So far I've only got two releases from the group in my collection and one of those is their Japanese album Over The Rainbow which I'll be reviewing today!

Over The Rainbow Special Edition is the re-release of Rainbow's first and only Japanese album. It was released in December 2012 and comes in three editions: Limited Edition A CD+DVD, Limited Edition B CD+DVD and Limited Edition C 2CD. I've got both Limited Edition B and Limited Edition C in my collection and I brought both of them from Yahoo Auctions. Limited Edition C of Over The Rainbow Special Edition has the following contents:
  • 2CD - Two discs containing both Japanese and Korean releases
  • Lyrics booklet
  • Jewel case
  • Promotional flyer

The front and back cover are very on point for a group called Rainbow. Both sides feature photos of the group members in their corresponding rainbow colours. The background features some rainbow stripes and even the group logo is colourful. It's like a rainbow overload! I love the lettering of the 'special edition' title and it stands out well from all the rainbow. The back cover contains the track listing for the two discs along with production information. This CD is a tad confusing as the print notes it as a compilation however online stores and information sites list it as a album. The special edition releases were counted as additional versions of the original Over The Rainbow album therefore they did not chart on Oricon.
